What I personally do is shift+click the item/spell into the macro. It automatically assigns the appropriate /use or /cast command, along with the item/spell.
Yes, but assigning the number slot associated with the trinket means you make that macro once and you never have to edit it again even if you change trinkets 50 times.
Or go play FFXIV where you don't need macros and a thousand different add-ons to play the game for you. As a bonus you also get to play a game with a community that aren't a bunch of toxic, entitled, assholes. You also get to experience one of the greatest stories in all of gaming from a franchise spanning over 3 decades and a game built by a group of devs who actually listen to and give a shit about their fans instead of exploiting them for cash. And I say this as an old school Blizzard fan who stuck with WoW for 16 years. You deserve better. If you give Blizzard money you are part of the problem.
