Abstract: Data analytics best practices are important guidelines to follow whenever possible, but what do you when you cannot apply them? This talk will cover how to determine when they don’t apply, what to do in that case, and how to explain and defend your analysis to stakeholders.
Bio: A graduate of St. Mary’s College of Maryland, Frederick studied Mathematics and Mandarin Chinese. He put his mathematics skills to use out of college working for the Naval Aviation (NAVAIR) cost department. There he learned how to use R as a part of contract analysis. He then went on to be a founding member of the Proposal Analysis Team where he would go on to create shiny apps, Qlik and tableau dashboards, and help improve the data literacy of NAVAIR’s procurement group.
