James Wilkes Pistons Sampler

January 2, 1983 - A product of a Larry Brown-led 1980 UCLA team that featured seven players who'd go on to be drafted and/or appear in an NBA game, Los Angeles native James Wilkes played three seasons in the NBA as a member of the Chicago Bulls and Detroit Pistons. Here, Wilkes scored his Pistons career high (8 points) in just his second day with the ballclub, a timeline too tight to secure Wilkes with a jersey with his own name on the back. Brought aboard to temper Detroit's injury woes, Wilkes appeared in nine games with the team and averaged 3.8 points.
