I was gonna get back into the game after a long time off and needed some info so found this video, many god tips! I started playing the game back in 2012, but its been a good 2-3 years since I last played.
Watching this video right now as in 2022. I had few urges to play this game throughout the years but ultimately choose not to. Last time I played SO much of SWTOR was back when I was in middle school. Now I'm in my last year of College, so at this point I'll probably check out or maybe even consider coming back to play SWTOR once I have the time. Now with that being said, thanks a lot Food Then Games for this video, I learn some new things, and the rest are just refresh reminders that I actually forgot or now luckily remember. Keep it up even though you posted this 2 years ago, I really appreciate it. Thanks a lot, and farewell FTG!
Just played again after more like 2 years... so unusual after Final Fantasy XIV Online. I missed my Sith! And dang there's a lot to catch up I mean I barely know what's going on 😂
I came here because all my other games are boring atm. thanks for the great vid. If I had watched this earlier I might've played this game for longer already Btw. the adaptive gear vendor is my favourite tip thanks a lot for taht
Wow! This was the very best tips video out of like 10 I watched. Great job!!! I also enjoy your gameplay videos, you have :-) You are a good storyteller! :-)
glad you enjoyed the video -- I haven't quit SWTOR at all -- I stream it at least weekly and have a SWTOR let's play running on the channel that's update pretty frequently!
Thank you for the info I just started playing again. Wasn't to keen on wow and played that for years. Turning off general chat in game is a must I strongly endorse that message! lol What's kind of sad is when you keep reporting spammers / gold sellers EA does nothing about it. No matter I'll keep playing as long as the content doesn't start to get stale
I played this game when it came out but was still a little brat in school who was not working, so I didn't want to pester my parents for subscription money and when it became F2P I really didn't think it was worth it since so many things were locked as I remember. But I recently saw it on steam subscribed and actually forgot about it for 3 days, yesterday I said lets try it since I was pretty much alone the whole day with nowhere to go and noone to bother me(dream day)......spent 9-10 hours and didn't even notice it. Btw I facepalmed when you showed the quicktravel option.....I wanted to slap myself some more. Thanks for all of these tips.
lol yes turning off gen chat made me not go insane while on fleet last yr at 3am my time the chat devolved into complete chaos and the turn it off option was the only thing that allowed me to stay sane
This is very helpful, I'm a returning player and started playing with Jedi Knight Sentinel. btw do you have a tip in terms of managing UI, my UI feels so disoriented.
I'd suggest getting rid of anything you don't need to start and then arranging things in a way that's easiest for you to view -- so either left, right, top or bottom of the screen and use that as a launching off point!
I just started playing, your video helped me about many things. That subscription wall hits bad sometimes. It'll take some time to u understand and learn. I think i have to spend good time with key bindings because it's so confusing...
good tips here though i know gen chat is not always fun but i just ignore most apart from when people ask for help. also just saying but i just recently bought a armor set i put the full armor set in the cosmetic slot and in unlocked for me in collections.
@@FoodThenGames Thanks a lot, i am a returning player and today i had tons of fun with my new character (consular) i got her to level 18. I would recommend to everyone to try swtor out, it has amazing story for all classes and you can play it for free, or you can do what i did and sub for a month and get everything the game has to offer, that content is at least few hundreds of hours if you play every class story and it only cost 13 euros or 15$.
Just a heads up. You should go ahead and get rid of the referral link. The devs got rid of that features due to people abusing the system. Kinda sucks for people like me return to the game as a non sub waiting for the funds to sub but don't want to be hampered by the limitations of preferred or f2p.

Edit: switched the advanced class alignments for Consular and Inquisitor.
So I played StarTrek online until school got in the way. Now I wanna play this bc friends play this and omg its so different. I wanted to just surprise them in game one day but i am somehow so lost. lol
Yo, im stuck in dromund kaas after starting a herioc mission thingz problem is i did that just before i got my own ship in korriban. Now i cant get back to korri and get my ship. Any tips?
You get your ship on dromund kass not korriban! Keep going through the class story and it’ll unlock! And if you want to get back to korriban before hand you can take a shuttle from the fleet to korriban!
@@FoodThenGames ah yeah mah bad, dude wants me to board a ship from korriban to dromund but i already fast travelled to dromund kaas and i cant get back to korriban, played myself
Never played this game because I don’t like MMO’s. But if it’s possible to play SWTOR like a single player game, KOTOR style, even if you can’t actually complete the main quest that way, then I might look into it.
You can totally play 90% of SWTOR Solo -- and all of the story content you can play 100% solo {I have an entire video talking about solo SWTOR!}! -- you're of course going to see people out in the world / open zones but you don't have to interact with them if you don't want to! I personally unless I'm playing with people from my community play the game totally by myself!
4 months late, but this was like the 2nd MMO I ever played because I didn't care for em but am a sucker for SW. I literally never did any grouping or anything. Story content is almost entirely do-able solo and have companions as in KOTOR. Biggest group I've ever had was me and a mate from high school
Rule #1: Dont come for me. I swear by all the salt in me: if you run counter to my desire, the remainder of your brief mortal span will be an orchestra of misery
If you look to subscribe please do it through the swtor.com rather than steam because there's a chance you don't get your moneys worth and it would be nonrefundable.
Does anyone know whether character level dependent mission rewards change after first marking a mission as tracked? I want to know whether I'll be stuck with a low level reward if I accept a mission at a low level, increase my character's level by several, and then complete that mission.
If you're free to play once you hit level 20 I believe you'll "train" for it with your trainer that you get new abilities from! And you can either get one from the GTN, Cartel Market or from one of the vendors in the major areas!
Once you launch it from steam you’ll get the launcher and you’d just log in like normal I believe! So you don’t need to start over or anything! And you also don’t need to link your origin account!
@@FoodThenGames Appreciate the quick response. Got my hands full with Shadowlands, CP2077, and League. But I want to come back to the game at some point.
I've a question. how can I get back to My Ship ? I've gone to the spaceport but it doesn't let me enter, it just leaves me in another place. I don't have enough credits to buy the direct way.
Literally only ever used legacy to make a family tree and rivalries/alliances. All my characters are related in some way. Literally legacy lvl 33 and all I've used it for is this
You can! You’ll want to pick sentinel in character creation and then once you start playing if you hit “k” on your keyboard you’ll have options for an additional proficiency and there are I believe two of the three that are dps!
Nah, no thanks to any Deity & bad move by Eaware's Dev crew. Eaware should've chosen Frostbite, Luminous Engine or CryEngine3 for their 1st Mmo known as 'SW: The Cartel Market.' Instead it came out with Cartoon Networks Low Polygon Gfx via Outdated Glitchy Alpha Hero Engine :( I left 5x years after continuous Sub from launch. Also few times supported Eaware through the 'whale gamers shop' a.k.a cartel market in game store. Went back late last year 6021 (it was 2020 for many who believe in current calendar count), subbed for 1x month & played through to maxies with relaxed pace & unsubbed before next month. Wish you nice time in any game you adventure in o/ ShamefulBigIPTreatmentForPastFewYears #ImagineSwtorWithCryeEngine3 #ImagineSwtorWithLuminousEngine #ImagineNewSWMmoWithUnrealEngine #AshesOfCreation #Archeage

Races:
★ *Bounty Hunter:* Rattataki (he/she has a unique dialogue in a Belsavis side quest).
* *Trooper:* Mirialan (no bonus dialogues, but creates a foil with two antagonistic Mirialans).
★ *Sith Inquisitor:* Twi'lek female and Human male (the latter, because he is male, is more driven to be separate, so it would be best for him to avoid the hermit's advise to use his rage from others' speciesism and even get the "pro-alien" dialogue from one of his companions' dialogues; the former, because she'll feel a greater need to work WITH others, can be alien not only to willfully ignore the aforementioned advise, but also get the funny bonus dialogue on Hoth from the same companion).
* *Jedi Knight:* Human Female, Miraluka Male (the former has special dialogue when Doc mentions the possibility of children while the latter is most lightsaber-focused of the Jedi classes, plus he gets a bonus dialogue with the final boss on Alderaan).
★ *Sith Warrior:* Pureblood female and Zabrak male (as mentioned above, women want to commune while men want to separate; the latter will feel a greater need to rebel as an alien while the former will still rebel by being a friend to the lower class).
* *Jedi Consular:* Zabrak (best justifies his or her apparently quick recovery after healing and gives a roleplay reason for acting like a warrior around the first companion).
★ *Imperial Agent:* Chiss (the entire class revolves around being a Chiss).
* *Smuggler:* Cyborg female and Twi'lek male (the former has an extra flirtatious bonus dialogue at the end of her romance quest while the latter just fits the Smuggler, plus, if a shade of blue (one of which is Pub-exclusive), he manages to make one of the dialogues in the _Heist of the Millennium_ quest funnier).
Edit: switched the advanced class alignments for Consular and Inquisitor.
So I played StarTrek online until school got in the way. Now I wanna play this bc friends play this and omg its so different. I wanted to just surprise them in game one day but i am somehow so lost. lol
I still have over 600 million creds just sitting there in my Jedi Sentinel account 😂
Now we know ........
At least 2 Female youtuber are playing SWTOR.
Swtorista and Food Then Games?
And me!
@@rebecca.chambers You are not youtuber
@@MsKeylas Oh I misread that then
@@rebecca.chambers no problem))) It is still great to hear that you play this great game
thank you! for the update havent play in forever
welcome back!!
What armor is your character wearing at beginning of this video?
It's Tau's Armor!
Great video
My god, how do you have those textures like that!!!! What do I have to do to get those textures😮
I believe I play at ultra, 1440 in full screen windowed mode if that helps!
If you look to subscribe please do it through the swtor.com rather than steam because there's a chance you don't get your moneys worth and it would be nonrefundable.
love this game
Does anyone know whether character level dependent mission rewards change after first marking a mission as tracked? I want to know whether I'll be stuck with a low level reward if I accept a mission at a low level, increase my character's level by several, and then complete that mission.
As far as I know the rewards are always the same
I never ever even played this game, ive played kotor. The 2nd one, I think ima download it and play it. Dont know why I aint play it.
I recently started playing. Make your speeder faster? I don’t know how to get one! I need beginners tips for dummies 😆
If you're free to play once you hit level 20 I believe you'll "train" for it with your trainer that you get new abilities from! And you can either get one from the GTN, Cartel Market or from one of the vendors in the major areas!
Do you link your steam and Origin account? Or is it an entirely new account through steam and you're starting from scratch?
Once you launch it from steam you’ll get the launcher and you’d just log in like normal I believe! So you don’t need to start over or anything! And you also don’t need to link your origin account!
@@FoodThenGames Appreciate the quick response. Got my hands full with Shadowlands, CP2077, and League. But I want to come back to the game at some point.
this vid earned a sub, thnx!
I've a question. how can I get back to My Ship ?
I've gone to the spaceport but it doesn't let me enter, it just leaves me in another place.
I don't have enough credits to buy the direct way.
There should be a specific area to load into at each spaceport for each class -- if you enter in there your ship should be there once you load in!
@@FoodThenGames
Thank you so much!
0:10 armor name? pls
That's Tau's armour that you can get in the cartel market or GTN if it's still available!
Literally only ever used legacy to make a family tree and rivalries/alliances. All my characters are related in some way. Literally legacy lvl 33 and all I've used it for is this
I'm so lost. I was trying to find a beginners guide lol. I'll come back once I know more.
Yeah she explains how to use/do some things without explaining what exactly they are or mean. I'll have to do the same lol
Great video for newcomers! The community thanks you!! /clap
Thanks for thank you Or the Video
Can I use refferal link to to unlock the story content and reach lvl 75 or do I have to sub?
You have to sub for that!
What outfit did you have on Theron?
It’s a mix of his original and secondary outfit with a blue/black dye module
@@FoodThenGames thanks, I'll give that a go.
I want to play a jedi knight that dps, with 2 lightsabers, is there an option?
You can! You’ll want to pick sentinel in character creation and then once you start playing if you hit “k” on your keyboard you’ll have options for an additional proficiency and there are I believe two of the three that are dps!
Thanks !
Quick travel and instant travel to your ship!?!? Thank god!
This is nice even in 2022. XD
