Clear and to the point. In line with my experience too. Nice vid.

I upgraded from a i5-6500 and 1050ti to this exact setup and I love it

This was really useful, thank you. Just ordered a 5700X3D to replace my 3600. Going to wait and see what comes out early next year to replace my trusty old 5700 XT but going by this I should get a really decent bump just from the processor.

    Great video, thank you!
The upgrade discussed is more realistic than many of the current benchmarks that emphasize the latest hardware. Upgrading to the 5700X 3D, particularly after the recent price drop, offers a significant enhancement for users still on the AM4 platform. For iRacing, transitioning to AM5 is often not worthwhile, as the performance improvements are minimal.

@@alaradi glad you liked the video! I completely agree, the 5800X3D is obviously the top tier option for am4 but the price is more than i was willing to pay! The 5700X3D as you say offers a great performance boost for a reasonable price.

Why didn't you do a test with a new processor and an old video card? This would make it more clear how much the processor affects the game. Perhaps the old processor simply could not produce the full power of your video card, but on the 3070 the difference will not be so noticeable and then buying a processor will be useless.
I made a video, but there are moments that remain unclear. If you did this outside of video, can you tell me how much fps increased with the 3070 video card and the new processor? Thank you.

@@ShocKKKKKKK that’s a good point! The reason i couldn’t perform a test with the 3070 and the ryzen 7 5700x3d is because my 3070 unfortunately stopped working, which was the reason i purchased a 4070. I then thought it would be interesting to test the difference each upgrade made as i installed the new parts, hense the video! However I’m confident that the new processor coupled with the 3070 still would have produced a better improvement in performance than the upgrade from 3070 to 4070 as outlined in the summary. I hope this helps!

@@FiveNineRacing Okay, thanks for the answer. I just play vr, I have a 5600x processor, but I want to upgrade to 5700x3d due to its l3 cache. I hope this will have a positive effect on performance)

@@ShocKKKKKKK i think it will, from the performance difference Ive seen it’s a great upgrade for around €200, especially with iracing being so cpu dependent.

and thats whats actually causing the 4070 to not work at its full potential... with the ryzen 7 5700x3d is most definetely to give such a big performance boost compared to what we saw in this video.

@@ShocKKKKKKK It does help a lot. I play with a 5800x3d and a 2070 Super. I had a r5 2600 before upgrading the cpu two years ago. Almost doubled my frames in VR (Valve index 100%SS) and even when the frames dropped, it was a lot smoother. My thought is to upgrade the gpu to a 5070 when they are released, but only expect a 20-30% rise in fps. However this might be higher if i start increasing the SS compared to if I start increasing SS on my current 2070S

You alreahy had a decent setup, you dont need 4090 rtx to be good at iRacing. My 1060 gtx 3gb is a proof of that

@EditorRisak14 Very true. Unfortunately my 3070 stopped working so i had no choice but to buy a new GPU!

I don’t think there’s much debate that iracings graphics are a bit outdated compared to some other games or sims out there, but they have been making good improvements recently! It’s worth noting that the settings i use in this video are quite low because having consistently good fps is more important to me personally than what the sim looks like.

Wath you think, im run 89-91 fps on my vr on 4070ti with 5800x. I have no money for am5 and not possible to buy 5800x3d but 5700x3d is available for 190euro.
I mean i feel does anything stroggles right now.
Today i saw more fps in the rain about 94 then in dry🫣😀

@@MRhankylolka in most benchmark tests Ive seen the 5700X3D does out perform the 5800X but the performance increase probably wouldn’t be as drastic as i saw upgrading from a ryzen 5 3600. The main benefit is having the 3D V cache for gaming. At €190 though that’s a good price!
