This was a great episode of a great show. I don't think I've seen anyone else highlight what Parkinson's looks like through the eyes of a teenager with an affected parent. Good work.
Step aside Jessica I think you have met your match! Katelyn brought humor to the subject of how she views her mom with PD. Jessica you have accepted PD with courage and bravery which has obviously helped Katelyn feel comfortable talking about it with her peers. And your desire to help others definitely shines through Katelyn as well. Well done Katelyn! Loved this episode!
Great job by Kate! I was 36 when diagnosed and my kids were 12 and 10 and 10 (boy/girl twins); I am now 50. I had DBS 6 years ago and it has been a ride for all of us. Thanks for including Kate in the podcast; I enjoyed hearing her perspective. When I got diagnosed with PD, my wife and kids also got diagnosed with PD and the kids had to deal with it on top of everything else an early teen has to deal with these days. I pray for you and Brian and your families.
My kids are 15 and 16. I was just diagnosed. This was wonderful to get your daughter’s take on all of this. Life span was one of the first things my kids wondered about, too. 10 years ago I had thyroid cancer, I’m cancer free since. Parkinson’s is a lot better to deal with than that.
An excellent topic to cover, gives a completely different angle and insight. Jessica's daughter is wonderful and a natural in front of the microphone - a credit to her parents!👍
You are one mature, amazing and gorgeous young lady.❤ You do have an amazing and caring mom. And I'm sure she's so proud of you for acknowledging her value and what she's doing for her community and herself. One thing I love about her is that she does things with research and not just throw words out in the air. Another thing I love about her is that she is not like some that start out to help others, but then they get involved with trying to become a popularity and getting followers more than helping others🙏. ❤❤
This is very good today. I listen to all podcasts, I am always looking for new information on Parkinson’s, I’m 72 years old and trying to keep out of a wheelchair. May God Bless you all.
Jessica, you are a fantastic person and your daughter is a spitting image of you with here humor and beautiful smile. You are an inspiration to many and any time I listen to your podcast, I leave with a smile on my face. :)
Great episode! I don’t have kids and my Parky friends here in Puerto Rico don’t have either so if is very intriguing to me how you deal with Parkinson’s and kids. Thank you for doing this. This podcast has helped me a lot ever since my diagnosis.
I enjoyed this podcast but I noticed a fullness in the front of your daughter’s neck. I am concerned about a goiter and I think she should see her doctor about it. If I crossed a privacy barrier, please forgive me, I just want her to be healthy.

Katelyn is a sweetheart & mature beyond her years! Everyone needs a "Katelyn"!
Big proud mom moment. Katelyn is awesome on camera.
