I really appreciate your philosophy on letting him have time to develop. Not all trainers or disciplines allow that and it definitely can shorten the longevity of horses. And interesting point on trusting a young horse when they may be a bit hot and how tension/being scared will influence the horse. Something I think many riders know, but many also struggle with.
Wonderful. Beautiful horse. Amazing for a three year old. Enjoyed seeing you schooling a young horse. Yes would be nice to see a lunging video with young horses.
Grwat vlog. Nordes is stunning. He's my favourite horse of yours so far. It would be nice to follow his journey up to you competing him and maybe a vlog on what you do the first time you take your youngsters for a lesson and a competition.
Wow he’s a beautiful stallion Robbie full of energy and such a good boy love these how to clips your a beautiful rider ( I know I keep telling you that) 😂.I am sure the stallions have their naughty days would like to see a few clips of them been mischievous seen as we seem to like you and Tommie and your lovely team having a lot of fun.tfs😎🐎😎
Hi Rob en Tommie-I would love to see a new video from you showing some more how you encourage the nice connection when starting a young horse-alstublieft and please!
I love your riding videos! They are very helpful. I would love, though, to learn how you handle the stallions. What does it mean to run a stud farm? How are you handling stallions every day? Are they separated from the mares? Do they have a special turn out schedule or riding schedule? How often do you collect them? How? How do you sell the semen? All those stallion questions and more! Not many are talking about this stuff and for someone that always dreamed about owning stallions there isn’t much information about it out there. Thanks!
Love your videos, the content and how you present them! Would love to see you longing a horse for the first time, how to prepare for the spooky stuff at shows or when you show them for the first time. I also would appreciate a video about initiating the passage, similar to your piaffe video. And last but not least, some tips how you and Tommie got your super still legs in trot and canter. Thank you! ❤
Thank you for such a great video! Can you tell (or make a how to video) how to longe a young horse? Do you use side reins for longing, from what age of horse? Do you longe a 3-year old before riding with side reins? How short are the side reins? What else is important while longing a young horse before breaking?
Thoroughly enjoying the "how to's" and equally happy to know we will still see you both being silly and making some fun videos as well, which is what make's your vlog unique!....ideas....how to deal with a 'spooky' horse, how to bring a mare back into work after foaling, how to exercise a horse while you can't ride it....how to make pizza? ...I know you guys enjoy sharing the kitchen too!!
I love all of yall's videos. Nella Frosst below said it well--please keep giving us the fun videos we all enjoy. Again, Happy 5th Anniversary guys.!!!!!
Leuke how to , Nordes doet het al super braaf! Prettig om te kijken naar zo'n paardvriendelijke manier van opleiden 👌👍. Leuk om de ontwikkeling van de paarden te volgen 🤩
Thank you for the video, it was very helpfull (as always). I have two video suggestions 1. How do you balance a young horse in canter? My 4 year old is having trouble cantering “on his own legs” and we always seem to be sideways in the turns instead of straight. 2. How do you practice a forward transition from canter to trot or trot to walk without losing impulse and energy? Kind regards and thank you for your video’s!
Leuke video duidelijk uitgelegd. How to correctly redirect unwanted behavior. for ample nibbing, Ow when Picking up feet, saddling, turning in stable, running to the field . Etc Do you have Handy Problem solving ways ? Some off the issues people do come across with young en sometimes older horses . Or how to redirect unwanted issues under the saddle?
@@Begijnhoeve_official I have a young mare coming 3 next summer. Will likely wait and start her as a 4yo. She is from a slow developing mother line. But time will tell what she looks like next summer. She's currently enjoying the pasture life ☺️
i love you guys and your vidoes and your horses and how you train them - once backed as a 3 year old do you turn them away - if no what do you do with them in the first year
Depends on the horses. Some horses need light training to get stronger / more stable. Some horse need more time and go back in the field for some months
Great video and very very helpful!! We just startet our 3yr-old warmblood gelding and he has taken on the habit of taking the wrong lead on the left hand, even while lunging. Any suggestions on how to correct that 🤔? Apart from this he is fun to work with, very supple and soft in his connection and VERY relaxed 😂. Forward thinking ist key 😂👍... thanks for any ideas!!
Thnx ! Haha yes thinking forward is step one 😎 try to make him a bit more hollow on the left and try to repeat the transition trot - canter a few times i think
@@Begijnhoeve_official Oh yes, of course, that really makes sense 😊👍!! He is quite hollow on the right! We shall try this, thnx a lot & keep up the good work 👍
Love this video and explanation while you ride. I was wondering how many days a week would you ride Nordes? When would you add other movements (like leg yield, shoulder fore, etc)?
Thank you. If not too much trouble for you to create, but when Nordes is ready for leg yield, would you mind making a video showing the training of that movement?
... what do you do if a pretty "cold" horse that has a rather long body does not easily accept the bridle, and gives you a really stiff feeling. Are there any exercises that you recommend so the horse releases the neck muscles more easily? When I pick up the reins, there is too much of a resistance. Hopefully you can tell me something to improve that. Thank you!
Prachtig paard! Bedankt voor deze How To video, ze zijn erg leerzaam en helpen mij goed op weg tijdens mijn trainingen😎 Super fijn jullie duidelijke uitleg. Kan ik de video over het plaatsen van de schouders ook ergens vinden? Keep up the good work!👍🏻
Hoi als het goed is verschijnt er een linkje in beeld rechts boven als je op de i drukt kom je bij die video. En anders even op het kanaal in de How to list kijken moet er bij staan! ☺️
Why do people try to start these horses so young? At two years old their bones are still growing, they shouldn’t be ridden until they’re three! This is how the racing industry ruins horses! 😡😡😡
I would not think that horse is a three year old 😲🤩 Love the trot and canter! ❤
Lunging video would be great. He is exquisite and sparkles with personality.

He is so well behaved for a three year old.A lovely video .
Really enjoy seeing young horse development. I just purchased a 16 month old PRE colt. Been handling him daily to make sure he learns good manners.

Excellent! Please, more on young horses.
Wat een mooie draf en wat heerlijk dat hij zo blij die oortjes erop heeft staan de hele tijd!

Where you show a little different situations or problems.

Have you ever done a video to help the nervous rider ride the the young horse forward?
Love this video and explanation while you ride. I was wondering how many days a week would you ride Nordes?
When would you add other movements (like leg yield, shoulder fore, etc)?
Thnx !
3x a week, when they have a good balance we start with some leg yield. Shoulder in etc is for much later
Thank you. If not too much trouble for you to create, but when Nordes is ready for leg yield, would you mind making a video showing the training of that movement?
If you check our playlist there is a video already about lateral movements with a younger horse!
