    I am a 68 year old woman. I know nothing about repairing cars. But my son had this problem with his truck and I watched your RUclips. It was very clear and I was able to follow it and make the repair myself. My only regret is that I had to buy the part from a parts store paid about four times as much as I would on Amazon but I needed the repair done immediately. Thank you for this video.

    Saweet! Thanks brutha, I appreciate it! Some people just don’t think about it, I’ve been a mechanic my whole life, like 44 years, I build engines, transmissions, carburetor rebuilds, wiring, etc. but on almost all older stuff, lord knows, I have the tools, but when something like this happens to one of your vehicles you can be completely lost! Just ask a concise question and poof, get a step by step video from you! Awesome, problem solved! Thanks again! Hope you get a sponsorship from a big tool company?

    Before you buy a new switch, you can try squirting some contact cleaner or WD40 I to the little holes on the back of the switch that has the problem. Work the switch back and forth manually a dozen times or so. Wipe off any residual cleaner and then try the switch. It worked for my brother in law's truck. Sometimes a switch gets a little dirty. Good luck!!

    THANK YOU so much!!! This was amazing! My suburban had the EXACT same issue. After forever of not knowing what to do, I watched a couple of other videos that didn't help and then saw this one. Ordered the part yesterday and fixed it today!!! I am so excited I only had to pay $20something instead of taking it somewhere and spending a fortune!!! Thank you for showing this and explaining the smallest details and steps!

    Mannnnn!! These. shops need to stop with their high prices. I've been thinking it was the seat motor and was a expecting a $500+ repair. It's most likely the switch. I ordered the part today and hope to install when it gets here in a couple days. I haven't been too pressed about it since its the passenger side but I'll fix it for $20. Thanks for the video.

      @fixitwithdavid4698  3 года назад

      Thank you for watching, it might be your Switches going bad or I've also herd that the cable get jammed up inside the seat but to access that you have to take the back pannle off from the back of your seat to get to the cables Hopefully this helps you.

    Dave....My passenger seat won't tilt forward or backwards. How do you know if its the control switch or a motor or something else?

    • @fixitwithdavid4698
      @fixitwithdavid4698  3 года назад

      My seat would still move forward and back but wouldn't tilt that's how I knew it wasn't the motor and just the control switch had to be replaced.

      @@fixitwithdavid4698 Thank you very much David. I am deeply thankful. Anyhow, the problem wasn't the switch but a broken metal support located inside the back seat. Now I have to find a place where somebody make it for me, because it has a rounded form and is very hard. Regards

    I replaced this and the original was working just not moving in all the directions needed. I replaced with a new one and that did not work. Put back in the old one that was starting to fail and now that one isn’t working at all. I ordered another one so I guess I will see. Any suggestions? Did I trip something? Why doesn’t the original one have power now?
