    When I made my earlier comment on another video of yours about sand in a wing, I didn't know you had already done one a week ago on that subject. Anyway, this one is really needed too. Thank you!

    Thanks so much for this, just spent a week kiting at the beach then flying from dusty LZs also with a black wing which shows the dust and dirt very easily... This is the first video ive found which shows the cleaning process so well. Looking forward to flying with you in Norcal next time you are up :)

    Good video....your wing looks far better...thanks.
    I saw a video where a guy washed his wing by hand in Woolite.
    It was about a 16 oz bottle and he used half with a ~ gallon of water, lightly agitated and then rinced. He did it again with the other half and rinced thoroughly with clean water, letting the wing air dry.
    Evidently Woolite is mild and easy on the fabric while actually cleaning. He kept his risers, and as much of his lines as he could, out of the water & Woolite.
    Good video. Thanks for sharing your technique.

      thanks bro! i personally wouldn't wash it that way because if lines gets wet it will most likely shrink and get your wing out of trim

    Awesome! Just spoke to you on Facebook about flying sites. Didn't know you had a channel or a school! Great tips, my wings are getting pretty dusty from the past year or so here in the dessert.

    great video! i am only flying at the beach. i was hanging my wing upside down from a fence and couldnt get the bloody sand out. how could i have such a knot in my brain to not see this easy solution myself? well we always learn.
    about lines i read. not gonna touch them and not need wash my wing as well but the risers i really wanna dump into water bucket. again without touching any lines. everytime i go to beach with others i carefully place my risers ON the wing to prevent them getting full of dirty sand. but for some strange reason the muppets i fly with feel the urge to "help me" unfolding my wing every single damn time and throw my risers in the soft sand. 🤬
    i wanna sell this wing and get it clean. risers really look dark and terrible. total flight time on that wing include kiting probably less than 5 hours in 2 years. what are your thoughts on this?

    water makes your porosity test so bad

    • @STAYBAD
      @STAYBAD  Год назад

      Not at all, no scrubbing or chemical, wing has plus 350 hours , and passed full inspection last month. perfect porosity (1000sec exactly) which is awesome

    so if people constantly dunk there wings in lakes during SIV courses and we are told just dry it out it will be ok, Then why cant we dunk it in a kids plastic pool full of clean water and agitate it with your hands then wipe clean ?

    • @STAYBAD
      @STAYBAD  3 года назад +1

      there's few things to it, one fabric needs to dry evenly if it was the case and two you would most likely need to replace lines way sooner since it would certainly shrink (lines) and get you out of trim
