In Device Settings, under Notification Settings, there is an option for App Alert Tones. Under App Alert Tones, there are two settings you can change: One for Rings and one for Motion. You can set the different sounds for Motion Detection and Ring detection, or change them both to the same sound that is different from the default.

      Hello, wizkid01.
      At this time there is no way to change the doorbell's ringtone. However, Ring Quick Replies and Alexa Greetings allow you to customize the experience of those that visit your home.
      Quick Replies is a smart doorbell feature, similar to an answering machine for your door, available for almost all Ring doorbells in the US and Canada. Once the feature is activated, and someone rings your doorbell, the visitor will hear a pre-selected message and can leave a reply, unless customized otherwise. There’s no subscription required for Quick Replies. However, only Ring Protect Plan subscribers will be able to access and review recordings of Quick Replies interactions in their Event History.
      To learn more about Quick Replies please see this Help Center article: support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360056808171-Setting-up-Quick-Replies-in-the-Ring-App-

I had a different tone (than the default one) when I first installed the system, but I had some problems recently and I had to reset everything to factory default and now I cant find the “change tone” option anywhere to pit the one I liked and had before? Are you forcing us to buy the chime pro adapter? Do you know that the volume from the base station and keypad is enough for most people and the changing tone ability worked fine? Just why? Why? Whyy? 🤔
    So, for everyone to know… in the past, you where able to do all this sound options modifications to the keypads and home base station and the sound was great, but seem Ring disable that option to forced newcomers to buy the Chime pro useless device… knowing this, you wont get fooled by any Ring advisor here telling you that you need a Chime Pro bla bla…

    Where are the controls for the sounds on your own phone? I cannot find them anymore. My phone no longer alerts me and would like to change/reset them. I’ve searched all over this app and can find nothing. Please provide a link under all you other chime controls to access sounds for your own device. This app is horribly confusing. An expert in obfuscation could not make a worse menu system. An app’s ease of use and intuitiveness is directly proportional to how a company cares about its customers and this one gets an F.

    • @ring
      @ring  3 года назад

      Hi Clarence. Your peace of mind is tied to having full control over the app, and we'd like to help. Due to changes in iOS, the volume is now controlled through system settings. To change the volume, open your device dashboard, select 'Device Settings', 'Notification Settings', and then 'App Alert Tones'. Select your tone, and while it's playing, use the volume buttons on the side of the phone to adjust the app alert volume. You may have to select it several times to adjust the volume to your preferred level. Once complete, use the back button in the upper left corner to exit and your new tone settings will be saved. Let us know if you have any additional questions, we're here to help!

When selecting the ringtone phone volume was able to change the sound level in app. But even after powering down my phone. With the phone level set on the very lowest level with out turning off all sound. The app alerts are still above 50%. So far to keep people 70 feet away seating many tables away from hearing every alert I must put phone on vibrate.

    What a miserable piece of crap this is.
    First of all, the outer case is horribly corroded despite being covered and protected. THERE IS NO AVAIABLE REPLACEMENT PART FOR THIS. So either I have to buy a new unit or continue living with this ugly unit.
    Second, it's ABSURD that the default chime cannot be changed without buying a new "CHIME" unit. What a miserable and obviously money-grab. It's especially obnoxious since all the chime options are included with the device and show up in the app. They're just not accessible.
    What a horrible company.
