We went to Aegina. It's only 40 minutes by catamaran from Athens, and the island is lovely if you're not that into beaches. Lots of amazing fresh food, loads of pistachio products. Cool temple on top of a hill, and a monastery too. Very calm and easy.

It's my favourite restaurant in Naxos . If you want to eat meat or a burger , it's a good idea to go to "Meet the Meat" , which is next to the pizzeria Sue Giu . Both restaurants are in the Naxos Town. If you want to try traditional Greek food , you can go to Agios Prokopios , where you can find "Spyros". It's a tavern with really good traditional food. Opposite "Spyros" there is a fabulous restaurant with traditional Greek and Naxian food called "Gyanoulis / Γιαννούλης". This restaurant is crowded in the evening , a lot of tourists have already found it . Also , if you need a pharmacy because something bit you , you want sunscreen or anything else, you can visit my Dad's Pharmacy , which is next to the two taverns 💪💪💪🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷 !
When I went to Greece we went to two islands one was Kefalonia (al little hard to get to) but with barely any tourists. The beaches there are awesome but the island is closer to Italy so it will also have some Italian qualities. The wind island was Corfu, it was more busy but still had amazing food and super cool beaches
Naxos beaches are actually golden 👍🏻 Another benefit is that you can get European food too if Mediterranean doesn’t agree with your stomach 😉 If you want to enjoy a lovely quiet beach holiday instead of the party vibe then I would recommend Naxos.
Absolutely agree … Santorini is amazing. Mykonos is over priced, over hyped - give it a miss. Naxos and Paros have awesome beaches, and a less touristy vibe.
I went to Crete. Apart from the fact that I went in winter and it was so stormy and windy I couldn't move much, ot was nice. Lots of historical stuff to learn about
Skiathos is dope too. It's small, but perfectly formed, and when I was there 20 years ago there was a lighthouse restaurant in the town with a patio overlooking the Aegian sea. Perfect date restaurant. Great holiday.
If you go to Greece and want to go to a nother island go to Zante Greece it's the most beautiful place ever with the most clear water and the best food

I went to Mykonos in 2015, which was before it became insta famous. It was so beautiful, quiet out of the main town and there were even a few private beaches which I had to myself which was great as a female solo traveller. I wouldn’t rush back seeing how it is now. I’ve been to a lot of the islands and I’d recommend Kos for a more authentic experience. Next new islands I’m checking out are Kefalonia and Zakynthos
I live in Europe and I've been to Mykonos twice 2021 and 2022 -- one with family and the other with my good friend. Both times I found it's possible to have quiet, relaxing beach time as well as party party. If you go to the nicer beach clubs, it's a chill vibe party-wise as well. I was pleasantly surprised given the "cheap" party label the island has been given. It offers a lot more, and both times I stayed with the same local family-owned hotel who advised us on where to go, which had a great influence on the quality of our trip ❤
Went to Mykonos and Absoultely hated it. Kefalonia is just gorgeous. Lots to see. Lush green. Beautiful beaches and water. Doing the 20hr trip back from Aus next year. Can't wait.
@@carolinelane9599 iam from denmark but i living on greece the last 4 years and its perfect place to live.i visited until now the 5% of greek islands and i been at so many lol my favourite by far are the islands of ionian sea.green,blue crystal waters.seriously when i took the desision to leave denmark i was kind weird.but when i traveled all over greece i said to my self this is the place to live and die. GREECE or HELLAS better is the paradise of europe!!! 10/10 for me
@@xdx2653 I'm 60. I've been at my hubby to pack up and leave Aus and move to Kefalonia. Housing is so much cheaper. We could retire now. But as much as he loves Kefalonia he won't move. He would go for a year but we have a cat. There doesn't seem to be difficulties taking her there, but we wouldn't be able to bring here back into Aus. So that makes it impossible. Shame.
Lemnos is also a def visit, it has amazing beaches with amazing food and party life in town, in town there’s also a castle that you can see from restaurant at the beach and during sunset you can see the sun fall behind another island where basically no one is only monks. It has nice beaches like thanos beach and red rock it’s rlly nice and on some u can climb the rocks and jump onto the water.
Endless more islands. ALL islands in Greece are incredible. If I was a god, and would put 1000 random people on a random pick of 10 islands out of 6000 islands, each of the 1000 random people would tell how Greece is heaven and 10/10 holidays. And yet each of them had fully different experiences
My dad went to greec on holiday multiple times, visiting the big tourist spots. Then, a coworker told him to go to Kos sometime and ever since, he goes to Kos every year 😊 Gorgeous waters, lots of activities and kind people! And another plus is there's a lot of dutch people, so my dad can be at ease even though he doesn't speak greek and his English is limited 😊

I was in Zakynthos with my parents 20 years ago and it was the best summer I ever had. It‘s absurd how gorgeous that island is.
Wow that's interesting. Zakithos was the most disapointing Greek island I've been to, especially south of the island.
It has an ugly town that does not resemble an island and cheap, bad tourism but the landscape is overall very nice.

Rhodes is my happy place! I've been multiple times and fall more and more in love with the island, each time I visit.
My parents got married in Rhodes. We're from England and they loved it there, we went a couple of times as kids
Naxos is awesome! It was beautiful and had lots of cute shops and restaurants. The food was also amazing. I highly recommend a visit.

Going around Santorini on donkey back was the coolest thing I did on my honeymoon. Beautiful!
