Thanks for the video. I just started this kit. I just finished the Mould King bucket excavator, and it too is really hard to find a place to hold on to it to move it. Perhaps a rectangular piece of plywood to put under it and the same for this tow truck would make things easier.

I didn't like how the rear legs extended faster than the front ones. I found this out while assembling it. I was testing some functions and was watching the front legs extend when I heard a clicking noise. I saw that the rear legs were all the way out before the front ones. Later, I found a broken off gear tooth on the floor and investigated where it came from. I found the 12 tooth gear that meshes with the rack on the right rear leg was missing several teeth. I decided to change the gearing from 2 16 tooth gears, to a 12 tooth driving a 20 tooth gear to slow down the rear legs. I wanted to use an 8 tooth to drive a 24 tooth gear, but the 24 tooth gear wouldn't fit in the space. The rear legs were still too fast, so I also changed the front legs gearing. I changed 2 16 tooth gears to a 20 tooth driving a 12 tooth gear to speed up the front legs. Now they move down at the same speed. The mods I made were easy to do without using any other parts other than the 12 and 20 tooth gears to replace the 16 tooth ones. I also added beams under the counterweights support so they don't sag down anymore.

Thanks for sharing. Amy major quality issues with the linear actuators or pneumatics? I've always found this to be the weak spot with MK.

Actually, I had one of the pneumatics top part of the piston was sort of broken when I pulled it out of its package, but I was able to super glue it back and it worked perfectly! I'm confident MK would have replaced it no problem, but the wait is certainly no fun

Yeah, I've found their bricks and technic stuff to be top notch. It's almost like their mechanical stuff doesn't get tested or QC'd. I feel like if they sort that out, and they continue their trend toward proper IP/ licensing, they're really gonna give TLG some agita.
