Reece either doesn't have the legs to go forward anymore, or he's been instructed by Maresca to sit back. Therefore Reece needs to play on the right with Neto in front him, so Cucurella can play on the left with Sancho, who does his best work with a FB who overlaps. That's Chelsea's best lineup right now.
Thing is Chelsea started like this with Gusto and Marc. I don't understand why Marc is on the bench though. We looked better in the second half with the runs Marc made
Caicedo and Lavia partner is good defensively but attacking wise is not good for us because, They are not good with in creating opportunity for Palmer to create chances
That's what I've noticed in the past 3 games.. our defenders are better protected with Lavia on pitch and we are better going forward with Enzo.. he doesn't look like he is doing anything special on the pitch but it all come down to the amount of correct passes he makes to kick start most of the good moments we go forward..
Apart from Mois, I think Neto was great today, did not stop running, won many balls back. I think it was a difficult game to play at times, especially when they hit us on the counter, and mainly because they have just sacked 10 Hugs.. that gives the players an extra motif sometimes, like a mini boost. Disappointed we haven't created much chances, though I feel our midfield was always in control of the ball. Pity we haven't created any dangerous chances upfront. Glad Palmer got away uninjured from the Martinez challenge towards the end, sigh of relief seeing him finish the match. That Mudryk seems good enough for the Conference League. At the end of it all, Glad with a point. Great work ethic and energy!! Up the Blues!!

1. I thought we got in a set piece specialist from Branford.. but there is literally nothing special about how we take set pieces or defend them.. 2. Robert Sanchez.. we better be looking to bring in a goalkeeper in January or we might fail to make top 4.. 3. It might be a tough one but Maresca has to do it.. Reece or Malo on the starting line up we really don't need one of them play at left back unless Cucurella is unavailable to play it really doesn't do justice the left winger which was Neto in this case.. 4. Palmer can not perform miracles every game.. he should be allowed to be subbed off for Felix or Nkunku when he has an average performance where it feels like nothing is gonna come from him.. 5. It wasn't a bad performance overall but united didn't deserve the respect we showed them in this game especially in the state they're in.. I am really disappointed in the results of this game it was an opportunity for us to climb into to third place after villa and arsenal dropped points.. now we have arsenal next and with the way we have been playing lately it will be a miracle if we take full points from them..
What killed us today honestly if you watched the game critically is Maresca's slow build up plan and to this I will defend Madueke's and Neto's on the wings performance today. the build up from the defenders to the midfielders and then the forwards is too damn slow, by the time both wingers receive the ball the opponents defense is set with 2 players marking the winger and if the wingers manage to get the ball early enough there is no support for them and they have to recycle the ball back, and this has been happening since we started to pair Caiecedo and Lavia (Good defensively but terrible offensively) which is why i say don't get rid of Enzo Fernandez yet. our chance creation has dipped and so the amount of goals we've scored when those two play together isn't more than 2 goals per match and yet we still concede goals.
Exactly my thoughts and it's not only the wingers even Jackson and Palmer have since gone a lil silent.. I guess we have to choose what's better: defend slightly better while still conceding goals anyway but scoring less or concede more goals but outscore our opponents.. maybe some games will need a Lavia but most games will definitely need an Enzo..
I agree with you on Lavia. Much flair and less output. Defensively better but offensively worse than Enzo Fernandez. If Enzo recovers from his family problems and engages his mind more positively, he should be in overall play a better player than Lavia.
This effort was truly uninspiring. Man U have relatively good speed at the full back and CB positions. Ugarte and Casemiro are SLOW. Jackson needed to work harder to draw the CBs wide to create space behind Ugarte and Casemiro. That said, strikers need tending. There were very few balls into him where he could make an attempt. You have to reward a striker’s off the ball movement while in possession to keep them making the moves, both selfish and unselfish… I don’t know if that’s by design or what.

To crown it all, i think Maresca is poor today. Its an awful performance in general and i blame the coach for this! The battle was always going to be on the midfield, in games like this, when the best wingers are poor, i will bring in felix and take palmer to the right and better still take neto out and bring in enzo. So that felix can go to the left. I wont take out lavia, instead i will dominate the midfield to bring the best out of palmer, knowing this can give him the leverage to be a free role player, the same thing that made him the best player in the league under Poch! BRING IN PLAYERS WITH MIDFIELD EXPERIENCES WHEN YOUR BEST WINGERS ARE MAPPED OUT OF THE GAME. We saw this in the game against liverpool and we are seeing the same here. Guardiola will always dominate your midfield and force you to defend and that's when you will be forced to make mistakes. Who said enzo, caicedo, lavia, felix and palmer, cant fixture in one game? With these players all complementing the midfield, i dont see us losing midfield battles in big games. There must be a plan B to win midfield battles in big games and i think this is it

I don't want to accept that Sanchez was responsible for the penalty. Colwel was tge one who gave tge penalty away with his blunder that made Sanchez had the foot of the Man utd player. How could you be a central Defender and loss control of your ball more often. It is tolerable only on very few occasions. That was a calamity from Livil Colwell. I expected him to defend better. Wesley Fofana was extremely solid at the back comoare to Colwell.
