Absolutely. We would have loved the sinister six movie, the serum increases aggression, and this is definitely the best spiderman movie ever. Apart from the superior web dynamics of the movie, we get character development and acting capabilities that far exceed any of the other spiderman films. The plot has countless symmetries throughout the entire film, from the graduation speech to the Roosevelt subplot.. This is probably one of the coolest superhero character arcs of the decade.

so glad you pointed out sally field's aunt may... don't believe her aunt may gets enough love.
and i'm so glad you pointed out the spider-blood storyline, and where peter was DESTINED to be spider-man... which is VERY LAME to me. i should've pointed that out in my video, so you did a better job there!
overall great video! i'd be cool to get a retrospective like this for every spider-man film! i'd love you insight on it!

Realistic darker take? This version was more goofy in a lot of ways. Also, this movie still to this day is a mess and I don’t like it when people say, “oh Andrew was great in No Way Hole, so this movie was misunderstood”. Yes he was great in that movie and that scene of him saving Zendaya’s MJ was great, but that only made one or two scenes like Gwen Stacy’s death in this movie feel better and have more impact, it didn’t make the movie as a whole better.

In TASM 1 it was a more of a realistic darker take. Sony course corrected in TASM 2. It was the trend at the time because of The Dark Knight movies. I know this movie is still a mess. I never said it was great lol. I just don't think it's THAT bad. I think this is an ok movie that has some great moments mixed with a whole lot of bad moments but I also think it's not even the worst Spider-Man movie

Can I ask what you believe the worse Spider-Man movie is...? I totally understand having personal bias towards a particular Spidey series or portrayal, but can you truly argue that another live action Spider-Man film has the worst story? Choreography and a comic accurate death scene aren't enough when those things aren't earned through plot.
NWH did a great job of salvaging the good aspects of Andrew's Spidey and allowing those aspects to shine, garnering the love that Andrew truly deserves. But the fact that a different director, writer and franchise had to come together to offer fans that pay off shows just how lazily developed TASM 2 was. NWH made certain TASM 2 scenes feel earned in retrospect years later and that should never be the case in film, especially for impactful death scenes with leading characters. A lot of the 'underrated' or 'overhated' praise this film has been recieving stems from the meta of Andrew portraying Spidey again within a great story. That doesn't retroactively save a bad film. Instead it shows that there was deeply squandered potential on Sony's part for Andrew to have shined in that role the first time around, through no fault of his own.

Everything I agree with you, but I cannot agree with the spiderman 3 being lesser spiderman movie comment. It was perfectly done by Sam Raimi minus how he didn’t get to do what he wanted.

I have so many problems with Spider-Man 3 but my biggest problem is I feel like it kinda ruined all of the characters. I don't want to get too much into it but that film just does so much wrong that it's hard to think of too many positives. It might not have been Raimi's fault for why it's bad but it still makes it a bad movie to me and Raimi himself doesn't like the movie either. I just hope there will be a Spider-Man 4 that will be a better and more hopeful conclusion directed by only Sam Raimi of course lol

I'm a massive Spidey movie fan, but this film is an absolute mess... The entire plot structure is written around the premise that a sinister six film would follow it. The side-plot of Peter's parents takes up so much screen time and goes absolutely nowhere, the lack of payoff to that plot thread just feels empty and pointless. I like Andrew's portrayal, though I'd lose the skater vibes, but the surrounding story he's involved in is beyond cheap. Electro had no motives or depth beyond confusion and being manipulated by whatever the hell Harry is. Harry came out of nowhere and they didn't write any history or real background for him. It truly felt like his only purpose for being in the film was to recreate the comic Gwen death scene, but not as a developed villain or even character. Gwen's death scene was decently handled, but again, the build up to it was completely unearned. Then it immediately cuts to the end of the film and provides zero ending for Harry or Electro. I was so disappointed by this movie, I wanted to love it SO much when it released. I remember convincing my college girlfriend to go with me to the midnight premiere and we drove like 2+ hours to an Imax theater for it. I don't hate this movie, but I was/am deeply dissatisfied with it. Spider-Man 3 is a strange film for sure, but its a fully structured movie that tells a complete story with developed characters. Unfortunately, TASM 2 has none of that...
I will say...yes, the Spidey choreography in this film is by far some of the best we've ever seen in live action. The swinging is superb and really fun to rewatch. The suit is on point for the most part, though I'd lift the chest spider logo up like 6 inches so it's not sitting on his stomach. I was obsessed with those big eyes when the design first dropped, but the face shield he has under the mask is a little too obvious. It makes it look like more of a helmet that's almost twice the size of Andrew's actual head/face. There's moments in this film that I love to rewatch, like the opening chase scene and the ending kid scene. Overall, based on plot structure alone, this is undeniably the worst written Spider-Man film to date.

I agree with some of the points you made and I disagree with others. Theres more great stuff in this movie like Peter and Gwens relationship and Aunt May which she is given a lot of great scenes in this one. I think the writing is much worse in Spider-Man 3 and they ruin almost all of the characters in that film. Here I don't feel any characters got ruined

I wonder why no one is pushing for a director's cut of this movie. The acting and filmmaking is overall quite good and doesn't hide behind a campy tone like the Raimi movies which does a disservice to Dane Dehaan and Jamie Foxx's performances as they come out of this campier than they should given the tone. I thought Dane Dehaan was amazing casting even as a crybaby I loved him in the first half but his plotline felt forced and out of place.
It's a mess of a movie but feels more like cinema than the MCU outings.

I'm not sure if there's enough deleted scenes for a directors cut but if there is then I would definitely like to get one for sure! Dane DeHaan was a really good casting. It sucks they wasted him though

wtf? just bc he has a skateboard doesnt mean he's cool i swear to god thats such a dumb complaint and also r u forgetting that peter in the comics was never really shy or akward? he was confident, had an atitude and doesnt take shit from anybody you definitly dont know how peter acts in the comics your just looking at the adaptations that portray him like that

    • @Film1000Channel
      @Film1000Channel  13 дней назад

All I said is I prefer for Peters to be acting that way. It's not a complaint about the actual movie. I'm just saying I don't think Andrew Garfield is the best Spider-Man because of that reason. He's still top 5 for me for sure and the second best live action Spider-Man in my opinion. It's not just the skateboard. He literally went on stage at the graduation and kissed Gwen like he is the most confident guy in the world lol. Theres many more examples. Are you saying Peter from the comics is like TASM's Peter? I really don't see how they are similar. Peter is a bit more nerdy and Andrew's Peter is not which is fine but it doesn't make him the perfect Spider-Man to me. Peter became a more confident person in the 70's era of comics for sure but I still saw him as a bit nerdy even in that era

      "Doesn't take shit from anybody"
Peter Parker...? The comic book character most known for being a bullied science nerd and taking endless shit...? Flash Thompson literally exists because Peter Parker took so much shit in his early days. When he is Spider-Man, under the mask, Peter becomes confident, witty and a badass. But Peter Parker himself was a very mild mannered guy that rarely ever pushed back unless it was absolutely necessary. That's the entire concept of 'with great power comes great responsibility'. I'm curious what comic run you've read that portrays Peter Parker as what you've described...

I don't think box office numbers determine how good or bad a movie is but besides that point like I said in my video, TASM 2 was just an ok movie. I think it gets a bit too much hate by the way some say it's flat out bad and the worst Spider-Man movie which I don't see this being the worst or this being a bad film

@Film1000Channel no it does, you and alot of fans are trying to hard to push this narrative that this movie was good when it wasn't. Garfield is an incredible actor no question about it but that second movie of his is so pointless.
