    I see old sad Noah watching as his Arc (A), full of future life, sinks into the boisterous sea. BTW, what is that object on the paper to the left of the image?

    • @TheLoomingMorrow

      That sounds poetic, thank you! The object is an oxidised metal pendant meant for jewellery making, I used it as a decoration prop.

    Really very nice and useful. You are Bravissima ! Could you show me a book to buy to learn how to draw medieval letters?

    • @TheLoomingMorrow
      @TheLoomingMorrow  2 года назад

      Thank you very much, Beatrice! 🌿 At the moment, I do not know any particular book that teaches that, however, it might help to study (look at and try to recreate) illustrations from old manuscripts. You can find some in the "Images" and "Resources" section on Wikipedia page called "Illuminated Manuscript" (scroll to the bottom of that page, the links to digitized manuscripts will be there). If you are interested in floral/ botanical ornaments, you might want to check tezhip or tazhib art.
      After doing studies of existing manuscript illuminations, you will have ideas of composition and color combinations as well as skills to create your own designs. Hope that helps, have a wonderful week!

    Beautiful work!! I just have one question. Are you painting with watercolor on top of a previous layer of watercolor? Thanks and thanks for sharing

    • @TheLoomingMorrow
      @TheLoomingMorrow  3 года назад

      Thank you very much for the kind words, Bill! 🌿 Which part of the video are you asking about?
      For this letter, watercolor pencils, colored pencils, gel and ink pens were used (you can find the whole list of materials in the description). Subtitles mention which color and media are being used for each painting step. If you see Albrecht Dürer in the subtitles- it refers to the watercolor pencil from Faber Castell (it has a series of watercolor pencils with Albrecht Dürer name). If it says Polychromos in the subtitles- then it refers to the colored pencil from Faber Castell (Polychromos is their series of colored pencils). So, it's painting with watercolor pencils upon a previous watercolor pencil layer. Hope that helps, have a lovely day! 🌷

      @@TheLoomingMorrow Thanks for your quick reply. Yes, that helps a lot. I was wondering if the water from the new layer of watercolor would activate the layer underneath, but (in your hands, anyway), it seems to work beautifully. Thanks again!!
