If you knew the geography of the area, as I do, I drive these myself, there is no worry. From this signal WH59 the next signsl, WH61, is clearly visible ahead. As usual we follow slower FCC services that are 'put inside' onto the down slow line at this junction. When in clear the signal for this train, WH61, on the down fast springs off to a green aspect. This would have happened very soon after departing WH59 and as I said, would have been clearly visible. Good driving to keep time as I see it!

Meridians look absolutly lovely to drive. I'd love to be lucky enough to drive either a meridian or hst.

0 - 110mph in about 2 mins 50 seconds if I work it out right from the video. That's very fast acceleration for a train!

Spectacular video :-D :-D :-D :-D. I like it a lot :-). My goodness :-). I say, driving from 0-110 mph, that is top speed 110mph I must say :-). These class 222 Meridian's really are high speed DMU's I must say :-). The cab of a class 222 looks very nice :-). Have a nice evening my friend :-).

I am surprised that British trains still use the old European system of weights and measures.

If you look closely I think it clears to a green at about 0:17. But yeah, it seems a bit fast to be going with the sunflower in effect.

I can't believe he opened that up full throttle on a yellow signal! It must have been doing more than 60 mph by the next signal.

Jason Cutler the next signal was green anyway

Slower FCC train going to slow line probably. Driver would have seen the junction signal show a green in the Distance.

@@TheMrBitsy: Matter of fact, you can see the first signal change from single yellow to green at 0:15 (about), and hear the discussion of how quickly the junction was cleared and the signal changed aspect immediately after
