Superb version of one of my favorite Dylan songs, thanks for sharing! Makes me want to look up the whole show, after listening to all the other latter-day I & I's.
mr t, 29th May passed..We’ll see Friday 5th midnight. Now other MATTERS happened😱 #GeorgeFloydRIP 🌹 Thanks for this great upload! Guitars sound like Knopfler style at the start! Lovely Strong! We need this! Thanks so much Dylan👌❤️🌹
OMG been looking for this performance from Dijon for ages. Thank you so much! This version was first presented on his website in the early 2000s it was unforgettable.
Resist the mass media companies man, make some mp3's, load them to your phone and listen...yes, it is going to take maybe half an hour of your precious time, but I'm sure you would find plenty of ways to waste it anyway (I know I do!)
Whence came his feet into my field, and why? How is it that he sees it all so drear? How do I see his seeing, and how hear The name his bitter silence knows it by? this was the little fold of separate sky Whose pasturing clouds in the soul's atmosphere Drew living light from one continual How should he find it lifeless? He, or I? Lo! this new Self now wanders round my field, With plaints for every flower, and for each tree A moan, the sighing wind's auxiliary: And o'er sweet waters of my life, that yield Unto his lips no draught but tears unseal'd, Even in my place he weeps. Even I, not he. ( He and I - Dante Gabriel Rossetti)
Foot of pride - never played live, studio version in existence probably copyrighted and can't be uploaded to RUclips. I and I - try my video, I And I New Haven 1999, last ever performance to date.
First of all thank you for this gorgeous song. It is a pity Bob didn't play it after 1999. Maybe he would have revisited it like he did with Lenny Bruce? 2020 is not over yet and maybe Bob will be back on the road when this pandemic will be finally over (hopefully). In the meantime he is working on the new album and yes I am sure that another song will be again released on Friday night. I am guessing it will be love song. Or maybe it is just wishful thinking. Either way we will see next week.
I'll just reply to one thing that's certain. Bob is not working on new album. The new album is finished. It wouldn't be announced if it wasn't. It's finished. It's just set to be released everywhere. They're making more copies. The album is finished. We just don't know the names of all the songs, that's all. There might be another new single.
@@mrtambourine1753 Thank you for clarifying this for me. I have absolutely no idea how the music industry works and it shows. Of course you are right. I don't know what I was thinking. Probably wasn't thinking at all. Just happily waiting for the remaining songs. BTW I already preordered the new album so the moment it is released I am going to be able to enjoy it.🦜🍀😁
@@mrtambourine1753 Yes good for me. I hope you did too, I mean preordered. Well there was a time when Bob needed every penny he could get. When he was an unknown singer in Greenwich Village and he was singing in coffee shops. But not now. He has many times over what a man needs and he knows it. Who needs millions? My answer is: nobody. It can destroy you. It can mess up your mind. Money is a false prophet. It can fool you that you are better and wiser than others. This is a road to nowhere. Luckily Bob has his passion which is performing music. Bob went from rags to riches but he didn't let it destroy him and the fact that he is still on the road and will be until his last breath tells me that this is what makes him fulfilled. Not even all the rewards and medals he received over the years. Yes it is nice to be recognized and praised and I am sure that Bob values those prizes. But he would do it regardless. He is happy when he knows that his music makes difference in people's lifes. Tomorrow is Bob Dylan's birthday and we are going to celebrate it by listening to his music. I know that it is the only way we can honor him. By appreciating his art.
Ever women would like to think of her self like that. In my case I take back my past life. It's was not pretty. Like you say but he was agree so agree. Then the other guy stated messing with me. I learnt to put the shutter up and understand they mass with what they don't really have a clue about. I like talking to you.

Yes, back when his website used to contain multitudes of performances... Now it doesn't have any :)
Do you have or remember the live performances from Chicago 2004 posted on his website? There were a couple of them.
This is the best version of this masterpiece
Best Dylan song ever!!!! In my opinion 😊
Wonderful
Great backing. To a great vocal
Incredible, I just wish I could add this to my spotify playlist!

Original have original emotion of moment of producing.

Bob Dylan -The song writing is as impressive as his powerful vocals.
