I also built this set, and I winded up the coil on a 4cm (diameter) tube. So I calculated my coil to be about 1.16uH. And with the included 106pF capacitance I get that it will tune from 1kHz to 50kHz but this is nowhere near the normal AM band and I coud, of course, not really receive anything :) I earthed it to proper ground and got some noise but I am sure I am totally off range for any transmission with this coil to really receive anything. My question is: What is the expected uH values of the coil if wouned up as per. the description with loops on 15,30,45,50,80 steps ?

I’m in the process of building a crystal set on a wooden board thanks for your video
I would earth to a central heating radiator as there is usually one in a room.
? It doesn't work I almost clicked buy now, but, did you connect a long antenna, and a good ground to it even?
Да, у них можно много поймать станций на такой приемник. У нас уже ничего...
It seems to be impossible to get the diodes?
easy to order them online. not many radio and tv shops left that you can buy parts at. search for 1N34A diode. many companies sell them online
