i've had my 7 inch drop tri ball b & w hitch for 6 years now, today i ordered a 5 inch pin mount drop , i'm going to swap out my 7 inch drop, pulling our cargo trailer with our atv, plus all our camping gear, water barrels for cooking/showers, my suspension squats more then i thought it would. i could've got the 5 inch years ago and swapped it,, but as you know, life gets in the way sometimes, so today i finally said to hell with it and called b & w , they are shiping it out tomorrow, i'm in west central florida, so hopefully by saturday,, anyway,, in my humble opinion, they are the absolute best hitch you can buy,
@@HandyGuy2016 hopefully my post made sense, i have a 2016 silverado 1500 z71 off road edition, the rear suspension is stiff-ish, but it still squats with 3 barrels of water in the bed, a 1000 lb atv in the trailer etc, i didn't think of all that when i bought mine,, so that's why i finally called them today and bought the 5 inch drop, the tri ball assembly will come off, that's what that notch is for just under the receiver tube,, anyway,, stay safe ,,
What is the drop distance between the ball and hitch? Or as level as you can be? I just got a BassPro bass boat and trailer and have a U Haul hitch and it is a major BCH! to keep straight when backing up! One video I watched said if the hitch is too high or low, it can have a major effect on towing. I have watched a billion U2 videos on backing up a trailor, blah, blah, blah. I did notice when backing out of my drive, I had to be dead on straight to get my trailer to pivot the way I wanted it to go. Am I missing something here?
Hitch height should be adjusted so that your trailer is even front to back or just slightly higher in the front. Slightly meaning an inch higher if not even.
Ordered a 7” for my stock 2020 chevy 2500. Returned for a 5”. Had 11.5” clearence without a load so too tight on threshold for clearence on the 7” so 5 works for all my trailers. Is a tri ball too
@@HandyGuy2016 all I needed always a bigger hammer. 8 pound sledge moved it. Now just need to pick up a new one. I figure a hitch pin from the farm store should work fine.

I can picture that, you stay safe as well.

Thanks for the comment, I have a Chevy 2500 also with 3inch level. Just bought the 9” u think I’ll be okay on clearance?
Should be
@@alceja3522I’m ok on clearance with 7” and no lift so yea you’d be fine.
@@getnautical9579 awesome thanks for the quick response
@@HandyGuy2016 thanks!
Currently fighting a bent pin on the ball flip.. driving it out isn’t working so great
That sucks 😔

That thing looks solid!!
Seems like it
After a year would you recommend this htich? I also have a lawn care business I tow a 5x12 trailer stock f150
Definitely, I am very happy with it. I tow an 8x20 enclosed lawn care trailer and a 7x16 dump trailer with no issues.
@@HandyGuy2016 awesome thanks man, I’ll definitely be purchasing now
Did your B&W hitch come standard with the Locking pin? Mine did not. I wonder if I got screwed
I purchased the locking pin separately, mine did not come with it.
Always the best video's glad you got something you wanted for awhile.
Thank you 😊
Great video buddy!! Made my mind up!!
Great to see a hitch with no slop.
I have been very happy with it.
Nice! Ive been looking for a new hitch.
I'm really liking it so far.
First to comment💪🏼loyal fan here looks real good can't wait for the mowing vids.
Thank you 😊 I can't wait to get started mowing 🙂
How did you determine your rise and drop size?
Park by your trailer hitch, with the trailer setting level and measure from the hitch on the truck up or down to your trailer hitch.
2018 F250 all factory here and I have a 7” drop. 👌
Need locks on all the pins!!!
I agree 💯
Why?
Someone is going to walk off with your pins. Need locking ones.
Agree 💯
Is this the 3” drop or 5” drop?
5"
Is your truck lifted or all stock?
Stock
looks easy for thieves to take
It would be, I recommend locking pins. Not an issue in my area, but I know it is in other places.
Your wife called, she wants her gloves back.
The 90's called, they want their joke back 😂
@@HandyGuy2016 Of course they called. They couldn’t text in the 90s.
Hey I like it but like other comment was you need lock pins so no one steals it.
Agree 💯
