If you don't understand the video, it's about a man who is in the CSI, he sees murder and suicide every day, gradually, this gets to be overwhelming, and soon, the man get's depressed. He has had enough of seeing all the cruelty this world has to share, and ends it all by committing suicide, if you're wondering what this has to do with the lyrics, in the chorus it says 'This is the rhythm of my life,' what this is saying is that this is how he lives, he sees a variation of death each day (Like a rhythm changes through a song.) Also, the distorted voice is the man going crazy, growing more depressed and depressed until he sees the world like a different place. This is actually a very sad story, and it really shows how cruel this world is. (This all my thoughts and knowledge, it may not be correct but I think this is what it is showing us.)
it's incredible how many of these 90s dance anthems acctualy have a very deep meaning behind the beat and there should be more songs remastered like this.
Its 2 songs mashed into 1 Rhythm of the night by corona & Rhythm is a dancer by snap .You are right though what they transformed it into is beyond genius .
So what I'm getting from the music video is that it's literally the Rhythm Of The Night. It's about a detective who works at night, so he sees essentially the pattern. Which also goes with the second line, "This is the rhythm of my life." He sees that it's always the same and doesn't change. And I think this explains the ending, which is that he realizes it's never going to change and so he kills himself. I also just realized that the dead bodies speaking might symbolize that death is calling out to him or he's nearing death.
X- Wolf So, apparently, the video is about a CSI investigator who constantly sees murder or suicide cases, and, eventually, becomes so broken by depression at seeing it that he commits suicide.
This was a song of 2014 for me. Things went bleak. Its beautiful but I remember walking out at nights alone with unrequited dilemmas of my existential self. What a theme tralling the night.
I understand you so much. To me it was 2015, I was an inmigrant in London and I had so many lonely nights and this song helped me through many of them.
I was driving at night and this came on my playlist and I was like "I'm the detective!!" And then I realized that no, no I do not want to be the detective...

The end just gives me shivers and cant help and replay it. Best song of 2013 despite it being a re-imagining of 2 90s classics. Pompeii and Naughty Boy - La La La are up there too.
To people not understanding the video, It's about how the man keeps interacting with dead people, throughout the whole night his job keeps leading him to people that are dead, one after the other; in rythem. Throughout the video you can see him struggling with his job which leads to depression thus commiting suicide. He also struggles with the fact that his job is to try and prevent these deaths but as hard as he tries still fails making him even more depressed. So yeah.
I'm not sure if this is the case, but it also feels like the whole song is a sort of play on words, or a play on meaning, at least. The tone of the song, the style and some of the lyrics all sort of suggest it to be a song about partying, as most pop songs are these days. The song is sort of showing how when you hear songs referring to the night, it's always partying getting drunk, etc. but there is a whole other side to the night - robbery, suicide, violence, etc. So this song and it's video is sort of showing the other side of the coin, and how the night isn't always glamorous.

I am a 90s dance addict... I love the Corona version, I love this version equally, Bastille have made it their own as they do with each and every cover they take on, and Dans voice is simple yet beautiful. Im a professional singer, and tbh I love covering songs in my own style, thats what music is there for, to be appreciated and honoured and interpreted in our own way.
I come back to this video often. It's just so good. The music is of course the best, but the video concept is also incredible & on-brand for you guys. And during your live show that you streamed, which song did you guys really dig in & have a blast playing? All of them, but this one stood out as y'all just having a great time. Same, but this is the first time I see it with this video, and now I feel even worse xdxd There was another version were people turned into some kind of zombies (or was that pompeii?)
It is a lyrical mashup. "Of the Night" is a mash up of two 1990s Eurodance songs, the 1993 hit "The Rhythm of the Night" by Italian act Corona and the 1992 hit "Rhythm Is a Dancer" by German group Snap!"
It's hands on things. It's on the forensics spectrum.. but being in the action and knowing about it, too. Like, you go up to the scene and label evidence then take pictures. You're the person who maps everything out and sets it up then analyzes what's there. Crime scene stuff. Blood splatter analyzing, cause and effect, plus much more. Then you have to know about the laws as well (because you're technically a law student too. You have to know and play by those rules.) There's a wide field in that major- even medical (rape kits, therapist/consoling, etc.) which you learn as you go.
Vearya Vat To answer your question: yes and no. Not every case is a criminal (but it starts off that way.) My professor said they got a call one day about a car in a lake. Divers went down, opened the door, and a baby popped out at him. So.. you have to think about cases like that where there are just accidents in the end.
I had a look online for the analysis of the video, and you're more or less right. Due to the long, late nights of having to deal with murders and dead bodies, coupled with lack of sleep and older age, he seemed to have developed some sort of brief stress-induced psychosis where he sees the dead bodies singing to some random song and the bystanders and policemen dancing. In the end I think he figured out it was probably time to retire as a detective, but before he did that he was either shot himself (not sure if it was fatal or not), or committed suicide due to the distress it caused him, but likely the former...
I dont care what people say on here, all do is come here to criticize the song, its brilliant, yeah its a cover of 2 great songs, and nothing beats the originals, but its still amazing, they have taken the two songs and changed them to their own style,
All the people complaining that this remake is a ruined version are missing the point. What is amazing that when you alter the context of the exact same word, you can create a brand new song. A new story. Corona sang a song about dancing. Bastille transformed the song into the life lived by a person how gets to see only the tragedy of life. Stop being ignorant and understand art.
I agree, but I don't think Corona's song was about dancing. I think it was about pining after someone romantically that only wanted her sexually (or was depressed and unable to open up) and kept breaking things off. I do prefer this version though, it's far more atmospheric and strangely addictive.
Rhythm is a dancer, It's a soul's companion, People feel it everywhere, Lift your hands and voices, Free your mind and join us, You can feel it in the air, Oh oh, it's a passion, Oh oh, you can feel it yeah, Oh oh, it's a passion, Oh oh, oh, oh, oh, (THIS IS THE RHYTHM) You can put some joy up on my face, Oh sunshine in an empty place, Take me too, turn to and babe I'll make you stay, (OH YEAH) Oh I can ease you of your pain, Feel you give me love again, Round and round we go, Each time I hear you say, This is the rhythm of the night, the night, oh yeah, The rhythm of the night, This is the rhythm of my life, my life, oh yeah, The rhythm of my life, This is the rhythm of the night, the night, oh yeah, The rhythm of the night, This is the rhythm of my life, my life, oh yeah, The rhythm of my life, Wont you teach me how to love and learn, There'll be nothing left for me to yearn, Think of me and burn and let me hold your hand, Oh yeah-ah-eh, I don't want to face the world in tears, Please think again, I'm on my knees, Sing that song to me, No reason to repent, This is the rhythm of the night, the night, oh yeah, The rhythm of the night, This is the rhythm of my life, my life, oh yeah, The rhythm of my life, This is the rhythm of the night, the night, oh yeah, The rhythm of the night, This is the rhythm of my life, my life, oh yeah, The rhythm of my life, This is the rhythm of the night, the night, oh yeah, The rhythm of the night, This is the rhythm of my life, my life, oh yeah, The rhythm of my life, This is the rhythm of the night, the night, oh yeah.
This is actually how Corona should've turned the song. The rhythme of the night is sad and dark and bad and dangerous and that's it. I've always loved the song and I love this version so much. So many covered it and ruined it but Bastille did a great job. #YouGoBoys
My father was a CSI for the sheriff's department. The major difference between a soldier and a investigator is the investigator wages war every day. You can be the most mentally solid person in the world, but this job will eventually take its toll. Our society is sick, we need to do better.
Another masterpiece video AND song by Bastille (I know this is a remake) I always wonder why Bastille's videos have to do with death? I like that, though...

And in the 80s and 2010
Oh and also this is a remix of a song I think was from the 80s but don't quote me on it
+Randi Jenkins It is, the original song is: The rythm of the night by Corona
I am a 90s dance addict...
I love the Corona version, I love this version equally, Bastille have made it their own as they do with each and every cover they take on, and Dans voice is simple yet beautiful.
Im a professional singer, and tbh I love covering songs in my own style, thats what music is there for, to be appreciated and honoured and interpreted in our own way.
always have the most amazing songs ever!!
My jaw dropped to the floor when I was at a beach bar and they randomly played this exact song!! Surrounded by more popular songs!
"Rythm is a dancer" Snap e "This is the rythm of the nighr" Corona...il passato che ritorna sempre 😊
Gran bel mix 👏❤
What a beautiful mashup of two great old songs!
Wait I thought it was a remix of rhythm of the night what's the other song bro
Rhythm is a dancer

was that really necessary?
Doge is much necessary. Such need. Wow. Very doge.
Fiona Riley it's only 13 year old girls which do that crap (including my sister) which spend too much time on facebook
Why do people like you fell the need to be negative for no fucking reason at all.
Fiona Riley My reason was that fucking dog meme
I come back to this video often. It's just so good. The music is of course the best, but the video concept is also incredible & on-brand for you guys. And during your live show that you streamed, which song did you guys really dig in & have a blast playing? All of them, but this one stood out as y'all just having a great time. Not putting on a show. Just playing while having the time of your lives. Thank you🔺❤️
I don't know what cosmic law this is but i always heard (not intentionally listened to) this song at dark moments of my life
Chronic Fridge try lorn acid rain
Same, but this is the first time I see it with this video, and now I feel even worse xdxd
There was another version were people turned into some kind of zombies (or was that pompeii?)
mimo 'przerobienia' zrobili to genialnie, że codziennie po kilkanaście razy słucham ;- ))))))))
This is probably my favorite Bastille song😪👏🏾🙌🏾😴
🎤*
And it's not even an original song, just a remake 😜
CAPITIVS1897 More of a mash up/remix between Rhythm of the Night and Rhythm is a Dancer.
Where's the "Rhythm is a dancer" part? Because I didn't noticed anything.
It is a lyrical mashup.
"Of the Night" is a mash up of two 1990s Eurodance songs, the 1993 hit "The Rhythm of the Night" by Italian act Corona and the 1992 hit "Rhythm Is a Dancer" by German group Snap!"
all these years and it’s still one of my favourites ❤️
Video: fuckin amazing. Song: a goddamn awesome cover. Result: Somebody help me i can't stop hittin that replay button.
i'm afraid not
, i use infinitelooper.com XD
Tearing up..
I started a Criminalistics major in college but had to change once I opened the first book. Not every case is a criminal.
Is that like forensics? or does it have to do more with the law and morality?
It's hands on things. It's on the forensics spectrum.. but being in the action and knowing about it, too. Like, you go up to the scene and label evidence then take pictures. You're the person who maps everything out and sets it up then analyzes what's there. Crime scene stuff. Blood splatter analyzing, cause and effect, plus much more.
Then you have to know about the laws as well (because you're technically a law student too. You have to know and play by those rules.)
There's a wide field in that major- even medical (rape kits, therapist/consoling, etc.) which you learn as you go.
Java Does it have anything to do with criminal profiling? I'm choosing a career path and I stumbled upon your comment..
Vearya Vat You're seriously asking about it on RUclips? Why not just Google it or some ^.^
Vearya Vat To answer your question: yes and no. Not every case is a criminal (but it starts off that way.)
My professor said they got a call one day about a car in a lake. Divers went down, opened the door, and a baby popped out at him. So.. you have to think about cases like that where there are just accidents in the end.
This song never get old. Still one of my favorite song.
for an unexplainable reason, I have a deep connection with this fiction protagonist. It brings me to tears; more than I would like to admit.
6 years later... still in my most listened to playlist
Why does the music video make me as depressed as the guy. Like seriously, it’s so sad, especially the end.
To be brutally honest I think they ruined the old version by making this.
@@flyingcolors21 I think the music is better than the two original musics
every song of Bastille moves me, soooo good
Holy shit, this is dark...
I like this because it's possible to slow dance and party to. It's pretty well done. Nice one Bastille.
This music video deserves to have so much more views and attention. Do yourself and everyone else a favour, share the video.
Woke up today at 4:30 for bloody stocktake.
No one on the road.
Crank up the volume
This is the Rhythm of the Night! Woah woah!
ahahahha
the orginal is better
+Ashraf AlTaleb No, this has got better vocals
+Mikaela little Bagel nope
yep
The world needs this kind of music. Great! Amazing!
I would recommend a little different music
Why?
No tak
It's hard to believe I've been listening to this song for 10 years. Rhythm of the decade.
I dont care what people say on here, all do is come here to criticize the song, its brilliant, yeah its a cover of 2 great songs, and nothing beats the originals, but its still amazing, they have taken the two songs and changed them to their own style,
Well said
+1
couldent have said it better my self
That was really well said. Did you plan that out?
no i just said it as it was ;-;
Oh where did this music go? It didn't ever really go did it, it's been here this whole time. Waiting for us to rediscover it
This song is literally Rhythm of the Night by Corona and Rhythm is a Dancer by Snap.
They're literally just put together.
+Skabora It's literally a cover...
+Magpiestripe Literally.
+Skabora Psychologically.
+Skabora Sociologically.
+Skabora Sonically
it’s been 30 mins and i’m still not over this. this actually changed the trajectory of my brain
Twenty-twenty-one, third wave of pandemic and I re-discovered this masterpiece. Who’s here?
I'm here, homie. Entranced again. Be safe, fam.
Me
Pandemic dead
I cannot stop listening to this song. So haunting and beautiful
Ever just wish you could hear this song for the first time again??
This song is quite powerful
Ain't that the truth
TanishaTheKawaiiCreeper200 the original is better :P
Mitchell Thornton what is the original
Asian Fifa beast Corona - Rythm of the Night
Alex Johnson ok
Rhythm is a dancer,
It's a soul's companion,
People feel it everywhere,
Lift your hands and voices,
Free your mind and join us,
You can feel it in the air,
Oh oh, it's a passion,
Oh oh, you can feel it yeah,
Oh oh, it's a passion,
Oh oh, oh, oh, oh,
(THIS IS THE RHYTHM)
You can put some joy up on my face,
Oh sunshine in an empty place,
Take me too, turn to and babe I'll make you stay,
(OH YEAH)
Oh I can ease you of your pain,
Feel you give me love again,
Round and round we go,
Each time I hear you say,
This is the rhythm of the night, the night, oh yeah,
The rhythm of the night,
This is the rhythm of my life, my life, oh yeah,
The rhythm of my life,
This is the rhythm of the night, the night, oh yeah,
The rhythm of the night,
This is the rhythm of my life, my life, oh yeah,
The rhythm of my life,
Wont you teach me how to love and learn,
There'll be nothing left for me to yearn,
Think of me and burn and let me hold your hand,
Oh yeah-ah-eh,
I don't want to face the world in tears,
Please think again, I'm on my knees,
Sing that song to me,
No reason to repent,
This is the rhythm of the night, the night, oh yeah,
The rhythm of the night,
This is the rhythm of my life, my life, oh yeah,
The rhythm of my life,
This is the rhythm of the night, the night, oh yeah,
The rhythm of the night,
This is the rhythm of my life, my life, oh yeah,
The rhythm of my life,
This is the rhythm of the night, the night, oh yeah,
The rhythm of the night,
This is the rhythm of my life, my life, oh yeah,
The rhythm of my life,
This is the rhythm of the night, the night, oh yeah.

How the world turned around so much in 10 years is inconceivable 🙂
I'm glad I discovered this song, it's just a masterpiece

Ricardo Maia you are so in there mate
***** -_-
Ricardo Maia Crack on son!
Such a Great Mix from 2 off the greatest songs in the 90's...
"cant get enough! x"
I just love it... !
This is actually how Corona should've turned the song. The rhythme of the night is sad and dark and bad and dangerous and that's it. I've always loved the song and I love this version so much. So many covered it and ruined it but Bastille did a great job. #YouGoBoys
Rida LAAMOUMI It's two songs that they mashed up and made their own. Corona- Rhythm of the Night, Snap- Rhythm is a Dancer
Wrong Night can be fun too
Couldn’t have said any better
My father was a CSI for the sheriff's department. The major difference between a soldier and a investigator is the investigator wages war every day. You can be the most mentally solid person in the world, but this job will eventually take its toll. Our society is sick, we need to do better.
This is better that the original. Also it reminds me of GTA all the time haha :D
Better than the original!? WHAT!? Shut up. -_-
Cameron Calvert Its way better than the original!!!!!1
Really? Original of which song? Cuz there's 2 combined here
Jo Jo why would you bother pointing that out?? you know which song hes refering to. just so ppl know you know your shit yea?
Wow, you're fucking stupid.
Another masterpiece video AND song by Bastille (I know this is a remake) I always wonder why Bastille's videos have to do with death? I like that, though...
This is the rythm of my life.
This is the one of the greatest covers I've ever heard. Nice twist 👌 👍 👏
Love these indie pop vibes 😊
Yall should listen to Running by Retrofile ... Has Bastille vibes !!
