There is a spammer in the comments guys, those telegram comments are all over RUclips, it's a scam and NOT ME. Do not respond. I am reporting them all. Thank you.
I think you hit the nail on the head as to what the hobby is about. Not trying to own the best there is, there is always trade offs, so I find nothing can be perfect. I feel it should always be about finding that combo of gear that is just simply fun to listen to.
You should look into mini-split ductless air and heat. My listening room is in a converted detached garage, I had a Samsung system installed and it is nearly silent. The cold air just flows out with no duct noses. Highly recommended. Enjoy your amps year around not to mention the addition of heat in the winter. Check out the RUclips videos. FYI.
I feel that I am getting everything that you describe from my system….yet all my components are different. As long as we arrive in a place where the sound suits our ears..that is all that matters. No system is perfect.. but it is fun to pursue that quest.
What a beautiful place to live and the cat is great too, then you mention all this magical audio gear you own. I expect you earned it all so I won't say you're lucky but you're living the dream.
I love the sound of the Gryphon Diablo 120 integrated amp.
It's a bit more mellow (sweet) sounding compared to Diablo 300
The Diablo 120 is a little gem, capable and versatile but always, always ready to put the music first, with superb timing and dynamic coherence, a ready sense of rhythm and dynamic impact.
Have the 300 and agree it is more neutral but the bass is awesome and in some ways gives the amp a "bottom up" sound. Gryphon IMO is on another level from Pass.
@@michaelmityok1001 Yes, Gryphon is amazing 👍
I like Luxman 590 axii, balanced and detailed sound. Used to have ML 585 which seemed not impressive. What is your opinion about Pass Labs Int 250?
INT 250 is better than boths !
You're system is really coming together in sound as well as aesthetics. Well done Sir . 👌🎼🏆✨
I have these amps too. What is your favourite preamp with these? I love pass amps but not the preamps so much. slp-5 vs xp-22?
Just got my Pass X260.8s! Now to decide on a preamp…
I own a xa25 which I did upgrades to feedback loop with naked vishays and it’s massively improved. Did the mod for a buddy’s amp as well and the side by side comparison upgraded to stock is huge.
What do you mean by “naked” Vishal’s (resistors I assume)?
I prefer treble n bass than mid range. What type pas lab do you love
My favourite Amplifier is the one that degrades the source component signal the least.
Agreed - as far as I'm concerned there's Passlabs, and then the rest:)
There's Gryphon, and then the rest.
@@henriksrensen3220 Hahaha - ok Gryphon is definitely superlative - but I'd consider the price/performance ratio much lower than what you get with Passlabs:)
@@decoryder To me the Gryphon is much better value (price/performance) and it have always been that way. But I do like the pass sound.
I did compare my gryphon Diablo 120 to pass labs integrated.
The gryphon really deliver a live feel to the performers, the muscicians is right in front of me.
Heat aside, am I right to assume you like the Pass Labs more than the Enleum Amp 23r? I can't help but wonder it's an issue of synergy since the Denafrips Terminator Plus went back.
The Terminator is a DAC and the Enleum and Pass are both wonderful but very different. The Denafrips had better synergy with the Enleum as that amp is a bit tipped up and all about wide open detail and energy. The Terminator is a bit laid back so they go well together. The Pass amps are a touch laid back, so with the Denafrips it could be too much of a good thing. The Enluem is a more exciting listen, the Pass a more layered and richer listen. Neither is really better than the other, all depends o what you are hooking them up to really. Thank you.
Muscles is a cute kitty
Just waiting for a used pair to come available!
Thanks again for the review
Did you try Accuphase class A amps or integrated?
My favorite amplifier of all time is the Dan D’agostino momentum m400 monos. After years of upgrading starting from an arcam a38 to Hegel h360 then Krell duo is 300xd and then classe delta separates. I now been able to purchase my endgame amps with the m400 monos and the momentum hd pre-amp.
If you get a chance to try D’Agostino I recommend that you give them a listen.
Check out Jay's Audiolab. He seems to be very keen on Boulder. Never heard either one.
Hi...you siad you would review the Xp22.....i can't find your review on it! please help!
Nelson Pass is to amps as Tesla is to electricity.
Have you reviewed the PS Audio BHK amps? I’m impressed but wonder what I miss compared to Pass ..
What do you think about the XA25 in comparison - and was it just not powerfull enough (but just as nice) for your Deville's?
I love my XA25 and have the same question. I run NSMT 100's speakers and Esoteric N05XD streamer/dac/preamp
I have a Air-tight 300R which is only 9 wpc on our Fleetwood’s. So I would assume the XA25 is enough power, especially in his smaller room.
There are very interesting amplifiers of the American company "Spectral". Why not make an interesting review? Thank you for your wonderful content.
From Stereophile: Harmonic Distortion is uglily high for an high-end amp: With 1kHz sinewave: 2nd harmonic -70dB, 3rd harmonic -61dB, 5th -85dB, ... If your goal is High Fidelity not Colored sound go for amps like Benchmark AHB2.
And above are at 40W output. At rate 60W output the distortion is even higher 1+% !
Wishing to understand/learn, how do you discern the magic is purely in the amp and not in the preamp or for that matter the magical synergy between these two pieces?
it's the preamp a preamp can make lesser amp and speaker not matter so much.
have you compaired them with the older version XX(X).5?
Dont know which one but a pass labs amp was trounced by an NAD amp in a recent test by Gene.
Hi, I've been following you for a while now you seem to know your hifi business! Anyway I have a chance to get the onkyo tx-rz50 what do you think? Should I jump on it or what. Thanks.....ps. please hurry they may sell out soon! Lol......
BRAVO
Ahh, Michigan!
How is the pass integrated 60?
Nice place you have.
How does it compare to the recently reviewed Naim Supernait 3?
The SN3 is a $5k integrated amp. The Pass Labs separates with pre amp retail for around $25k. The Pass Separates are much more refined. They offer a much more holographic soundstage, sound bigger, richer, and more layered. The SN3 is FANTASTIC for an integrated amp, but can not compete with Pass separates.
I have 2 Citation 7.1 amps in bridged mode that I will never sell. Incredible dampening factor and 130 amp current. Easily drives anything.
Excellent
Keep trying new stuff :). Pass is kinda known for their lack of bass and bass control but they do have a tube like midrange, even though they don’t have tube like depth. I do agree that the XP20 level pre is the perfect match for the pass amps though and there isn’t much better looking.
what do you recommend?
Lol what?
@@mariodrv amplifier I mean
@@mariodrv I have had a pair of XA100.5’s, X350.5, X250, XP10, XP20. None of them had great bass. The XP20 definitely helped the amps sound their best though but it’s still solid state. There isn’t a SS amp on the market that gives the depth tubes give to the instruments. Heck when I had the XA100.5’s the little Rogue M180’s smoked them in pretty much all regards, including bass. They were about $6000 tube mono blocks for reference. My hypothesis is that to soften the midrange in an attempt to give it a tube like mid they end up softening the entire spectrum. At this point why not just use tubes. You get the natural midrange that a tube amp produces but without softening the rest of the spectrum. Now if you are using stuff like Primaluna or Conrad Johnson, then yeah your entire sound is pretty much soft. But, when using linear tube product like Zesto, Rogue, newer Audio Research etc it’s kinda the best of both worlds. I know there are a lot of pass super fans and their products are some of the coolest looking stuff out there, they just never really blew me away.

Thank you for your detailed and well thought out answer.
Would the sollution then maybe be a tube preamp?
Do any viewers have experience listening to
the Pass Labs XP-20 Preamplifier? It's a combination of a preamp & power source...So, 2 seperate consoles
Thanks!
I think the finest amps for me were Clayton’s mono blocks… I still have them….
You have been asked several times to comment about the Enleum 23. Why aren't you responding?
Would do a Pass Labs . Can't do the heat.
Hi Muscles the cat 🐈
So you like the Pass Labs more than the Enleum now?
😂
The more he gets paid, the more he likes it.
interesting review about Pass Amps......Jay's Audio Lab reviewed Pass XS300 said they sounded boring and used old, tired technology with no innovation.....
Wouldn't listen to anything that loud mouth says , he's far too interested in the $$$$$
@@garyspence8383 but Jay, has owned the finest amps in the world, surely we must respect his opinions ?
After whole my life experierience I have i bit different opinion. If I switch on amplifier (system) and my mind starts to analyze correctness of any harmonc frequency then I suspect whole performance is rather affected.
In system developed by me I cannot follow in sound any specific frequecy because each presented sound is too much blend, mix of all of them. Only by switching to another amplfier I notice if the low range is like nearer and rest behind while first presents more emotional music. But it is not my goal to have bass as leading - my goal is to make all harmonics equal and to have no clue about any specific range. Frankly - I am not like you and wouldnt persuade You to like what I like. By way - Your speakers look amazing in that spacious place.
I never search, wait for lowest bass except to make myself sure that my speakers and amplifier can deliver them down to bottom. Only CAN - not to enjoy them right from any music at instance . It works for me probably also because my system is considered today mild power and sure to make great loud bass is even not capable. But that I do not wait for from it, may be because I listen to complex sounding music and instruments

You sound like an ad.. this is not a review.. pfft
Not watching. Lies and claims, no evidence.
I just connect the headphone output of my iphone 6 to my kef blades, and it sounds totally amazing
