I have never played wow before. I am a Runescape player, quit when eoc came out. when old school runescape was released I was one happy man. it was amazing. I am very glad you WoW players are getting classic. from one gamer to another, lets geek out and never forget that us old school runescapers have your backs if classic WoW gets threatened in some way.
Man, those were such nice days. One could argue time Classic lost some of its magic over the course of the game, but the hype was insane, I am glad I was part of that.
Classic actually still going strong, I just started completely new about a month ago (Horde - Pyrewood Village) and business is boomin’ in there! And horde is like 1/100 to the allys lol
classic release was like feeling wow being brand new again, as soon as classic TBC dropped i played it til 70 and did some raids and dungeons and was done havent played since... ide have preferred it stayed the original game..
Once I hit 60 I quit because I was running a guild and people were being too hard-core about raiding so I was like f it. Nobody wanted to wait for enough people to hit 60 so they just started pestering me about it and finally left for other guilds with the first 60s. It reverted back to how retail feels.

@BreakfastAtNoon To a degree. It was mainly botting, people knowing every nick and cranny of the game to exploit to 100% efficiency, and the fact people have already experienced this content before. So there's only so much they can play before it gets a bit samey. Still, classic was an experience unlike any other and I'll never forget how fun it was, and still can be, especially with fresh servers.
Right? And the VODs from Twitch are long gone. We might be looking at a lost media situation, now. Damn shame, I was so ready to binge him doing the Launch.

Asmons totally right that classic is the best time for a new player to get into the game... No one in Retail would help me they would just say go watch a video and most of the times they would even kick me for just talking when in a dungeon... classics the total opposite man, so much better!
But leveling in retail is better and for a new player I kinda feel classic is a little bit pointless because we all know it's likely going to end in an xpac or 2, meanwhile retail will keep going for quite a while. So idk if that's just me but on retail your progress feels more meaningful and permanent. Classic would be a fun side game but I can't imagine playing it as my main game.
Another year, time to revisit these absolute golden years of Asmon's stream, back when he was a bit more likeable and a bit less Zackrawrrr with the cheese and vinegar smelling ponytail.

Originally I refused classic because I would say "I been there, 18 years ago" now that Hard core is out , I get it. I can't stop playing HC and haven't been on retail to even check my vault. And I hope there will be a classic plus cuz ill be there on day 1
The music is epic ! No other game comes to this level… I am a glad I had the chance to play classic wow since 2006, I often login to wow just to fly through early zones and listening to the background music and feeling some nostalgia….

Remember playing in elementary school. My significantly older brother got me hooked on this game, and my grades were tanking 😂 my mom used the excuse that there was "witchcraft" in the game and permanently uninstalled and blocked my computer use. Looking back, she was probably stopping me because I was playing for a month straight. She wouldn't let me renew account fees, and I was really sad. Looking back, it was probably for the better. I still remember my old dwarf hunter, Baldwin, on the feathermoon server.. maaan. I even got to play with my brother a few times and it was sooo coool... good times.
