Rumour has it, Benden is still thinking deeply, very deeply.
😂😂😂
To be fair to the guy, he was thinking very deeply about the fact that a week or so before this, he was fined GBP 22000 for voicing an opinion (about a referee). So this was him protesting and pretty much refusing to speak to the media at all, without actually refusing to speak to the media.
Clip is funny AF though XD
It is very interesting
@@Karma-qt4ji Thank God there's an explanation. That was just too C R I N G E!
@@elmarobberts5128 Yeah. When you know what was going on you realize he's actually a legend.
that interview 😂 Did Brendan even attend that game.... 🤣
I will have think about that one
Ik think about it *deeply*
it looked like he was doing an impersonation from the movie Shine,..David Helfgott talks exactly like that in the movie...repeating everything
Brendan was completely taking the piss like I bet he had a laugh looking at that after
He was referencing a film called Mike Basset: England Manager
brendan's brain : error 404 brain not found
He was protesting being fined for stating an opinion in a previous match and it was his first interview after a self imposed media ban. So it was totally deliberate
It was clearly sarcasm mate
Being diplomatic on camera, when he wanted to say 'Will ye ever feck aff an gimme peace'
Lol
He's a qualified doctor and a highly intelligent man. It was a brilliant way to deal with the situation in which he found himself.
That 15-man lineout close to the try line was actually a brilliant play... too bad they were already down by 33 points lol
That interview with Brendan Venter HAS TO BE the greatest post-game interview of any sport in the world.
Rumour has it, he's still thinking about that one
Deeply, very deeply
Brendan Venter: ultimate interview troll.
Can't tell if he is just bored by the questions and trolls the reporter or if he got slammed in the head just before entering the room.
@@wolvie1973 I think he got a fine for saying something a couple weeks previous, so he decided to just say a bunch of nonsense in protest. 10/10
That Brendon interview was gold 😂🤣😂
The Venter interview was because coaches are forced to give interviews after games, even if they don't want to. So they do the bare minimum to not be fined.
This sort of thing happens a bit in the NRL for the same reason.
0:49 "If they lost the line out they would have been in big trouble" eh? Because 40-0 down would be a lot worse then 33-0?
He's not on about the scoreline lmao
A try is a lot different to no try
wales last beat new zealand in 1853 and that due to some dubious refereeing decisions from the swansea born official
@@brettpacker2779 and New Zealand beat Wales in 1978 due to dubious refeering and diving by Kiwis, your point?
Not what he meant
Add in the recent Lion's vs Stormers superrugby game, where both teams wore nearly identical red shirts and created massive amounts of confusion. The Lion's even changed their tops to their differently coloured "away game" shirts at half time, even though they were the hosts.
I nearly cried with laughter after watching Brendan perform that marvelous interview! 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
That welsh line out was like poetry.
I actually went to ‘RUCKGATE’ and every english person on the stadium was screaming in anger it was really funny though
How was it allowed?
Italy didn’t commit to the ruck after the tackle so there was no offside line. You should find the clip of the ref telling Hartley that it’s not his job to explain the rules to him, it’s a gem.
@@Emtrax. because at the time, the rules stipulated that a player from the defending team must enter the ruck in order for it to actually be a ruck, otherwise it's just free play once the tackle is made - ergo no offside lines.
Eddie Jones then complained to WR, who introduced a law stipulating that in such a case the offside line from the defending team is set by the furthest forward foot of the defending team's players in the ruck.
It's because of this law change that England's last try against NZ in 2018 was disallowed due to Courtney Lawes being offside.
Ergo the absolute hypocrisy of crying Englishmen moaning about the try being disallowed, due entirely to a law introduced due to their previous crying about ruckgate.
@@Emtrax. prior to the law change it was easy as fuck to simply grab onto a player from the opposing team, thus making them form a ruck - and if they tried stepping backwards they were merely moving the offside line backwards.
Apparently England were incapable of doing this against Italy.
Man 2013-2016 was a strange time in the rugby lol
As an Australian the Phipps one is pretty embarrassing to watch.....in my opinion that was a disgrace, and if I were coaching that team he would not set foot on a pitch again....( if hes still playing )
Brendan is like every foreign football manager being interviewed
At 5:00 shouldn't it be a 5m scrum to the attacking team?
Yes. Don't know what the TMO was on.
@@SomeBritishGal1 both the ref and TMO don't know thw rules haha. Ridiculous decision 😂
@@sonicv549 they know the rules, they just thought that the player placing it back was the other team because of the yellow sleeve
@@rhysduncan8676 ah I see thanks for the reply
yeah, thats what I was thinking. Some people are dead in the head
That interview is a classic
I'd like to watch a game where one of the teams was entirely made up of journalists and Brenden Venter was the referee.
Best interview ever, if it was intentional
It was
3:23 Joe Marler what a guy 🤣
Legend
@Milosz Bara what did he do ?
Oliver McAleer listen up mate
@@Ollietradesfutures "You're f***ing boring me, hurry up!" 😂
Imagine getting yellow-carded for being tackled off the ball.
By your brother as well
@@jackburke2562 Haa yeah that definetly makes it worse. Hands down the worst decision I have ever seen by an official. Crazy to think that guy was actually payed to ref the game
Guy doing the interview felt like he didnt know a word of English and just picked up a few words in a dictionary just before the interview😂
This video ,very good ,very ineteresting, I'll have to think about that one, think about it deeply.
3:50 spectator top left just did a "boi"
Once watched a game (very windy) where a penalty was given and the ball went over the bar and between the uprights and the wind blew it back onto the pitch were an opposition player caught it and touched it down in the in goal area and the ref gave the score for the penalty and the score for the try.
"So what is the colour your team going to be?"
Team scoring the own try: "Yes"
I cant believe the guy in the last vid just shoving the ref! I couldnt stop laughing, what did he think was going to happen?
I was thinking that too, how would that action ever be a advantage, if hes in the way when your running with the ball gain a scrum
Bloody lucky not to get a red IMO. I used to referee basketball and if a player did that to me he was out of the stadium and on report as well.
The secret is to do it whilst he's facing the other way - then you can claim it was an accident.
Now that's what I call entertainment. Cheers mate.
6:10 That try 👏👏
Class Vids, should have more subs
Yo at first glance I thought that was Beauden Barrett giving the yellow card in the thumbnail 😂
The shinglers one 😂😂😂😂😂😂
That guy at the end was lucky to stay on the pitch.
He was eventually sin binned in that match for an arm to AWJ’s face if I recall. Like you say he was lucky to not be red carded for doing that to the ref.
That was the best interview I've ever seen
The set piece move had me dieing 😂😂💀
Brendan Venter was tripping on magic mushrooms
What even went on with that own try? Was it just a mistake on the refs part?
It seems so.
yeah the guy placed the ball behind his own line so it should have been a 5 meter scrum i guess
Got confused what team he was on, the patch of yellow on his shoulder was all that was visible to the TMO and he thought he was attacking
The weird thing is how they barely even reacted! I would be so pissed!
Good job using subtitles for each moment, mostly for rugby fans who arent part of the super rugby fraternity (aka my Canada)
there's a Canadian playing in the SR
Don't know whats worse ..the fkn interview or the ruckgate🤣
can we just talk about the prop standing in for wing at 6:25!
That interview just gave me early onset dementia
3:02 is at my rugby club (Hinckley)
I don’t watch rugby but brenden is a legend, cheers for bombo
1. That one could be abandonment of the match as unplayable.
9. I hope that at least got a look at the Tribunal level, if for a laugh if nothing else.
11. That should be two reds. One each side.
15. He's lucky that wasn't a long suspension and game over.
Loved Brendens response 😂🤣😂🤣
that set-piece move was just australian football
Love this channel keep it up
That wellsh line out opened my mind to a new way of thinking🤔
Own try has got to be up there..😃😂😅
6:23 disappointed that the 11 out on the wing never sprinted back to make the tackle! He could have made it
Joe Marler - I salute you Sir
Brendan just went on auto pilot for that interview
#8 when leapfrog became an official tactic in scrums
I don't understand rugby rules, but I'm watching this. If I'm not an example of an idiot, i don't know who is.
Amazing video bro!
Rumour has it , the scrum is till going strong
Ah Brendan, let me give you a hug
brendan should've been the interviewer because he asked stupid questions hahahahah
🤣🤣 someone pissed Brendan off..he was being sarcastic
Wtf was that interview 😂😂
Deeply thought-provoking 🤔
great video!👌🏻
somebody can me explain why Italians are allowed to do that
For it to be a ruck it needed an Italian player, besides the tackler, to join it. By not having another player go into it it remained a tackle and so there was no offside line so they could stand where they liked. The Italians chose to stand between the scrumhalf and first recievers.
Edgar if a tackle is made and a ruck isn’t called there is no offside line. The Italians took advantage of that fact and just kept bodies out of the tackle area so a ruck can’t be called. Genius actually.
A defending player had to be in the pile of bodies to make it a ruck but because the Italians made a tackle and immediately got out of the way it was a tackle only. There’s no offside line for just a tackle. This rule got changed when England and Eddie Jones cried and whinged
Thanks
@@Th3GamingW3lshman And it bit them in the arse the following year when Lawes was adjudged to be offsides, Underhill's try was disallowed (poor sod has scored twice against the All Blacks and twice it was overturned) and they lost the game narrowly.
Hey guys , pretty please answer to my question about the ENGLAND Vs ITALYgame
I know that if theres no opposite players commiting to the ruck it's not actually a ruck . But then why Italian players would wait that the scrum half passes the ball ? Why don't they just go for the ball ? I mean , if it's not a ruck and it's open play then nobody prevents you from getting the ball before the scrum half does. Why do they wait ?
good observation
Brendan still thinking about it…
That's probably a knock on...
This video is very good, very good, very interesting. Very interesting.
Great stuff !
You've gotta be stupid not to fight that decision from the ref
congrats you deserve it keep up the great work
Brendan : "hum...where's my brain ?"
Brenden is trippin balls
Ruckgate was fucking great banter mind 😂
rob cook, dancing on ice winner 2012....
Can someone explain why the Italians were allowed to stand offside on the rucks? Was the ref made an offer he couldn't refuse?
There were no players committed to the ruck so there was no offside line. The law’s now been changed so it’s not entirely possible but it had been used before in Sevens quite a bit.
Never seen og in rugby before
Brilliant video
Great vid
after watching ur vids I thought abt making my own channel but don't know where to get the clips. Any advice
Is it me or does the ref in the thumbnail look exactly like Beauden Barrett?
No comments on how epic #12 try is?
Brendan’s had enough.
Barnes ? he would know where he is standing .... and it would be intentional.
I wish I know what number 4 was about.
Did somebody spike Brendan Venter's drink?
Um yer drink, ill have to look into that, I'll think about that drink, 3 cheers for my drink
@@derek3249 could be, could be, I'll have to think deeply. Drink deeply, think deeply. Uh
He was pissed of with refereeing in teh tournament but had been fined the previous time he said something about it.
Do he channelled his inner Mike Bassett and 4 4 fucking 2'd it
@@hammerhiem75 yer i thought that was going on.
I vaguely remember the interview at the time.
Still funny to watch tho
14 is mental xD
Why the fuck is Wayne Barnes standing there though XD
He is Davie Dodds. Mike Bassett.
Brendan Venter legit does not give a fuck about silly politics from the RFU
That's how the trial Ai's are going to talk.
7:20 refs should be done for this.
An own try in rugby, wow...
You cant have more than 7 people in a line out now. It's the law
Why did phipps push the physio over
The last one absolutely infuriates me. The guy should have been given an instant red
The incident with the Shingler brothers shows why there are no Scottish referees at the higher levels.
I don't get number 9. And was the Aussie doing in 11??!
Love your vids jeep on going
SUCK
Ruckgate was amazing
Why is no one talking about the set piece
