Cheers mate the decals really let this one down, but for a £10 you can't grumble

Just building this myself as my first kit and I wish I’d put it all together before painting instead of painting each bit individually! Doh!

Ah it's one of them mate live and learn it's all just learning the process, sometimes painting each bits the way forward

Hi there. I know this is an old video so I'm not expecting a reply but I thought id ask. I am wanting to get into modelling and I am torn between this Firefly and the Airfix Cromwell you covered in another video. Which would you recommend for a complete novice or do you have a different recommendation of hopefully a British tank kit?

I would say to go for the fire fly, its more modern and goes together easier than the Cromwell, as the Cromwell's got lots of clean up to do. The hardest part of the Firefly build is painting the tracks as they are one piece but can be painted with a bit of patience. Best of luck on your first build tho! and don't hesitate to drop me a comment if you need any tips along the way. Best of luck on your build

@@scalestuff1066 Thank you so much. I've just been bingeing a load of your vids for tips and tricks as you don't tend to use fancy methods from what I've seen and most are very beginner friendly. I'm definitely going to stick around and your channel has definitely been one of the most friendly that I've seen. Many thanks. 👍

Well I hope they help you out, for this tank I found that a can of humbrol 155 olive drab was a good base coat and easy to put on as a first hit on the model. trying to make the model for the everyman, im not some great who spends years on painting. And any time any questions just ask. If you do go for spray paint, a light hit, quick spray left to right about 30 cms away then move, builds up a fine coat and if in doubt dont add more paint!
