Edit: I agree that there are definitely parents and doctors who are confusing something as meaningless as being a tomboy or whatever the “boy” version of that is, with true gender dysphoria, which can’t really be diagnosed until adulthood IMO.
If a child can't give consent for sexual activity then they can't choose a gender either. WHY is this so hard for adults to understand.

@debra young Had she continued to promote her feline delusions beyond the age of four I'm sure my parents would have sought professional help. As I understand it, she then wanted to be a fireman/Wonder Woman/a shetland pony. Had medical professionals recommended she was made into an actual cat I think my parents would have refused, as would any responsible parent.

So the answer is when your doctor says "you can't have your tubes tied, you're only 25! What if you want to have more kids? (Even though you have 5 kids already)." You twiddle your thumbs and say "umm well OH I'm a guy now!" And doctor will say "welp, let's rip out those ovaries, shall we?"
My daughter is 30. She has had endometriosis for quite some time. It's horrible. I had it, as well. No doctor will consider a hysterectomy until at least 35. She has no children and they have a problem with that. She was told a couple of years ago that she cannot become pregnant, due to the advanced thickening of tissue. The world is completely upside down! Be blessed, Sarah, today and always! =)
I think the reason doctors won't remove a uterus is because they don't want to be sued if a woman has a hysterectomy for medical reasons, then realizes later that she wants to have kids but can't because "that asshole doctor took her uterus out." Making an irreversible, life altering decision like that can put a doctor's job at risk even if the woman wanted it at the time. Don't ask me why this doesn't apply to sexual transitions though. I can't imagine there hasn't been a single case of someone transitioning and then later regretting it and saying "what the hell was my doctor thinking??!!"
Hey! Trans male here. I hope you're aware not all trans people get surgery, and even if they do how is it any different from all the different things our society is okay with? Like plastic surgery or abortion? Both things negatively impact your health. It's 2019 man, everything will screw up your body in the long run. I'm sorry you can't accept that trans people make you uncomfortable but we are no different than you all. We are all just people looking to be embraced by people.
A married adult woman can't even get a tubal ligation (her tubes tied) without having had at LEAST 2-3 children already and her husband's approval (I'm not necessarily saying that's bad, I have mixed feelings about it,) but a MINOR can get an ELECTIVE radical hysterectomy!?!?!?!

@Covah Redro It goes the same with tubals. I've worked with docs for years (30 of them) and that's always been the case ... both sexes need their spouse's approval before going through sterilization procedures.
Makes sense after reading all comments, plus while it is bogus to make men always sterilize themself. A vasectomy is safer and easier than getting tubes tied.
@クリスタルきみこ I think every doctor is different as far as the husband thing, to be honest, and I also think it depends on other factors maybe? Once you've had 7, I think generally any doctor would do it. Most people with 7 kids wouldn't get their tubes tied and then end up regretting it.
Do they still require spouse's approval? I know they did when my mom was having her fourth child and they wouldn't let her go forward with it because he'd went back to work and wasn't there to sign. She ended up having 6 kids.

And I mean, I get the logic behind that, they want you BOTH to decide together that you DEFINITELY don't want anymore children and be damn sure about it, because it's basically impossible to go back. I know someone that was 1000% sure she wanted her tubes tied after 2 kids, she got it done, and now she desperately wants another baby and there isn't a single thing she can do about it. And she's definitely not the only one. So I get why they're weird about it, it's a really big decision to sterilize yourself, especially as a woman, but at the same time, it's your body and if you want to sterilize yourself... I mean, does anyone really have the right to stop you? Yeah, you might regret it, but that's on you, you know? I don't know. That's why I have mixed feelings about it. I honestly feel that the doctors are trying to look out for people and make damn sure they're sure before they make such a huge decision, but I also think people should be able to do basically whatever the hell they want to themselves as long as it doesn't hurt or end the life of anyone else.
But, when you compare that to CHILDREN being able to get sterilized with basically no barriers in their way simply because they think AT AGE 3-17 that they're the opposite sex.... that's insane. That's TOTALLY insane. And I'm definitely of the mindset that it should be nearly impossible for a CHILD to decide (or even their parents) to literally sterilize themselves or even just halt their body's development. That should be an ABSOLUTE last resort and there should be less than 0% doubt before going into that for a MINOR. You know what I mean? That's why I brought up the tubal thing. It doesn't make sense that in the same country adult women have to jump through hoops to prove they're sure before sterilizing themselves... but a literal minor child, sometimes as young as 7-8 years old (when the hormones are started) can decide to sterilize themselves based on a feeling that is proven to be transient 80% of the time in kids?????
Horrible double standard, and totally bloody insane. I don't think kids should be able to sterilize themselves AT ALL unless it's to literally save their life, like in the case of uterine or testicular cancer or something, which basically never happens in kids anyway.

I was wondering where the tomboys went! When I was in grade school the girls that played softball with guys at recess were cool! Smash that ball as hard as we could, we'd field and slide and come in just as dirty. But we loved it. I never would have thought one of my good friends,a girl,was gay. What was gay? This happened to my daughter as well, fortunately I put a stop to it before any drugs were given. I took her to multiple therapist who all affirmed this and pushed it!! She is just a girl in puberty who is uncomfortable with her changing body and has been bullied by girls at school. This is an attack on our most vulnerable. Makes me sick to my stomach and sad that my children have to grow up with this craziness.
When I was in third grade, I wanted to be a boy. I remember refusing an Easter dress that year, and wore a purple pantsuit instead. I sat in chairs backwards because I saw men sitting that way on TV. I am extremely grateful I went through my phase before today’s insanity because I could have been medicated against my parents’ will, and my two beautiful children would never have been born.

I agree with most of what you say but it's not necessarily a mental disorder rather just a lack of understanding and comprehension in the psychological development in youth. Thanks to the political atmosphere those misconceptions are reinforced and encouraged. Its amazing that people will tell their kids that it's just a crush or puppy love when they lack experience in relationships but they won't take the same critical thinking when it comes to development concerns such as this. Dan Conser My son at the age of 2 or 3, 7 years younger and extremely facinated with his big sister, wanted to be a girl. He is now a 27 year old perfectly functioning man. My grandson, who also has an older sister and used a lot of time with females in day care etc, went through a stage where he wanted to be a girl. It is NORMAL. I’m sure the opposite happens for girls with elder brothers, or male relatives that make a big impression on them. What is NOT NORMAL is letting the boys dress up like girls or run them to the doctor! That is when things WILL GET OUT OF CONTROL. A lot of girls go through a tomboy stage and grow out of it by themselves, with no one making a big fuss about it.

I am a retired counselor and I would NEVER recommend these meds be given to anyone under the age of 18
I am a current counselor. The "meds" are decided upon by a team of people including parents. You know this. Not all kids should have hormone blockers. You know this. Not all trans kids are interested in blockers. You know this. Teens on T and E understand what is going to happen because the team has discussed it and the family makes the decision. You know this. Trans kids who are ignored and we pretend are just "confused" kill themselves. You know this. Using your "status" as a retired "counselor" (were you licensed) is misleading.

As a transexual man who came out at the age of 14, I am so grateful that affirmative care wasn’t prominent, and that I was sent to a non-biased therapist for four years while also seeing two psychiatrists before starting medical transition at the age of 18. Transexual people exist, but we are far, far rarer than what is being seen now. Too many children are growing up believing they are transgender because of social media’s influence. ROGD is a real problem that needs to be addressed critically rather than ‘affirmatively’. Children should not be allowed to medically transition, period.

A year late, but thank you! My 18yr. niece is upset with me 60yr. because I said that I feel that being Transgender is kind of being force fed to young people due to the internet, and other media. So many kids want/need to feel special and it seems being any one of the LBQT-xyz might be their way of getting that need met.

One of the tom boys i grew up with in high school. Became, probably the best mom and girly girl i kmow.
She was a tom boy well into university. She can still hang on a racket ball court today... even she admits she could have been caught in this movement. She would have regretted never having her three kids, one of which is a clone of her, right down to her goofy back peddle. They have been having the argument about tom boy vs transgender. I have been over there a half dozen times telling her about her mom in high school. Even took them to the local racket ball courts just to prove her old lady can hang with a jock.

No you wouldn’t cause you know they have no concept of what credit is nor what debt looks like and that you have to pay back the money you use. That’s irresponsible to hand a kid your own credit card. I’ve seen this happen where a girl saw something on tv and wanted it so bad that she asked Siri to purchase it off of Amazon which Siri had access to the credit card account and purchased the items. And guess what, the bill comes in and the parents are livid cause they have nothing in their account to pay for the other bills and wonder what happened and then see that a package came in the mail. The little girl was happy but parents were not and told the mail person to take it back and get the money reimbursed. And the kid flips out cause kids want what they want right there and now. They cannot grasp the concept yet of what it is to make a living wage nor what bills are. Pretty sure the child got scolded for using the account. But it is a warning to the adults to use child block on channels and credit cards.
If I would have done that I would have got a beating x2 for whatever age I was. It would fall under child abuse since getting a whooping is too PC, I learn quick to not make the same mistake or I get a beating again which hurts. So parents, please teach your kids responsibility and learn to say “NO” and that your word is final. They will kick and scream their heads off but their phase will end after the tantrum and go to something else that their imagination has.
So why are we letting kids run around telling the adults what to do when their brains haven’t fully developed to understand the concept of what makes a man a man and a woman a woman??
They need more education and parents need to be part of the kids development by showing them exactly what males do for a living (dads need to show them how to grow up to support oneself and family) and females do for a living (moms need to spend time with daughters to prepare them for the future to get them ready of what to expect at puberty so they don’t freak out, and get them use to female roles in the home like taking care of baby siblings, to get an idea what a mother is like to care for someone that can’t care for themselves)
Give the kids tasks to do at home to make them feel accomplished at doing something. Give them goals to achieve.

I was a tomboy since family is all boys and I was a surprise to the family for being the only girl. They didn’t know what to do, but they tried their best so I would learn my role as part of the family.
When I was a kid I wanted to be an Engineer. I would go to the saw mill with cousins to grab the wood cart carrier and push it on the tracks and I have my Engineer hat, and I pretend to be delivering the lumber.
After that go jump in the big pile of sawdust and be covered head to toe.
I grew up but didn’t become an engineer. It was all pure imagination, for fun.

From age 10-15 I was trans. As a loner, I liked the acceptance and guidance the community provided. The Transgender community doesn’t allow you to think outside this box. I turned down counselors because I was so convinced this was right. I still have a bit of problems involving pronouns, but I’m happy that I didn’t switch genders. Recovery with u and your family is difficult and learning about yourself is hard. I’d like for more kids to be saved from this fate

I recently graduated from medical school and residency. I scored in the top 1% in the nation on my boards. I’m absolutely ashamed of the
medical community for going along with this. These people have mental health issues or they’re too young to know whats going on. 85% of children who think they are the opposite sex as a adolescent will no longer feel this way once they go through puberty. The medical community should be ashamed of themselves for harming these children. We take an oath to first do no harm! What the hell are we doing?

At age 14, my daughter told me she was transgender and had been feeling like she was in the wrong body since 2nd grade. Nothing in her history EVER led me to believe this was true. I started doing my own investigating (it also helps to be dating a scientist) and there are many factors that have contributed to why I feel she thinks this way.
1) Peer pressure - she has never been one to “fit in”. As a very sensitive, observant, compassionate and caring child, she saw us (her dad and I) doing our best to be responsible for our own emotional intelligence, stop being subservient to societal norms, and we started to remove ourselves from the “American Dream Matrix”. This allowed our children to travel around the world and experience things beyond the veils of so-called “normal”. When we enrolled her back in school she struggled and had a very hard time - especially in middle school, like most girls.
2) I came across an interview with Dr. Stasha Gominak who introduced me to the idea of Vitamin D deficiency and how closely linked this is with dysphoria of all types, especially gender dysphoria. When a person (especially a child) is allowed to be on a blue screen for way too long, his/her proper distribution of gonadatropins (sex-hormones) are stifled and improperly released, or not released at all. Gominak proposes Vitamin D, gut health (with massive hormone and endocrine disrupters in our food it’s also not hard to draw a link with the disorders and dysphoria’s that are currently erupting), and lack of sleep a child will easily enter into dysphoria. After reviewing this, we had our whole family’s Vitamin D levels tested via blood draw with an independent unbiased lab. My daughter was “severely insufficient” in Vitamin D with a level of 15 (normal starts around 50).
3) Her dad and I split up when she was 7 and we have increasingly grown distant in our parenting styles, which has created confusion and disruption in her stability.
4) I was out of town when she snuck out of her dad’s house, met up with some “friends” and proceeded to find herself in a sexually inappropriate situation that she didn’t know how to get out of. Even though she said “NO”, she still ended up performing oral sex on a boy who is her peer, then all the feelings of shame, guilt, helplessness, etc. surfaced and all of a sudden she wanted to be a boy.
5) Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria is what some call this sudden turn, and I’ve noticed at this age it is mostly teenage girls wanting to be boys. I questioned her, took her to counseling, and aside from her answers of “just wanting to wear sweatpants and not dress like a girl so I can hang and game” (I was a tomboy - I totally get it) there was no significant reason for her to want to be a boy except that “it would be easier”. I questioned every adult I could that knows or knew her outside of my reach (teachers, coaches, etc.) and they all remember her having pink this, girly that, nurturing qualities, and shopping habits that are typical and more prevalent for girls. Not one adult ever felt like her gender identity was an issue and were shocked when I asked them.
6) Without wanting to demean her father, there is a common underlying issue that he holds in regards to his unhealed relationship with his mother. His lack of respect for her was/is passive-aggressively projected on to me (which is why I left). His outstanding treatment of allowing our son to be independent whilst not letting our daughter be independent is also (my opinion) of one reason why she wants to be a boy... not that I’ve always been the perfect mother, as a woman I am still continually learning what it means to actually BE a woman... so authentic role models in family and society - for better or worse - is a commonly denied aspect that eludes my daughter, my son, and most people’s understanding of what “normal” actually is.
I have found myself on the receiving end of nasty comments from her, her father, and other affirming advocates of people who identify as transgender. As her mother, I SEE my daughter, the threads of her life, I intimately know her history and the delusional self-diagnosis she as given to herself. I have not once colluded with her. The boundaries I hold firm to are “You can cut your hair, you can change your clothes, and you can patiently explore, and aside from continuing to listen to you, no radical change at this point is going to happen. No drugs, no surgery, etc. Most people are uncomfortable going through puberty, you are no exception.” In my stance on this others have threatened me with child endangerment - that if I didn’t put her on Testosterone now, I would be held liable for her eventual suicide. Even though there are evidence based articles and papers showing that when girls take T, suicide rates go up, criminal behavior goes up, depression goes up, etc. So standing strong - and letting my daughter know that I won’t be calling her a HE, HIM or THEY (They??? Really? So does this mean trans people who call themselves “they” are schizophrenic?) that I will and do what I can, including consistently listening to what she is saying underneath the delusional actions, working to figure out the underlying trauma or wounds that perpetuate her feelings, thoughts and regurgitated expressions. This is my job even if I’m the only one who is willing to risk being her mother first and not her friend - I will always be here to tell her the truth… even when it pisses her off.
Additionally, enrolling her in Jujitsu, encouraging her art, writing and even letting her join drama has given her a more stable sense of self, encouraging her deeper expressions, and allowing the journey to unfold with sometimes tearful boundaries, has seemed to help her confidence and ability to believe in herself more and more. As long as she “needs” me to validate and affirm her delusion because she does not know who she is, then I will not. And when she doesn’t need this affirmation anymore because she can truly stand on her own, then I will not need to and I can let those boundaries dissolve as well.
Anyway, it’s been difficult being prosecuted and hung by others who are not in my shoes, but I do have a solid sense of myself (and dissolution of my self) that standing strong with my daughter and dismissing other people’s fear mongering opinions has and continues to be the right choice. And THANKFULLY I have a beautiful partner who in his logical and scientifically driven mind can hold me, help me make sense of things, encourage my daughter and pick me up when I collapse in tears and utter powerlessness when I cannot find my own footing until I can stand up again. This is also what I am trying to teach my daughter and son… and what I practice in my work.
She is now 16, and with her ever growing independence, driving, working, experimenting, being a teenager, etc., the other day she let me know that she has started to release her grip on needing to identify as transgender... I will remain patient, steadfast, compassionate and most of all, continue to educate myself as this has been the most helpful action of not reacting in fear, but allowing the truth to be lived out... AND I love her no matter what.
Good luck to all of you going through anything like this, and if your family and friends are, please let them know there is a LOT of misinformation and dysfunctional agenda’s being spread and touted as THE truth, so stay diligent, discerning, know why you are taking the actions you are, and if fear is controlling your movements, notice that as well so you can be truthful with it, which will enable you to come back into alignment with what is the most loving and truthful for all involved.

Many years ago, my doctors stopped giving me hormone treatments for surgical menopause, because the hormones seriously increased my risk of heart attack and stroke. You cannot tell me that these drugs are safe for children if they aren't safe for an adult.

The state of California won’t let me access my teen’s medical records, ironically it also won’t let my teenager access her own medical records. But according to what I am learning, if a child says there are the opposite gender they get surgery to alter their body, where the hell are we going?

It's very important to keep your kids busy! Get them playing an instrument, learning a foreign language, etc. Don't allow them to have their own social media accounts until they are minimum 16 and tell them directly how it can mentally affect them. We parents have to be proactive!!
In puberty between 12-17 I had huge difficulties with my body changes and experienced gender dysphoria. But I came to peace with it and heck I'm so glad I didn't ever try to switch gender or some shit like that.

My 2 year old son, with two older sisters....loved wearing a red purse and sparkly shoes. He grew out of it. My daughter at age 4 cut all her hair off and wanted so badly to be called peter pan. Her favorite movie. She grew out of it. Let your kids explore, but please dont assume and drastically steer them one way.
My 9 yo daughter told me a lad in her class confided to her that he was born in the wrong body. He told my daughter about his parents encouraging him to wear dresses etc. I met the lad and could tell he was just a normal lad, maybe a little sensitive, but certainly nothing about him that was different than any other boy when I was a kid. This is a sick distraction to whats really going on and designed purely to ruin peoples lives and make sure they don't bother those in charge.

Yeah, but sometimes you have little choice... Like, in some countries you are not allowed to keep your child away from school (so your child will be taken away from your "child abuse"). In other countries you probably still can homeschool, but with the condition that you child succedes in their official exams. So all the education of their crap is on you. Moreover, very often you have to go to a shitty work for the whole day, and you leave your child....

Stop this abuse its disgusting. These vulnerable children need to be just loved and treated normally and when they are 18 o 21 years old and have had some life experience let them make their own decisions.
There is experimentation going on, heard of the story of the woman who had twin sons and one of them had an incident aged 8 months old that required slight surgical correction on his penis. But it ended up harming him permanently because the doctor made a wrong move.
Instead of dealing with that, another doctor adviced the mother to just raise child as a girl and she took the “advice” this doctor kept reports on child’s development as mother raised one kid as the biological boy he was born as and the other as a girl.
The child being experimented on grew up confused as no one knew the truth including himself and his twin brother.
Growing up he felt isolated because he wanted to do what his brother did and envied the clothes he wore. He didn’t fit in with the girls and during puberty his jaw line and wide shoulders made him look different to other girls. But it suited his identical twin brother.
By age 15 the mother over come with guilt saw her child wasn’t coping and felt responsible (no shit) guilt ridden she told him the truth. Even though the doctor tried to brainwash her into “coping” and holding on. Meanwhile said doctor was writing a research thesis on her child that she didn’t know of.
When the child found out he had a make over and began to transition back to his truth instantly.
The psychological damage however happened and he had severe trust issues, he married briefly in his 20s but eventually committed suicide because of the trauma he experienced till age 16.
What’s tragic also is his twin brother committed suicide few years later because he couldn’t live with what happened to his brother and live down the fact that he left this world broken.
That’s two young men dead because of this agenda and it’s ramifications.
All this because of a accidental botched surgery that later medical development could have corrected.
The truth always catches up after the lie has ran around the world.

Yeah, growing up in the 80s and 90s I was aware of men who liked dressing up in women's clothing for a sexual kink, but at school, there was absolutely no one who seriously believed they'd been 'assigned the wrong gender'. There were some boys who wore make-up (Goths) and some girls who wore Doc Martens and boyish clothes, but not a single one of them said they thought they were in the wrong body. My kindergarten child was convinced she was half cat...she kept this up for at least a year, when she finally gave up this persistent game she expressed embarrassment and asked me why I didn't tell her that was impossible...I tried?! She grew up incredibly intelligent and I think her creative intellect was making unusual pathways in her brain through play and as a cat this timid child could scratch people who where bothering her. Unusual children don't need "treatment", they need love, support and acceptance.

Most girls are uncomfortable with the changes their body is going through during puberty. This is normal. I hated everything about being a girl in my teens, but the answer wouldn't have been to turn me into a boy. Teen phases are all about going through the hormonal/physical changes and suffering through them, it's part of growing up and maturing.
We will stand with you! Tell me where to sign and what to do. It should be criminal to perform any surgery or hormonal treatment on a minor.

It's been made so normal that all kids these days are saying they are gay or trans just to be cool. Everyone of my teenage daughters friends are doing this. One girl cut off her hair and changed her name to Lou (she's so mentally unstable she stabbed someone who seen her stealing) another boy says he's gay and paints his nails and dresses like a girl (right after his abusive father was taken away) another girl swears she's bisexual even tho she's never even tried to date a girl but she dates every boy in town (she cuts herself when boys breakup with her) .... these kids need mental help NOT hormones and hormone blockers

I had three kids and they still wouldn't tie my tubes(now I have 5, & they finally tied them for me) but they're going to take a child's reproductive organs? I was old enough and mature enough to make that decision and I already had children they shouldn't be able to tell me no... But they're going to say yes to a child that's going to change the course of her future permanently? I'm hating this world more and more everyday.
Being male I've obviously never gone through female puberty, but from my understanding and observation it's an incredibly tumultuous and emotionally stressful experience for girls with a lot of body image and confidence issues being fairly common. I can see how these kind of narratives and propaganda can influence a lot of them to try and opt out of that hard time in their lives.
On the flip, you have another narrative of everything male and masculine being bad. So I can see boys who are on the more feminine side and perhaps even being gay might be swayed by this barrage of attacks on maleness to think that to distance themselves as far from being male as possible is correct.
The problem with the whole gender thing right now is that the sexes have a spectrum of behaviors and tendencies within them. The bell curve for male and females overlap and are basically the same spectrum with different distribution curves. Just because a female acts and feels very masculine doesn't mean she isn't female, and the converse is true for feminine males. The denial of this is causing catastrophic confusion and problems for young people now.
Let's follow the bread crumbs to who started these agendas in various states.

Steve Rosberg indeed. I have seen people accusing them of seeking/enjoying publicity at the child’s expense, but I am not sure how true that is. At any rate, they turned the child into a reality star. Even that, on its own, is enough to condemn them in the eyes of all reasonable people.
