It looks like the minecart chests use the calculation for minecarts without players or something totally different.

Open sky attacks are their main weakness and the caves attacked from the sky. On the cliffs side, the other hand. Is quite strong. They dont have to mine tediously to go to lower heights for diamonds so resources is one major advantage to them, and the caves are surrounded providing a good defense. Rebuilding a cliff inside the caves prove that the cliffs are just a small portion surrounded by the superior caves and thus they show superiority towards the caves. This wasnt a joke, this was a highly planned strategic mission, declaring war on the cliffs. With their resource advantage they might just have a higher chance of winning
In some of Rek’s videos (like the one with the end fight) are so good - he puts so much effort in and sometime watching rek is such an enjoyable experience
