Security forces kill 31 Naxals in Chhattisgarh; Deadly automatic weapons recovered, search ops on

In a major crackdown on left-wing terrorism, 31 Naxals were killed in encounter with police in Maad area on Narayanpur-Dantewada border on October 04. A joint operation by DRG Dantewada, DRG Narayanpur, and STF teams was launched after receiving information about the presence of 40 to 50 Naxalites. This encounter is considered one of the biggest-ever crackdowns on Naxalites this year. According to the police reports, a heavy exchange of fire took place between security personnel and Naxalites after forces surrounded the Naxals in the forest. Post-operation, several deadly weapons were recovered by the security forces, that included modern-day automatic weapons. While speaking to ANI, IG Bastar, Sundarraj P informed that 188 Naxals have already been eliminated since 2024. Meanwhile, earlier this year, HM Amit Shah asserted that left-wing extremism will be completely eradicated from the country before March 2026
