I played Harold Bride last fall and it bothered me that no explanation was given how Bride got off the ship. On opening night it dawned on me how to do it. I was all ready to go on for the ending, but I ran upstairs to the backstage bathroom and wet my hair. It was perfect! People were saying that just seeing that was how they knew that he was not on the lifeboats, but had been pulled from the water. It's amazing how the simplest things can add the most!

God I love that show. The music is georguse and "Godspeed Titanic(reprise)" has possiably the most hauntingly beautieful harmonies in the history of musical theater.

Scotty Newlands. I met him last summer we're both in the reserves. He's army, I'm navy. Just saw him today actually. We performed together at the Steelback Grand Prix of Toronto. I was in the mass military band and he sang the national anthem. He's a really nice guy.

No he's Jack Thayer the son of a middle-aged couple, John and Marion. He's running around because he's excited and his dad gave him a boat as a gift. There's a whole thing in the show where John, the dad, gives Jack, his son, this boat at the start. In "To the Lifeboats" Jack gives it back to his dad. Then when the dead and alive come together John gives the boat back to Jack. Oh and the Thayers are American.

He's the son of John and Marian Thayer. John Thayer was the Vice-President of the Pennsylvania railroad, one of the American millionaires on board.
Always amused by the fact that Jack is portrayed as a little boy even though he was 17 at the time of the sinking...and never got into a lifeboat with his mother. Ah, well. Creative licence, and all that.

He went down with the Titanic but he was one of the lucky ones to be pulled out of the water. Just before this song starts they all say a little something. This is were Etches mentions about being saved.

Yeah, we were wondering about etches and bride, they're the magical survivors of Titanic, but yes several people were saved out of the water, I guess he was truly lucky

Etches doesn't mention anything about being saved and Bride gets on a lifeboat.

Oh God. This song sounds brutal to sing. Looks like I'm going to be losing my voice after every rehearsal for this show next year- it's my school musical.

Funny thing is, you are now the correct age that Jack Thayer would have been when he sailed Titanic!

In this production, "Bride" is singing the beginning solo.
I'm not sure about the original production.

Pause at 3:32. I'm that kid next to Ismay (the guy with the 'stache). This was 2006, and I was 12. I'm now 17, and 5'11".

In reality, Etches had escaped in lifeboat #5 early on.

the solo in the beginning is barrett

Luke Hamilton barrett is dead when this is sung. It's bride singing a part of "The Proposal," which barrett originally sings
