Going into year 5 with my Raptor SD 54”. Never let me down yet. I pulled the deck over the winter and replaced the spindle bearings, an idler pulley, cleaned and painted the underside of the deck with new belts. Only 300 hrs but my property is like driving over a washboard so no complaints whatsoever.

The drive belt gets chewed up as the trans brackets fail and then the hydro tilts sideways and starts throwing the belt off. Upgraded trans brackets (Thicker ones) are available as a kit thru Hustler. Great info here! Really appreciate it! I have an old 2010 Hustler 36" Fastrak myself. Love these beasts. Easy to work on too!

Have you had any cracks on the SD with the front wheel crossmember cracking and paint coming off?

Very minor but it all depends upon how much its in or out of the elements at night.

Please do a drive belt replacement on the XD.

Great thought. We should be able to do that, we have to replace them at least twice a year

I just bought a Raptor XD with 48 deck. The stock tires are the 20x8x10 which are little narrow. Would I be able to put the larger 20x12x12 tires on which come on the Raptor XD 54?

Did you ever find out if the bigger wheels/tires would work?

@@photoray002 no unfortunately I didn’t want to risk putting a larger set on. Just dealing with the size it came with. It’s not too bad I guess.

@@TexasI45 Dont blame you then. In AZ, the going price for that 48in is $5249 currently. Hope you got a better price than I can.

Have you had any transmission issues? I have a 2013 FasTrak with only 357 hours and the ZT3100 right side pump is about ready to fail. It still, works but is making an awful noise. It was serviced according to schedule at 200 hours. I’m very disappointed as I only mow my flat 1/2 acre lot with it and thought it would be my last mower, being it’s an entry level “commercial” grade mower.

I have not. We had one 2019 SD Hustler 54 mower just go out on us that had 1115 hour on it. But it was the engine that went out not the transmission.

@@troxelservices …. Thank you for your response. My FasTrak was making an awful noise on the right side so I took it to the nearest dealer (15 minute drive) that sells and services Hustlers. They replaced 2 idler pulleys that evidently didn’t need replaced because they called and told me it didn’t fix the noise issue. Charged me $311 to NOT fix it. They told me the right side pump was the source of the noise and since the tractor was still operating fine to just run it until it craps out. Their estimate to replace the ZT3100 was $1800 plus labor and tax…so around $2200. I picked up the tractor and considered parting it out but decided to get a 2nd opinion. I took it to a dealer almost an hour away and didn’t mention anything about what the other dealer had said. They called me after a week (their service department was booked that far out) and told me the problem was the fan pulley on the right side pump and ask for permission to replace it. When I asked how much they told me $121 total!!! I then told them about the other dealer and their incompetence and/or dishonesty. Their response was “those are the kinda guys who give the rest of us a bad name”. They went on to say it took their tech about 3 minutes to diagnose the fan pulley problem. So…all is good and my 10 year old FasTrak is as good as new.

This young man did an excellent presentation on this. I’ve watched a lot of reviews on Hustler. What a great, great review.
