I admire Aamir khan for his many acting works. I really love the way he portrayed in 3idiots. But, The way Vijay did was natural. Let me say why. We grew up watching and idolising vijay or ajith in our college days. I have seen nerds who are also cool dudes were very much like vijay's character in this scene. They do great in studies and hang out with us all the time. We wont know when they put work on their studies. Aamir khan is a master. He gives some wisdom to his character how to speak with a professor. But Vijay displays a normal college goer who didn't know the consequences when facing a faculty who is very much capable of ruining his life. I think Aamir is a bit too humble here for a college student.

Won't compare. Both are great actors. Being a hindi speaker, I haven't seen much of Vijay's work. We acknowledge Aamir as a perfectionist as he can do even dull scenes effortlessly making it enjoyable and intriguing. I have seen a few dubbed movies of Vijay and he is an excellent actor; specially when he does an angry hero. His action doesn't look forced and he has a great timing too. As far as this scene is concerned, the script wins. Both the actors are equally good in enacting it. In terms of rest of the cast and environment, 3 idiots seems to have an edge, like when we compare Omi and Sathyan. Otherwise it depends on which scene you watch first. The first watch scene will always look better than the second.

Shankar as improvised a lot to perfection. Vijay was so expressive. Every other actors did well. Amir is a legend acting was amazing but u cant compare both becoz obviously shankar will not take the photocopy of 3idiots he as proved it. In this case the idea of the defination of the machine has first come from Aamir Khan in the movie of 3 idiots. Vijay has taken the idea from the movie and has executed it in a better way. So I think the credit should go to Aamir Khan for the thought of this scene otherwise individuals will like the actor whose movie they have seen regularly.
