Absolutely stunning ! The process, the hands/eye coordination of your work, the change of tools, the different camera angles and distances and last but not least that masterpiece at the end with the intense look of that sailor. Thanks a lot for this video Alec ! I really enjoyed watching it. And thanks for all the other videos you put out there for us to enjoy.
Such an amazing flair for realism. So very impressed by your work. Was happy to see that you were selling your book so I just ordered it as soon as I saw it. Very thankful for you and your channel. Always very inspiring.
Brilliant 👍 That deserves a dram of Shackleton whiskey 🥃 Shackleton took whiskey on the expedition, in 2007 three cases were found frozen at his base camp at Cape Royds . A small sample was taken and Master blender Richard Paterson re-created a modern blend of the whiskey…….well worth tracking a bottle down 👍 Always remember , stay safe ……..don’t drink and carve 🤪🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃🥃
Alec, I really like your carvings of sailors, have you ever thought about stippling a beard I wonder how it would look. I did it on a big sunflower carving, it's a really neat tecknek
Buying the book…..lol….just cut the nose off accidentally on my own project….trying to decide wether to take whole face deeper or what. It just popped off…..! Working on basswood. I am an older nun….only 5 -6 hours from you too! Maybe a class someday. Just came thru cancer and cancer free now, but need a new hip to walk properly. I love carving! Self taught but started on cotton wood bark! Love the channel! Keep up the amazing work! Don’t be scared….I am an Orthodox nun…..we have a long history of carvings….look at Romanian carving!
I'm your fan from Brazil, I follow your videos and I would really like to buy your course, but currency conversion is unfeasible at the moment. I think it's funny, just like you, I'm a fan of sea stories, I love music(play Guitar by more Than 20 years, and I love wood carvings
I didn't feel any ASMR whatsoever...just scratching my head as to what did they think they would gain out of exploring a frozen wasteland??? The same wonder I have for people who climb Mount Everest when people continue to die yearly it seems trying to climb it. But Alec you did a great job carving his likeness! Two thumbs way up! :)

Amazing
How long have you been doing this hobby for? What made you want to start attempting to do it?

How fun! Thanks for sharing! And for the support!
Glue the nose back on with a good wood glue. I have done that myself...it isn't so much cutting it of as the wood just chips or breaks away.
Where can I get cottonwood or something similar in the UK? I desperately want to try this!

I am from India. I asked you earlier that what wood is this? You haven't answered. Again I ask you what wood is this?
It's cottonwood bark.
