Usually I'm not a big fan of long discussions, but with you guy's videos it's really fun, I get to know a lot of things along the way too. It genuinely feels like a reaction cuz you guys don't try to sugarcoat it and I love that. Hope you guys continue making vids, and thank you for making them.
@@ddaeng8602 appreciate you!
Varnell should see some clips of yoongi and army on dday concert, all the stops were WILD
You gotta show him the concert! Just to add, one of the things that is really inspirational or moves me about Min Yoongi's rapping is about depression, about his struggles, because we recognize ourselves in it. It really means something. It really matters.
They’re laughing picturing a bunch of girls listening to this style of rap but my brother and I went to one of Agust D’s solo concerts in Chicago and my brother had to help a couple of old ladies find their tickets on their phones when we were behind them waiting to get in. They weren’t the only elderly people I saw there too (with no grandkids in sight). I spent the whole show picturing them rocking out headbanging to the music. 😂😂
64 yr old ARMY here! since 2017. I love them as 7 and all their solo projects. Headbangin away to the 3. And I have never fangirled ever like this. Thanks for helping out the old ladies. hahaha
@@erinmiddleton9522 lol I love that! Hope they’re still performing when I’m your age because I’ll be there. 😂 I’m 32 and have also never been into a boy band like this 😂
I'm a bit late, but since it doesn't seem people told this already... they don't let their beefs very clear, but Agust D could be related to B-Free, the guy who made some public degrading comments to Yoongi and Namjoon's face when they were still trainees. I recommend looking this video up, but when he says "you're lucky I'm an idol" seems like a reference.
we just appreciate Yoongi when he blurt out his emotions and adored him
more when he's jst cool and smiling🥰
Yes he was dishing the Rappers from the South Korean Underground Hip Hop scene he and RM were part of but a few of them called them girls for wearing make up on stage and sell out's for becoming part of Kpop Group. One of those Rapper went to prison for phsyically attack another Rapper. He tried to crawl back and apologise to Suga and RM but they told him to 'Go Back To Hawaii.'
Our Savage kitten is the best. Ty so much for posting the full thing. I love long vids. =0} Hope u have a fun and safe trip. stay safe. -2019 Army NY USA
Thanks for posting the two videos ! loved watching the 59 min too. Take good care of you
thank you for doing these. Love it through out. lots of love 💜💜💜💜💜
our tiny cat rapper!
14:24 no, we didn't do like that 😂 we BARKED, and SUGA was enjoying it.. his tour was so iconic, and had so many funny moments and emotional ones from both Yoongi and ARMY..
"how do you breathe?" makes me remember that edit ARMY did about SUGA's MV but it's just him breathing 😂
his lung capacity is insane
Oh he absolutely needs to see the D-day performances and how the crowd was, the energy, man...Army were on fire.
It's a core memory for anyone who attended!
how he's rapping this hard? well, suga created Agust D to express his anger.. he said it on an interview for the promotion of D-Day, he's latest and first album.. i think he also said, that he didn't feel angry anymore so it will probably take time for Agust D to resurface again..
why he's angry?
he was an underground rapper like RM, both of them got insulted on an interview that they got invited on, with them in that interview were their former peers from the rap scene. they told RM and Suga that they're probably a sell out for signing in a kpop label, and calling them girls cause kpop idols all wear make up
so you know, bighit at that time was a small agency, a nearly bankrupt agency at that. and in SK, money matters.. BTS got hated on for coming from a small agency, got hated from kpop stans, from the big 3 companies and some groups from the big 3, and got disrespected by the media, or variety show host. getting cut from broadcasts, etc. and antifans keep planning to sabotsge their projects.
BTS got hated from all sides, even though they didn't do anything bad.. they were just kids who got dreams, $3 and eyeliner, i mean passion
I look forward to Varnell seeing the live Cypher medley after he hears the Bts cyphers!!
He has! Check out their Three Headed Monster Pt 1 video, the last video they reacted to was the live cypher medley 😄
@@janeyusoh7513 oh ty
@@janeyusoh7513 once I thought about it, I remembered seeing it but it was line a Deja Vu.
You really have to listen to Hip Hop Phile.. They appreciate the legends 😊
suga wrote this song for the haters and all the K rappers in undergroung field who called themgirlie and not true rappers since RM and him were in k-pop group
I was looking for this on Patreon like a dumbdumb and it was here the whole time! 😂 Thanks for posting, I really like listening to the longer vids. You guys keep me company at work 💜 To Varnell, yes all the ladies are swaggy at the concerts 😎
Me too. I was waiting for this to come out. I don't know how I missed it. And I was swagging in his solo concert in Oakland 2023. It was so much feel and atmosphere. Soooo good!
Thanks for doing these. Can't wait for the next one.
i really hope you listen to rm’s first mixtape as well! both namjoon and yoongi had a lot of anger in their first project’s because the disrespect they were getting due to joining an idol group instead of staying underground rappers!
True true Rapper write their own lyrics. When J Hope wanted to become a Rapper (before BTS he was with the Street Dance crew Neuron as a dancer.) so he asked Suga (Agust D) how to start the answer he received was 'A Rapper has to write their own lyrics'. So he did and he Practiced with in the norm with RM, Suga and a bunch of other Rappers.
The last and so far away are the song who save me from my darkness and misery in my life
Hi I am back. Good reaction ty. So happy your hearing more Suga songs. He is a fab rapper. Pls listen to more like Shadow and ‘The Last’ . So the Idol thing... K-pop artists are called "idols", so he's basically saying "all you rappers should be thankful I am no longer underground because if I was you would be dead and berried. " Because u know they would have nothing with him there. 0.o This is so catchy. Plus he looks great. I loved it on the 1st listen. =0} It's ok to pause. I am interested in ur thoughts. Hope he watches the MV. So good. But honestly RM and Suga were underground rappers. They real. They just wanted to grow. With growth there is always change. If u watch BTS guides u will see some clips of why Suga said what he said in this mixtape. Hugs. stay safe. -2019 Army NY USA💜

The "be thankful I'm an idol" is a diss directed at Korean Rappers who have said that "Idols can't be rappers". It's why he calls them "fried rappers", rappers who don't have talent, can't make hits and chart-toppers, who are pushing blame onto Kpop idols. If he wasn't an idol, he'd outright slaughter them in their genre. He's had those comments directed at his face numerous times, and he couldn't clap back at those times but he is in this track.
His name "SUGA" also comes from the word "Shooting Guard" as he loves to play basketball and loves sports too.The origin of the name Agust d: suga's name as a soloist is Agust d, if you spell 'suga' backwards it becomes 'agus' and he added the 'td' because he was born in daegu/daegu town; a city in south korea.

I don't know if they told you but the sample is James Brown's "It's a Man's World". When he said all you rappers better be glad I'm an Idol, he and RM from BTS were told that they betrayed rap to become an Idol. They weren't rap anymore, they are now girls because they wear makeup. So RM with his song "Joke" and "Do You" and Suga with "Agust D" and with their Cypher 2 addressed rappers saying this. What's funny is the man considered the Father of Korean Rap, Tiger JK, loves RM and BTS. RM has done songs with Tiger's group MFBTY and on his solo song "Timeless"

I'm not sure how much you know about YoonGi/Suga/AugstD....but as you liked his MV then the following info might be of interest to you.
He is a respected producer in Korea currently and had won awards for his producing of other artists songs.
Suga/Agust D began writing music lyrics and working with MIDI at age 11 and held a part-time job composing and arranging music at a recording studio at age 16.
Active under the name "Gloss" (wordplay on his name YoonGi, which means "to shine") as an underground rapper, He originally entered Big Hit Entertainment as a producer at age 17 in 2010, but was convinced to become a part of a new group (he was told he wouldn't have to dance!! LOL) as a rapper alongside members J-Hope and RM before making his debut as a member of BTS in 2013.
In the initial years of his career in BTS, both he and his fellow group member RM faced criticism from the South Korean underground hip hop scene for "selling out" and becoming K-pop idols.
Between his commitments as a member of BTS, Suga/Agust D took advantage of time on the plane and in hotel rooms after concerts to continuously produce and compose music.
In an interview for Grazia Korea, Suga/Agust D expressed a desire to release the music he wanted to do without having to consider popular appeal or music ranking. He intended to release his music for free in the form of a mixtape to avoid such considerations, commenting that an album "has a feeling of being trapped in some sort of framework" due to the need for company involvement in promotion and advertising.
Developing Agust D musically on the base of hip hop, much of Agust D's inspiration for the lyrics came from his own stories of dream, youth, and reality. In order to differentiate his work from that of his work as Suga, he developed the alter ego "Agust D".

The fact the yoongi performed AGUSTD in every single of his concert during the tour... AND THE WAY HE KILLED IT LIVE!!! You're missing out on the live performances from his d-day tour.

Suga is actually a direct descendant of the Yeoheung Min clan (MIN yoongi) which is a royal powerful clan from the Joseon era. So he IS a royal descendant (four of his ancestral grandmothers were queens/empresses).
“How does he breathe?” -every SUGA/AGUST D fan 😂 it’s even more impressive when you see him perform live, it’s not editing tricks he’s really just going hard and fast for aaaaaages before he takes a breath, his control is insane. Highly recommend watching some of the D-Day tour after you finish his D-Day album, especially the crazy runs in Agust D and cypher medley! And as for the concert vibe and demographics, yes it’s mostly women going HARD and rocking our asses off to this shit, jumping and headbanging and throwing ARMY bombs in the air like machetes! Women can fuck shit up too!!! But there are also plenty of men at the shows, people of all genders and backgrounds love this music, and all ages! Check out the dopeoldpeople army crew, I’ve met grandparents using their retirements to follow BTS around the world and parents with their kids and everyone in between. There’s been tons of studies on ARMY demographics and y’all should definitely take a look if you’re interested! (Sleep probably knows cuz he’s deep in ARMY, but it can still be eye-opening to see the range of fans 💜)
e o Brasil esta aqui marcando presença com o suga 🟡🟢🟡🟢
I wish you would do a reaction to Suga concert especially one in the USA, and see how army respond. Lots of good fan cams of RUclips
7:47 funny you say that RM is no joke. He has a song that is called "joke" that came out pre BTS debut. It goes harrrrdddd please check it out.
Savage Suga!!! love it!!!!!
Really really enjoyed this video. Thanks Sleep and Varnell!!! 💜
They definitely did their research; they lived it in "American Hustle Life" one of their reality shows.
Hahahaha! Not the burnt toast!! 🤣🤣🤣
I’m glad I waited till now to watch this… My Friend, The D-Day concert was fire and WE WERE FIRE! It was the most cathartic experience of my life. We loved him and he loved us.
rappers write their own rap! LOUDER!!!
Never say never. "Every" genre of music appeals to me except . . . .hiphop and jazz. Suga and RM and JHope came along and changed me . . . . . . all of this at age 61!!! You guys rock.
AGUSTD Is very layered and his musicality, production and writing ability is TOP NOTCH! He has Beats and Tracks for EVERYONE! He is a Top 5 ARTIST 4 ME❤ Great vid Guys, the whole Album is fire🔥🔥🔥 u guys would Definitely enjoy "What Do U think" & Let it Burn feat. Max" Also highly recommend- Juice World/Suga Colab "Girl of My Dreams" R.I.P. JUICE WORLD❤
40:30 I'll say it... Post Malone.
If I expand it out to R&B, Soul & other, "Urban," music genres - ooh, child! - the list gets long.
Varnell I’m glad you excepted your fate as Army 💜 I went to his concert at the forum it was awesome!! Army was bobbing and weaving when this song came on! 😂
If you all watched some of BTS documentaries the underground rappers was upset because they joined the group and told them on film that when they go on stage with makeup the being girls. So he produced Agust D and went smooth the F off 😂
You guys give it to me goes even harder when he did live. If you get a chance check out his live performance of this song from his D-DAY Tour💜
Sleep, I really hope you make that podcast episode where you go into influence, homage, and appropriation, and all the issues that come up when art forms that originate from one culture cross over into other cultures. I think it’s such an important topic that I’m very interested to hear your thoughts on and experiences in the industry. So much can feel superficial, but if for example a non-black artist does the work and comes from a place of deep appreciation and respect for the art and culture, would/should they still get shit if they wear black hairstyles when they perform? Is it different when it’s an artistic style vs a physical thing like fashion (which is also part of artistic style, fashion is art too)? How does this play into other areas of culture like food and fusion cuisines? I don’t know the answer here and I’m really curious to hear your perspective. Thank you for all these videos and your podcast!
pls someone tell them abt the tony montana with the jimin feature
He did the Last at his concert too and yes the drummer went off.
