I have the Hioki CM4372. Fluke 376 was a little more money but doesn't seem to have the features as the Hioki does. The Amprobe 320/330 was another option but I felt the Hioki was where I wanted to spend my money. Its def the nicest meter Ive used and the real time bluetooth is convenient
Very nice consistent testing routine you got! This meter seems to be good value & features for the money paid, but I noticed the display: the viewing angle is poor or the contrast is not that great?
Hi Sir, I'm having Hioki 3256-50 Digital HiTester , it was working fine but unfortunately the battery leaked inside the unit and stopped working, I cleaned well and replaced the batteries but it's not turning on . Please assist me to fix .
Provide the time in the video that shows what you are talking about. I am guessing you are talking about ESR but I don't think that was mentioned in this video.
I've always heard good things about even the cheaper Hioki stuff, and it's all made in Japan. Their specialty is power quality analyzers so I'm really not surprised they went through so much trouble with protection on that multimeter, but then I've never seen a gas tube inside a portable meter before!
In terms of stability, quality and even overall performance. If I want to use for motorcycle, home appliances ,Pitot tube calibration and thermocouple calibration. how do you rank DT4252,117 and 17b+ thank you very much
Sorry but I can't be of much help. Really the best thing is for you to download all the manuals and make sure they do what you need before you buy anything.
Hi Joe bought the Hioki DT4253 when I was in Japan a week ago.. When I returned home last Thursday it was still working but now after 3 days it doesn't turn ON. Nothing is displayed. I have measured the batteries and its 6.15 volts so it was ok. Do we have a solution for this problem? Is there some kind of a factory reset? Thanks...
If you attempt to repair it you may void any warranty you have which could make matters worse. It's strange it would fair so early. I have had very good results with their equipment.
joe smith Yes I won't attempt repairing the unit. I've emailed Hioki but no reply yet since it's weekend. I was hoping that my meter is on sleep mode but when I tried pressing HOLD key while turning ON still nothing, no display. Anyway, I hope to receive reply from Hioki tomorrow. Thanks!
I guess because you like it is as good a reason as any. I tried testing a few of them and was amazed how weak their front end was. Not at all what I would expect after looking at their low cost meters.
Blaming? Strange choice of words. I am not sure how my statement about how weak the front end is turns into a question of blame. Obviously people are still buying the 87V. With it being a basic meter, older design, costly and not very robust, I am not sure why and was the reason I asked. Seems many people want them because they claim they are mechanically robust.
I want to buy a multimeter. However confused to choose hioki dt4252 with fluke 117. Both of them have the same basic range. Would you rather recommend which one to me?

@@joesmith-je3tq dave EEV blog was looking at this hioki ,and he had never seen this type before.aA ceramic held by 2 contacts, the creamic plate had some specks of copper i guess with no contact between those 2 contacts. he said and it looked like device for controlled brakedown off some sort i think his comment was and not the normal gas discharge tube.I am learning a lot from you guys. Thanks sir.
@@leohobbleohobb3781 This particular meter has a couple of TVSs down stream from the GDTs. I talk about that in the other two parts. You can even see the GDTs fire in the other parts.
Oh, wow. That's a comprehensive test. Many thanks for sharing.

Super, really enjoyed your testing

That's true when compared with many of the meters I have looked at.

I tried to get a service manual once from HIOKI and had no success. They may still be able to service yours.
Why not measure the resistance of the capasitor I want to know if it's sooner or later

The Keysight meter I looked at also had GDTs. It did not hold up very well.

Super Teacher nies
I still prefer the brymen. You can get a 8XX brymen for this price
keen... thanks... very pro
It's best for electrical testing
'electrical testing'
Well yeah, that's what DMMs do.
@@catharperfect7036 I think he means as opposed to electronic testing.

That's too bad. Being it's brand new, I would return it under warranty.
joe smith Thanks Joe! I guess it is what it is, I have to spend additional money on shipping..

Hi could you please check that multimeter all best.
That meter? Should I know what meter that is? I don't have ESP.
You are the best!
+Anonymous Nameless Glad you are enjoying the videos. I hope to have part 2 done in another week.
They offer some higher end meters if that's what you are looking for.
What was the reason you bought that particular meter?

Gas discharge tube? are you shure?
If you are asking if I am sure that it uses a GDT, then yes.
