It is an interesting match if the machina gadget had some trade x 1 cards, such as smashing or creature swap. All gadgets and machina monsters are expendables, I dont think is worth to invest cards to defend them such as trap stun, better assume the opponent will be able to play so you have some resources to clear the board and gain tempo.

There is no official "rule" for either. Play must move at a reasonable pace. Actually mind crush was ruled at SJC Edison that hand verification does not happen unless no discard

i'm the same way. I show my spells and traps for a few seconds then put them face down. Trap dustshoot's entire purpose is to check my hand for monster and select one. Not stare at my spells and traps and try to memorize everything. You aren't doing what the card says at that point.
