Those were the days! Imagine that, a ten minute gap between programs, filled by beautiful music and rolling pages - bring back the 80s😁
Educational themed teletext information pages accompanied by music filled gaps of ten minutes during Daytime on Two transmissions were common especially during Summer Term 1984 and Summer Term 1985.
And indeed why not too really I feel also?!
@@grahampearson5670 Yes they were too around then, but by 1987 or so later on they had alas all been filled with programmes and no fillers too.
Thank you for this-of course!!
There was a time when gaps in the Daytime on Two schedule were filled by Ceefax pages giving educational information. The music that accompanies the teletext information pages in this video does sound familiar to me and it was acceptable for it to continue over the programme slide.
It's from the tape "Sugar Loaf"
I remember the geography programme Near and Far being shown on BBC1 too.
Showing the BBC2 clock with the black background into educational themed Ceefax breaks of ten minutes or more was acceptable (it often occurred during Summer Term 1984 and Summer Term 1985).
Music played - tracks 1-4 of tape 577 Sugar Loaf (Frank Chacksfield Orch + other artists).
Also I am guessing that if this was June at the time, it must have been nearly the end of that term's series I would guess, as I don't think they were running into July or so too.
And when Daytime on Two then ended, BBC2 would then show nearly all day Ceefax if it was not on at the time I guess also.
I don't think it is Mark Waddington! I would say Simon Vance but I am not 100% certain?
It is Simon Vance, who I believe covered for Michael Maine after Michael was involved in a car accident.
