    _Sore!_ 🦊🤘🔥
Thanks for noticing about little corrections we made for you and keep learning more things from this amazing group, although you still put a space between the name when there's none, it's BabyMetal or BABYMETAL, not Baby Metal.
Nice to see you're back with this suggestion, they were quite young in this one but wait to see Doki Doki Morning or Iine!!, you can enjoy this song with the live sound of the Kami Band at Budokan 2014 or Budokan 2021 and after with the new formation.
This is another BM fans favorite song and is already a classic one they don't wanna leave behind in any of their setlist when performing live such recently at Germany festivals as well at FOX_ FEST Festival last weekend of May when they even opened up the festival with a exclusive remix version and dance called "Akago Kinzoku" dancing with a hand-fan.
This was released in 2013 when having around 13/14 (Yui and MoaMetal, MomoMetal not here yet) and 15 yo (SuMetal, the lead singer), so is one of their early hits and is full of japanese elements, like the "shamizen", a japanese traditional instrument, and is a party festival song (matsuri).
"Sore" "seiya" and "soya" are typical shouts among Japanese festival and it works like a "c'mon!" or "let's go" for them.
During the breakdown you can hear another typical japanese folk song called "Sakura Sakura" and they're doing a traditional Japanese dance.
The pig squeals are just a backing track and is credited to no one as well many more growlings and harsh vocals you can hear during early era.
In summary, song is about female empowerment and if you follow the lyrics you'll see about it, "Megitsune" means female fox (vixen) and they talk about women acting with a smile in their face while crying inside, just to fit in society or what is expected from them, when they're kind to you they're not trying to make falling in love with them, they're just being their own way, and men tend to confuse and think they're cheating or deceiving like the mythological fox.
"Megitsune" used to be a peyorative term in Japanese culture, pretty much just like around the world, but BM is using this as a way to empower women despite the meaning itself.
When SuMetal is pulling out the "tanto" mic she's saying "maidens shouldn't be underestimated", that refers to a japanese mob film about some boss mafia daughter before attacking someone. During live performance she does something different and looks really cool doing it.
The band you saw here are hire actors performing only in this song, they got their own band when playing live called Kami Band, more of them later.
Megitsune is a quintessential BM song and among top ranking songs by fans, SuMetal said she didn't mastered yet, that's why she used to sound check with this song before live concerts.
The origin of the "fox sign" is kinda long to explain but here's a short summary:
The Fox God (Kitsune Sama) is the Metal God who sent these girls (and Kami Band after to help them with the metal sound) to unify the world and set them free from Jpop slavery. The kitsune sign came out by accident around the time they created the group by the girls when trying to imitate the typical metal horn sign they noticed it was similar when doing fox shadow shape, they implemented this as part of the lore, imagery, theme and live concerts, the lore is huge so take your time and keep digging and riding the Foxhole 🦊🤘
Btw they praised for real and made a ritual to the Fox God for this song to be a hit and successful, and thanks to the Fox God this is one of their major hits and favorite BM fan songs. -NotACult- 👀
This is a song with the arrangements by YuppeMetal, he took inspiration from "Memphis May Fire - The Sinner" for the drum section, another song that i recommend you for your own time if you want.
    Next suggestion:
    - Headbanger!! live at Legend 1997 (2013)
    See you next time. 🦊🤘🔥

Nice reaction. the part where she is brushing her hair is taken from a Japanese horror film. Babymetal you just never know what they're going to do. You should react to them reacting to their own videos. Rather fun.

    Great reaction!
    Favourite Member: Moa-Metal 💘
    Favourite MV: Megitsune and Karate.
Favourite song: No way, I can't just pick one. I can't even make a solid Top 10. It depends on the moment or day I listen to them.
You seem to be enjoying this.
This is just the beggining of the trip. Take your time to listen and enjoy every single song. Some of their songs grow inside you very quickly but others take longer, and until you listen to it several times, you don't fully appreciate it.
I mean, just like any other band, right?
Welcome to the cult (Yes, this is a cult, I'm tired pretending it's not 😅) and see you in your next video!
    Babymetal Forever!! 🦊🦊🍅🦊

Great reaction.🦊Jake Muller already did a great job explaining about the song, the dancers at the back and the shadow play fox sign (kitsune) they do with their hands.
You haven't heard Su-metal's live vocals yet - she sounds many time better live than in the studio recordings. Follow the recommendations you already have for more songs - and some live performances.

What many of us are thinking and no one dares to say is: this doesn't feel like an anime. I personally dislike this type of comments for being a highly recurrent stereotype and a clear sign of total lack of knowledge about the Japanese culture. Nothing personal against anime or your reaction, though.
With that said, Japanese people adore anime and manga which are a very important part of their modern culture. Suzuka Nakamoto, the lead singer, was in a girl group singing for an anime... when she was 10 years old.
The main location of this music video is called Nohgakudo (Noh theater) at Asagaya Shinmeigu Shrine in Tokyo. This is a stage within an actual shrine. The corridors and other rooms shown here are traditional Japanese buildings. They exist, it's not from an anime. 😁
By the way, BABYMETAL is one word.

Welcome back to Babymetal! I think you already got a ton of info from everyone.
I will say this: you still haven’t seen a proper live video from Babymetal. Gimme Choco was live video with studio audio on top (anything labeled with “Official”). Only “Official Live” has live audio, and nothing from their official channel has subtitles.
Also, FYI, and in case you get any flak for anime references: while it’s not a slight by any means, Babymetal has never officially done music for anime. And literally 95% of reactor say “oh! Sounds like an anime intro!”, so fans are just tired of hearing that lol. If I had a penny for every-time I heard that, I would have enough money to buy every one of their concert BluRays haha (there’s a lot over 14 years).
    Your next reactions should be:
*Headbanger (Legend 1997):* Same show as Gimme Choco, but live.
*Road of Resistance:* _Official Live_ for Jan 2015 version, or _Pia Arena MM_ for recent Apr 2023 to see them all grown up.

    ⚡ 💀 💕 / 🦊 ⛩
The performers pretending to play the traditional Japanese instruments in this video are dancers with the Movement Design group.
They're all guys, and aren't intended to be mistaken for women.
I guess the long black hair and white robes were confusing.
Chidori Yakumo is their director. She is the woman performing the fan dance during the breakdown.
Lead singer Su-metal (Suzuka Nakamoto, or just "Su") was 15 when this music video was released.
Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) and Moametal (Moa Kikuchi) were 13, almost 14.
So they were still pretty young.

I must apologize but I take issue with you comparing BABYMETAL to anime music: BABYMETAL is not anime - never has been and, with any luck, never will be. BABYMETAL is WAY better than any anime music - THIS IS KAWAII METAL!!! Evidently, many people jump to anime simply because they are singing in Japanese, and anime is the only place they’ve ever heard Japanese singing. Would they still sound like anime if they were singing in French or German or Swedish or English? An observation made by someone on Reddit: "A lot of Japanese people who listen to BABYMETAL never talk about anime (because there is nothing anime in BABYMETAL) and often wonder what's with those stupid anime comments from the West." Now go wash your mouth out with soap! 😁
The hand-sign is a "kitsune", kitsune meaning "fox" in Japanese. It's a part of BABYMETAL lore - I have no doubt that other members of The One will explain it to you.
Be advised that none of BABYMETAL's official music videos have English captions. I would recommend that you look up the lyrics before doing the reaction if that is something important to you.
I think your reaction was good - you didn't pause every three seconds like I've seen some other reacters do. You just took it in - mesmerized!!! 😂
A technical suggestion, if I may: when you pause, go back about five or ten seconds before resuming, that way you regain the flow of the song. You may or may not know that if you tap your keyboard space bar once it will pause the video, another tap will resume play. Also, if you tap the left arrow key once, it will rewind the video five seconds (a second tap for another five seconds), and tapping the right arrow key will advance the video five seconds. Just sayin'.
    Keep rockin’ BABYMETAL!!!
    KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘

In East Asia culture, anyone who dressed pale face and skin, white robe, and long hair means they are characterized as spirits or ghosts. In Babymetal lore, they are ancestors that were good at playing guitars, bass, and drums whom were recruited by Fox God to help Babymetal become Heavy Metal Goddesses.
