Hi Alex, you need longer levers to undo tight bolts. The easy way is to put a ring end of a combi spanner over one side of the open end, not through the middle like you were. You nearly double the leverage that way. Clearly you wouldn't use a ratchet spanner for that method.
A mechanic's creeper might be a good purchase for you Alex, that is if you are able to jack the car up the exrra few inches to roll it underneath. Make sure if you have a sliding spline section on the propshaft, it's put back with the yokes properly aligned with the other propshaft end joint. Get it even one spline out of true, and you'll get some vibration at any speed. Dont mess with the balance weights, they're set when new, you'll need it rebalancing if you disturb them. Also, make sure any bolts in the adjustment slots on a centre bearing carrier are evenly matched or you'll get uneven thrust / wobble through the bearing. Those propshaft flange bolts have to be torqued, and preferably locked mega tight. If they let go, the prop will flail around and could potentially flip a vehicle over, or slice through the floorpan.
I love these "spannering" videos. Generally I find a ring spanner grips better than an open ended but sometimes that's just not possible. Good luck with the rest of the job.
One of the most balls achey jobs known to man, or woman, even using a ramp. However I would advise anyone who removes a prop shaft , that prior to removal you get a 1/2” cold chisel and mark the prop and axle coupling meet, and restore them to the same position. Well done Alex, my admiration knows no bounds.

Not sure if it would have helped here but I have started nuts off under a car by getting the spanner near horizontal (position of nut allowing) and using a jack under the end of it to lever it loose by extending the jack. It worked for me many years ago getting the drive doughnuts off a Hillman Imp - not in the same league as a P4 of course!
I totally agree and I feel for you because I have done the same a few times. However, age is on your side. I'm over 70 and doing this is not something I enjoy. But as you say, if it has to be done then you have to do it. Oh for a hoist or a pit. Oh well, you have to work with what you have. :D

You know, Alex, why youremind me of THE QUEEN? Because,I don't know if you'e hear this,but we she was still a Princess - there was still "National Service". People were still required to do a stint in the Military. Elizabeth could probably have got out of it, if she pulled a few strings - being Royal. But, then, the Royals always have had links with the Military - so she probably didn't mind! How does this link with YOU then! Well, Elizabeth decided to join THE ARMY, in the Transport Corps. She had never even learnt to drive - but our plucky Elizabeth soon learnt to drive - on an Army Lorry, with heavy steering, and no power assistance! BUT, the point I'm coming to , is there's a famous picture of HER, (like yourself), with a SPANNER in her hand! In the days when engines were (mercifully) devoid of un - necessary gadgets, the (later Queen) was about to service the lorry HERSELF! (Darned clever, you women!)
Check the axle breather vent to make sure its not blocked - if it is blocked then it will explain why the diff' is still leaking. If its not blocked then its down to any number of other reasons such as the new seal is not fitted correctly and/or wearing on a corroded rusty surface and so on
Providing you have space to swing it, you might consider purchasing a Laser 6745 Spanner Extension Wrench. A lot safer than hooking ring spanners on the end of spanners. Has got me out of a few difficult situations.
Working on gravel is a terrible thing. It hurts and you always lose nuts, washer, springs and everything else. Big sheet of hardboard might help - thin & smooth. & easy to store.
Two spanner thing works better when spanner two is a ring spanner to extend the leverage a little more…. Ohh n yes I’m sure you will sleep tonight but don’t be surprised if you wake up underneath your bed trying to unbolt bed springs .. 😂 Hey it’s all going to be good when it’s done and think of the achievement feeling at the end…perhaps a few grease nipples about whilst on stands.. 🤔
Very courageous but still a fearful operation, I think. Isn’t there a local garage where you can use a ramp ? It’s much easier and above all safer, which is not unimportant 🙄

Hopefully it will be in your manual but I think the weights on the propshaft will be from it being dynamically balanced when manufactured.
