To be honest Joel, looking at it from our end, it didn't spoil the video at all, I couldn't hear any noise coming from your dog. Seeing the gifts that people are sending you, you have some very faithful subscribers and we all know how grateful you are for everything that is sent to you.Again, I must say that the inclusion of Ben in your opening videos is brilliant, some of the little things he does on camera while you are opening your packages are absolutely hilarious. There was actually a note included with the bar of chocolate that I sent to him, but he was so intent on getting the wrapping off that he missed it. Let him know that he should steal that Peaky Blinders cap from you, it really suited him haha. Keep doing what you're doing Joel. x

Those of us who suffer anxiety will totally get what you are saying. It's hard to explain why you feel so overwhelmed by situations that don't affect others in the same way. It didn't spoil the video at all, but as someone who has anxiety, I could see the signals. To me anxiety is like the tide, your life is a long walk along the beach, sometimes the tide is at your ankles, sometimes you feel a little swamped, but it will go out again. By the way, you are not 'Flawed', you are just you, and that 'you' is why we all tune in. Keep sharing, and fingers crossed you enjoy your holiday here.
Very good analogy, I am 66 years old and could never explain to people how my anxiety affects me, I can be sitting on a bus and all of a sudden I feel I am drowning and have to get off, I can walk 4/5 bus stops rather than stay on the bus, I can be half way through shopping and something will overwhelm me, I just have to go home, I have been like this since I was about 15, something I have just got used to dealing with, I think it is like Joel said, when you feel you are not in control of things going on around you 🤗
I suffer from PTSD and Social anxiety, and I can so relate to what you said. I get it, because I live with Anxiety, like you, everyday. Social anxiety affects me in a different way, to my PTSD, but both can be debilitating when I’m triggered. On the bright side, I have awareness of it, which is probably a lot to do with therapy I’ve had over the years, and having a loving family, that understands. 🙏🏻

I agree that you do get used to dealing with it, but when it happens at awkward times like the ones you mention, it can be overwhelming [and irritating!]. When I get that feeling I find it helps to remember that the world does not 'have it in for me' because I'm not that important. It sounds negative but it's actually a positive. 'This plane won't crash just because I'm on it'. I try to think of it as separate from me, like the 'Tide', so I can view it as something other than the real 'Me'. You have to find what works for you. 🤗
@@lg_believe333 Being aware of it can help you to 'Own' it I think. I see the signs in others sometimes and it amazes me how many folk are on that 'Beach' fighting that 'Tide'.
I sometimes say this to myself when I get anxiety...God (higher power), grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
Yep, I got the serenity prayer on in a frame in my living room. When everything is getting on top, I remember to read it and remind myself that you can only control two things in your life. Your thoughts and your actions; everything else is just chaos.

But let’s get this straight... all your videos,ALL your videos! are fantastic and brilliant to watch. You are very good at what you do. Todays was . ..In my opinion, one of the best ! It was a normal family type of video with Ben and your lovely dog ...with a brilliant collar I might add 😁 it was fun to watch so please don’t beat yourself up about it. We foster a young lad with autism and I know how stressed and distressed he can get when things don’t go to plan or things get too busy and noisy, you always do great posts and showing a bit of yourself just makes us appreciate you even more. 😄😄😄

'20000 Leagues Under The Sea' was the first book I ever read for myself, as opposed to things I had to read for school. I followed it with 'The Swiss Family Robinson'.

Joel, I really enjoyed this video. You seem to be such a genuine guy and the interaction with your younger brother was really nice. My brother and I have never been close, so I was a little envious. We all appreciate your desire for the videos to be organized and properly entertaining, but you need not have worried, we couldn't hear Rosie's noise in the background. Also appreciate your frankness about struggling with things that don't appear to be under control. Many of us experience stuff like that and anxieties can just fire up with no warnings. Just be yourself and people all over the world love you and love your videos. Have a wonderful trip.
Buddy that video was perfect, Ben really helps by being there with you. My cousin is about his age and has a crush on Ben, she wanted me to tell you to have him in all your videos. Please grant her this wish so it gives my head peace lol she watches you videos all the time. I have simliar to what you have, but you handled it perfectly in this video even though the dog was distracting but its you and Ben interacting has brothers do that made this a great video. It would be nice to take Ben with you on your trip to the UK.

Reading the comments everyone enjoyed the video, it was enhanced by your openness in explaining your feelings, nothing to worry about. Ben is very amusing to watch when you are busy opening parcels.
I feel ya! I too get stressed when there’s too much going on around me and I feel I have no control. On a practical level you’ve set standards for box openings that you feel weren’t achieved this time around so you can look at it two ways:
1/ You eliminate what you thought were distractions to what you were trying to do or;
2/ You accept that when you introduce different dynamics into the video that things are going to go differently and therefore you need to assess whether you can work with that for future videos or not.
Apologies for my overly analytical response but everything is a learning curve so please don’t beat yourself up over it. Onwards and upwards old bean!😊😎👍🏼

Just be careful with those beers, 7% is a crazy high level usually used by alcoholics for a quick cheap fix, take it steady and be safe.
Wow. Bit judgemental. It's quite common for beers like them to be around that percentage. And although I'm not one of them, people who just like to enjoy a 'proper beer' will drink them. Not just usually alcoholics.

No one cares if we hear the dog in the background, believe it or not a lot of us have dogs so we are not going to bother about it. Serious note: when you start getting stressed take some deep deep breaths, your brain is running out of oxygen. You are what old fashioned Brits would call a silly sausage in an affectionate way.

Don't worry Joel, most people have a form of anxiety. It could manifest as anger, frustration, need to over prepare or be in control. It is not a flaw at all and the fact you're aware of it, endears you more to people. Awesome video. 😃

Well, for what it is worth, I thought that this video was wonderful! You provide us with the privilege of a glimpse into the life of a good, kind, caring, diligent, studious, and brilliant young man. A very rare treat in these days of darkness and instability. I truly appreciate your desire for perfection with your videos as I share similar drivers in my constitution. I choose to see this through the lens of providing me with a marker to aspire to but knowing that I, nor anyone for that matter, can ever reach such a destination. It is both the desire and the journey that truly matter and are the joy and reward. On a slightly less serious and somber note, how tall is Ben? Good Lord, for a kid who is 13 I think, he towers!! I have acute anxiety, so I feel you Joel. I do not have OCD, though. But I have known many that have and it can get quite incapacitating. The dog wasn't loud in the video at all. She was far away from the microphone. The fact that you have OCD and struggle sometimes is part of why you have so much compassion for others. 😍 However, I know what you mean when you are fighting yourself inside.

OMG Joel...the video was perfect. We got to see a bit of another side of you and it is OKAY. Life is just controlled chaos and we do what we can to keep it together and seem normal. The background sounds were minimal and if they weren't it wouldn't make any difference to your vid. It was a snapshot of real life with all the normal stuff that happens in real life. Your brother is a keeper and the dog is well....a dog doing dog things...not a problem at all. Be cool and try not to worry about whether we will like the video or not.
