One of the best videos on data compression; it contains very detailed and easy to understand examples that can be used in implementing a new compression method, such as combining two or more different algorithms, based on the content of file. In other words, this video is inspired. Thank you, sir!
It's 2021. I have a 256Gb microSD that's about the size of my smallest fingernail. And yet, '.tar' is still a data storage identifier. I used 'tar' quite often on a UNIX system in '78 because the evolving content of text files on its 8Mb of online disk storage had to be "swapped to tape". Ah, sweet nostalgia... 🙂 Really enjoyed the clear, concise presentation... Thank you!
one of the best tech presentations ive seen, concise and to the point and not overly technical, thanks Andrew

Amazing job explaIning compression! the best video about compression I have seen on youtube so far!
Excellent!
I actually did a dictionary-less compressor for log file, with some data loss.
Very good explanation. Thank you.
Such a great video, thank you very much.
Great video, I understand compression more now
I want to make one but I don't want to waste my time on that.
