Yup. Lots of teams have comparable forward rosters, but most of those do not have comparable netminding. That's the difference so far. This is awesome for a fan base that's had multiple years of dashed hopes.

They weren't robbed in 2011. They blew it. Scoring dried up when it mattered most.
Up 3-1 with 2 of the remaining 3 games at home.
True championship calibre teams don't lose those series.
As far as 1994 goes, the only robbery was Nathan Lafayette hitting the crossbar. Lol.
That was a great series,it was just unfortunate that the Canucks lost

@@alexandermacdougall7873 The officiating changed in 2011 and Canucks had way more injuries. A team that had the edge on the PP suddenly stopped getting PP chances. I think Marchand just kept punching Daniel in the head (didn't fight back) and BOTH got roughing penalties being the most notable example.
Yes, injuries are part of the game, but it just so happened the Canucks had way way more.
      Hamhuis - out
      Samuelsson - out
      Malholtra - eye-injury, at max 20% efficiency
      Kesler - torn groin
      Edler - broken fingers
      Ehrhoff - dislocated shoulder
      Raymond - broken back
      Salo - groin
      Higgins - broken foot
      Alberts - undisclosed
The injury situation got so bad, they were prepping Yann Sauve and Nolan Baumgartner for game action. Most people probably have to hockeyDB those two players.
Both teams 100%, the Canucks would have won. But the blame is on them for not closing out the Hawks in 4.... probably would have made a difference in the long run.

What we see is the result of a couple of seasons of trying to get there, reaching the playoffs. Canucks never had the consistency, but always had the will. With new better players to the roster and Tocchet's focus on it's consistency, you see stuff like this, a game they would otherwise lose if this was the previous season.

If Tkachuk scores there 'nucks are down a goal and now they're scrambling, and could easily have gotten away from them. Are you kidding me!!! Canucks are 10-2-1 😂. Plan the parade down Robson and Davie street all the way down through Stanley Park. Canucks are cup contenders y’all. Hughes, Pettersson, JT Miller, Boeser, Hronek, Demko all in their prime and hungry to win. Eddy G in El Salvador on satellite 🛰️ wifi and back in Vancouver in April in time for the Canucks playoff run in 2024!. So much good content for Vancouver sports radio and podcasts like Rink Wide with Jeff Patterson and Halford and Brough 650am radio in Vancouver and the feud between Thomas Drance and Rick Daliwal is lit. The 2023/24 Vancouver Canucks are the only team since the 1984/85 Edmonton Oilers to score this many goals in their first 13 games of the season. That year the Oilers went on to win the Stanley Cup. You can certainly see the similarities between both teams. Pettersson {Gretzky}, JT Miller {Messier}, Hughes {Coffey}, Hronek {Huddy} Boeser {Kurri}, Demko {Fuhr/Moog}.
