...I've stated to ANYONE who would listen, that RAY should've done that WHOLE "Ross '83" Album! ..he was on "The Other Woman" (1982), and was about to release "Woman Out Of Control" (late 1983)...It would've put BOTH of them, ON!

This is really cool. There's not a lot of information about the specifics of this album, which is a fan favorite despite not doing well. Actually, there's relatively little information about the details of the RCA albums in general. We know a lot about Diana's work history with Motown-era producers like HDH, Ashford and Simpson, Michael Masser, Nile Rodgers, et al. It'd be thrilling to get interviews with Barry Gibb, Daryl Hall, Gary Katz and Julio Iglesias. For that matter, it would be a great historical record to get a comprehensive interview with Diana specifically about producing WDFFIL.

Many of her albums didn't do well. She could always pack the concert hall though. In the end, that's how many of them end up making most of their money, if they produce the concert shows

@@erossinema8797 Of course, record sales and fan base aren't always equal. But back then they did hope to sell a lot of records and it was a bummer if they didn't. They toured to promote records. Today, the concerts are so much more expensive and, usually, elaborate. They release music to promote the tours. I don't think they expect to sell as much music as they once did.

"Love Or Loneliness" - performance was like "I'm Still Waiting," my favorite was "Upfront" because it was a dance track, and the bass/guitar. I also like the expanded version.

My favorite was “pieces of ice” & “let’s go up”! I was at that concert that she gave in 1983 live in Central Park, NYC it was crazy bc it was also free, bc of the rain ☔️ they had 2 cancel the 1st night & continued the next day, then that concert drew the criminals to come out to loot & rob people’s personal property etc. Then a day or 2 She made the front pages of the NYC news press. I remember one newspaper had it on their front page “Diana Ross, the night New York City was mugged”. It was crazy & a exciting time to be in NYC back then.

I like it when she sings her own background parts. On “now that you’re gone” from the 1980 “diana” album she does. And on the latest “thank you” album there are songs where she does. I’m a big Diana fan and Janet Jackson fan. Janet takes the time to sing her own backgrounds and it sounds so good. Of course when Diana started out she had The Supremes to sing the background lol

I didn't remember that song, I wonder if there was any trouble with how that song sounds so much like "Ain't Nothing but a Maybe" by Asford and Simpson also on Diana's "Love Hangover" LP

@@ernestchacon4928 if you don't really know Diana then I assume that you don't know Mary & Florence either, still, you say they were right all the time. I would say Diana was right while Mary and Flo lied all the time and I don't know any of them either so WTF??? And I wouldn't consider the people at Motown who wrote these books her friends. They are more likely people who envy her and are just jealous of her success trying to make a buck on her behalf.
