That's Child abuse plain and simple.
Expecting a child to be capable of holding their bowels/bladder for the same span as an adult is stupid as hell, not to mention the host of medical issues it can cause as a mere product.

That's human abuse: food, water, air and toilet are basic need that should never be withould for any reasons.and should never be denied for punishment..if in a school any of this becomes a disciplinary tool that school need to be reported immediately.

Plus the fact that some have medical issues. I have IC and endometriosis. I filled my entire page of sign outs for the bathroom within the first month of school in 7th grade. IC comes with urgency very often, as well as pain, bad enough that I’d literally throw up just from a mildly full bladder.
Imagine a bladder infection/kidney infection or a really severe untreated UTI and that is what I feel almost daily.
My mom got a school shut down when I was in kindergarten cause I got punished for having to use the bathroom. She never didn’t tell that story when I started at a new school and she informed them that she would pursue it to the fullest extent of the law if that ever happens again because of my medical history. Nobody ever dared to deny bathrooms. I got lectured by it by a teacher in that 7th grade, ONCE. My parents showed up that next day. I never was spoken in any negative way ever again or questioned by that teacher.
Yeah these kind of stories really piss me off.
Plus I started periods at the age of 8, so the end of 3rd grade.
And I have endometriosis, which also caused extremely heavy periods and every 1-2 hours I’d have to go to the bathroom and change or I’d leak through everything. I hid it from age 8-12 from everyone I could.
So that also needs to be considered when discussing females.
In that kindergarten class the way that teacher treated me really traumatized me cause she would make me a visual ‘lesson’ to the entire class. From age 6-7 I started refusing to drink any water during the day anymore because of fear that I’d have to go to the bathroom.
I got a lot of severe dehydration scares, had to be hospitalized for an IV of fluids at one point, and caused 2 kidney infections in a 4 month period.
Mind you I lived in Arizona at the time and it was hot during these days, it was dangerous for me to be going from 7am-3 or 4pm with zero fluids.
So yeah. These teachers have a special place in hell if you ask me. 😂

Sadly kids abuse the right. But I still think that some bathroom rules are just stupid since kids find ways around a lot of rules anyways. When I was under 10 I wanted to do a bathroom meetup with my then bestie, and the teacher said no since they knew we were close. I asked another teacher who didn’t know about it. Regretted it afterwards and we weren’t there long but yeah… kids rly do abuse it and if ruins it for others. For younger kids it’s usually to mess around, for older kids it’s to gossip or… stuff you aren’t supposed to do. Really sucks, especially considering that I rarely and I mean rarely use school bathrooms. I only ever used my gym one a few times towards the end cuz I found out it was clean, and then the general one once throughout my entire stay at that school. Didn’t even know where the girl bathrooms were…

When I was in 8th grade and suffering from PCOS/ extremely heavy- painful period, we had this same planner thing. I'd get most teachers to sign my planner, but there were several teachers and subs that refused and said I should have gone between classes- even though the last teacher kept me late to discuss upcoming homework. Anyway, having an emergency and needing the restroom for obvious things, I quietly asked the teacher to go and she just stared me down like I was muck on her shoe. She refused and told me to sit down or she'd fail me. So I did... Sat there and ended up with a large puddle of you know what under me, on the wooden chair and when I stood up, all the way down my legs. I just stood there while the boys ran from the room and the girls all yelled at the teacher, horrified... The teacher was reprimanded by my father and the principal and from then on, if I needed the restroom, I just quietly slipped out of the room, quickly did what I needed and then slipped back into the classroom. Some rules are so stupid, and I'm a certified teacher now, lol!

Second. Can parents finally teach their gods damned kids basic knowledge about their rights? Teacher has no control over kid's movement and any kid can just leave the class and go to the bathroom or wherever else. That's the first thing I taught my kids when they went to school - that if you have a reason, you just ignore teacher and do what you must, they have no say and no control over your freedom of movement, they have no right to take possession of your property, no right to go through your phone.

I have loads of teachers at my school that deny EVERYONE to use the toilet (even girls on their cycle)
There's one new teacher officially a teacher in September and the 3 lessons I had with him a ton of girls were on their cycle (2 week time period) And they explore to him very simple that they were on their period. For all those girls he denied them all to go to the bathroom and started yelling that periods are fake or in his words "THEY'RE A HOAX TO GO TOILET" And forced them to sit in a dry blood soaked pad or tampon with possible blood dripping down their leg
Once I had my period in his lesson and said that I really needed to go to the bathroom and I was on my period again he said they were fake and forced me to sit down and told all us girls (Especially me since I asked 3 times in his lesson) "You all know periods are fake and if they are real you can hold it in like all the boys" I was still stood at his desk getting angrier as he praised the boys for not having "Fake periods" and as soon as he finished yelling at me again I turned back to him and told him "Alright sir I know you definitely don't have periods for obvious reasons but us girls physically can't hold it in" he again said I was lying and I quickly responded "Sir if you accidentally got a cut on your finger or arm or something would you be able to hold the blood in for a while?" he replied obviously not and I said "Well then that's what periods are it's literal BLOOD pouring out our bodies and clearly you failed school because that's basic knowledge" I then grabbed my bag and jacket and walked out
I ended up getting searched for in the school but I was hiding in the bathroom and on the phone with my mother asking her to pick me up and that I'd be waiting outside for her or I'll walk home (My house is about 30-40 minutes away on foot) My mum obviously refused so I went outside of the school at 10 am and jumped the fence into the playground behind school I sat on the swing for a bit (apparently an hour because I heard the bell for break and hundreds of footsteps) before anyone could see me I left the park and walked across town I decided to go around the town and too the beach before walked along the prom to my house whilst on the phone with my mum
safe to say he never denied a girl and I got a VERY long telling off and a meeting with my mum and the school

They were in a building near the back towards the open field. High school is different with classes being all over the place. Again had 5 minutes to get to class. My favorite phrase from teachers was, "I can walk from one side of campus to the other and have time to say hi to another teacher and STILL get to class on time. You have no excuse!" Which i call bs. (Bearing in mind I’m from UK when I mention the types of schools) In my primary school, the teachers had a rule that you couldn’t go to the toilet if someone else left the classroom for any reason, even if the other student hadn’t gone to the toilet themselves (e.g. to get a water bottle refilled) so only one student was allowed out at any one time. It didn’t work too well because some of the people who left the classroom just wandered around instead of what they’d asked to do, so whoever needed to go to the toilet just had to stand and wait at the door as they tried not to pee themselves waiting for the other student to come back.
At my high school, some of the teachers were lenient about leaving to go to the toilet and would just let you go so long as you were polite about asking. Others absolutely _refused_ to let you go to the toilet during lessons unless you had a medical condition they were aware of that might affect bowel/bladder control. The main response of most teachers was “you should have gone at break/lunch, that’s what it’s there for.” Problem with that was that there weren’t many toilets throughout the school and the break/lunch staff were told to only let six students into each of the toilets at a time because that’s how many toilet stalls there were in the bathrooms - only they didn’t usually check who was in there and a lot of people used them as a hangout area if they didn’t want to go outside, so you couldn’t even go to the toilet during break/lunch because they wouldn’t let you in.
I had a few classmates who literally peed themselves when they were _15-16_ because they weren’t allowed to go to the toilet, and one friend who nearly _always_ had a bladder infection for the entirety of the time we were at school for because the teachers would make her just hold it.

Our school only does it bc (we get two a day and hall passes in the back of the book) the boys draw on the stalls/walls, shove paper towels in the toilets/urinals and so now their paper towels sit outside of the bathroom. Thanks, boys. But I think it's fair. If it's an emergency and the passes are full, we just have to take the book with us.

    It's painful!!
The urine can back up into your kidneys and cause damage!
It can also cause UTIs, bladder infection and kidney issues.
It's even worse in children because their bladders are not fully developed yet.

In hs I asked to go to the restroom durring english my teacher said no to hold off till break. We were in the middle of a 2hr block. I stood up and made my way to the door she ran to block the door and told me to sit down. I asked her if she thought she could physically stop me from peeing because I know I couldnt hold it, so I either go pee in the restroom or im pissing in the trashcan infront of everyone and she can explain why the kid that is never in trouble and literally won awards for the hs was humiliated in front of his peers. She gave me a quizzacal look and then she stepped past me to get back to the front of the room. She apparently talked to the vic principal about how best to punish me in a teacher meeting the next morning and got laught at for being pee patrol. She relaxed alot of her more totalitarian rules.

I had a teacher once try and deny me going to the bathroom when I was really sick and about to puke. She said no, but I couldn't just sit there and ended up puking all over the textbook and desk. She let me go after that. Meanwhile, my mother in high school, in all her teenage glory, asked a male teacher to use the restroom. He told her no, which she replied, very loudly, that she was going to sit there and bleed all over if he didn't (she had just started her period). The teacher was horrified and let her go. Hence why I told my kids that if they ever needed to go, just go, and I'd deal with the fallout.

This happens in my lessons but I have never been denied. I don’t like going in school because of what the boys have done (aka drvgs) and I’m never sure if they sneak in the girls because I was told that a bunch of boys did before. If you want to go to the toilet, you have to have a pass or it has to be 10 minutes after the lesson. When there is 10 minutes left you can’t either. Our toilets have been locked and the staff forget to open them for passing periods, break and lunch all the time. We can rarely use the toilets and then they moan at us for not going. Their toilets aren’t locked tho are they? The only time I asked to go to the bathroom was when I realised my skirt was inside out and my math teacher knew very well that I wouldn’t just mess around so I literally had to sprint to the toilets before they locked it. Schools are horrible to us about going to the toilet.

Bro, at my school we used to have five min to get from one class to another and keep in mind. We have 8 buildings. I guess that would be enough time to get to ur next class right? Well, a year later, they changed the time to four min because of fights that would happen in between periods. And no one was able to go to the bathroom then, you learn how much a minute can really help you out when you don’t want to be late to a class. And then a year later, they changed it to three minutes because kids would gang up in the bathrooms and vape!! (And they really dgaf if they got in trouble, so like what was the freaking point) now we only have three minutes to get from one class to another and most kids schedules go from building one to building eight, which makes them have to walk around the whole damn school in three minutes!🤦‍♀️ into top it all off most teachers still expect you to have been able to go to the bathroom and that amount of time. A few of my teachers only let kids go to the bathroom two times per semester!!!

They made us use a website that tracked the time it took and if you were too close to the 5 minutes you got, you got in trouble. The bad part was the boys bathroom was like 15 second away but the girls could only use the bathroom 2 minutes away, we couldn’t use the one that was one floor down and 30 seconds away. That meant. that the girl only had about a minute to use the bathroom. We also had 1 a day.

this is kinda like my school but we have completely electronic passes (using our ipads) anyhow you only get two a day and all of the teachers can see how many you’ve used, how long you were in there, they can deny them, and each teacher gets to see who all is in the hall so if they feel like you’re going out there just to talk or something they won’t let you go. and if you go to another teacher the next teacher has to approve that you got there. if you’re somewhere past five minutes you get flagged and some teachers won’t let you go after that. our passes are about to be five a month which people know is not enough for a middle schooler especially a girl because in middle school most girls get their menstrual cycle and need to change their pad/tampon. and our passes are getting out of hand so most people will get less than others. thoughts on this?
