Thanks a ton for bringing up this video and I’m not feeling enough even after watching multiple times, does anyone have idea about how these great guys do plan and do they work on small setup before going on real big walls and buildings?
Zepha is the best for me. He has done "parquet" in wood, in Toulouse et the espace Croix-Baragnon, the ground vibrated of energy. Thanks for this review other are good to. There is one lightpainting in this serie. Do you will make a video if lightpainting calligraphie, of Kaalam, Cisco for exemple ?
Agree with the list;). maybe would switched Retna on first place and used more names there .. if it was ma list of course..: so great vid guys. sendin love. it has reminded me some shots and gave me motivation. .. Just want to say offtopic and give a reaction on: ''It looks all the same'' comments of types.. that it seems like people are judging styles similarity based on the shapes used on the visuals and not seeing actual different letters.. that is a pitty.. because.. if someone do a Circle .. like master Pokras does from the beginning.. it doesnt mean that If I use circle or another shapes, Im copying, Im just using some geometrical shapes. it happend to me a lot of times. but Its how it is I guess. but nothing more powerfull, than to build and find your own signature style. thats what we strive for. Very good staff, I have a book The art of writing your name which has many of these artists... but i am surprised you have not managed to source not one woman artist, also the art of calligraphy of the East is kind of under-represented, but thanks for sharing anyway!
Retna is definitely number one. His work has more street cred, more market value and overall is less derivative than many of the other artists named here.
Interesting you didn’t mention Chaz Borgoquez the mentor to Retina n father of this L.A. Graff science since the 60’s . I know them both well been watching their art careers grow since the 90’s!! Another person to look out for is “Aise born” our member n brother of R.T.N crew from L.A. excelling in the art world doing his style . These are all Americans.
Realy weird that Niels Meulman ( shoe ) is not in this list!!!! He is the creator and founder of the Calligraffiti style!!! He should be on #1!! Also he wrote and published the book Calligraffiti!!! And if you dont know about him you shouldnt make this videos!!!!!
No he is not the creator of the style, only of a community and he is not in, because this is my list, yours might look differently. I know him of course
@@CalligraphyMasters Although a very controversial name for an artform that is more of an umbrella term for many different styles and the way they're performed, he did coin the term of the concept of "calligraphy meeting graffiti". Also worth mentioning he is a published writer on the subject itself. But hey, opinions are like assess, everyone has one and in the end, they all produce crap.
I hope to incluid a occidental calligrapher, you only put a Arabic letter bro, where is the master pen man? Only exist 12 in the world, but you didn’t considered
As a calligrapher I humbly request you remove retna from the list. Uninspired and completely lacking in imagination and calligraphic skill. Sorry, straight lines really are not that amazing.
It's fascinating how something as simple as writing letters can becomes so unique and beautiful
These artists are just on a completely different level in more ways than one.
It was a truly amazing collection. TY!
You are an artist who is completely crazy about your talent, but a distinguished and professional artist
