    Well done Susan! So glad for her and her lamb and her well deserved retirement (I see her secretly taking the bus to Lowestoft for some later years excitement:))... Same mad weather in East Kent. I found my chard and spinach in the green house since the Autumn are still doing well tho'.

    Hey Geoff. It's great that Susan has finally lambed and now she'll retire and have a quiet life.
    That looks like a good tup lamb. Glad you can now shut the geese ( and eggs) in at night, the Muscovies also. I hope the colder weather hasn't set back your outdoor plants too much. The poly tunnel seems to be coming on. Great vid Geoff. Thanks. We have has rain, sleet and a little snow here.
    Our lambing is underway and going well. Best. Jacob and Johnny. 🐶

    You are going great guns fella!
    The rain here is... persistent! Incessant rain, on and off, of late, but always there. We are digging new channels for next winter already.
    Have you made your plans yet for your raised entrance to your home yet? It will be too easy to forget the mud that you brought into your home.
    A simple raised platform, of wood, staple some chicken wire for grip, and a simple awning to keep it mostly dry.
    I said I'd remind you. ❤
    Cheers 🇬🇧

      Thanks mate! I haven't forgotten but how quickly mud turns to cement; outside the door is now rock solid. DEFFO planning on it as a summer job - I'm going to make it large enough to put the dog crates there too so they can self-clean outside before coming in!

      @BrimwoodFarm Cool plans.
      This is a reminder because you are Mr. busy...
      Try and not cut long lengths. Only cut halfway. And use good screws. This will enable you to re-use the lumber.
      Get some cheap and reusable concrete slabs. This will lead up to the steps up to your porch.
      Your view is a bit rubbish from your door, so consider a side walkway way in to that door and put the actual raised part at the front room window. and have a wodden lattice to semi block the barn just as you exit your home... You will thank yourself later.
      😎

      @BrimwoodFarm  4 месяца назад +1

      Definitely! The sunsets from the front window, so any platform area I want there! Also, side way in would actually stop wind rushing straight through a little, plus stop a great long leap opportunity for doggos. Good call!

    I’ve noticed a lot of people raising dairy bull calves as a side hustle, is that something you would ever consider doing?

    • @BrimwoodFarm
      @BrimwoodFarm  4 месяца назад

      Probably not. It can be a good side hustle as you say, but you need the infrastructure and I'm not quite there yet. Never say never though.
