Most of the pilots were kids, no older than 23 years old. They were often flying far below the recommended amount of rest due to Britain having not enough pilots to defend its shores. Every single one of them are the greatest people ever.

When I was in Air Cadets here in Canada (205 Collishaw Sqdn), I was proud to march in the Battle of Britain day parade, even though it was only our squadron, and the Sea Cadets as well, if I recall correctly!!

I'd highly recommend watching the documentary "Europa: The Last Battle". I used to think the exact same way, but I soon realized that there was a lot more that went down during the war than we were taught.
My uncle was a bombardier in the RCAF during WW 2 and was shot down twice but managed to get back into the battle each time to fight again. He had one of the most difficult fights but never gave up. Unfortunately, his experiences affected him for the rest of his life and he was not the same person when he returned from the war.
I translated this speech into Polish and memorized it to help master Polish, not an easy language. It sounds no less powerful in Polish, even despite there being more words and syllables, and it would certainly sound equally as powerful in numerous other languages as well. In any language, it would warm the cockles of my American heart.
It was our finest hour but we then went and tarnished it by selling the Poles out at the end of the war. The Polish airmen were among the finest that fought in the Battle of Britain! Their heroism must always be at the forefront of our minds when we think of those that died in that battle to make the world free for those that followed. Can someone tell me what is the purpose of this speech?
This island is so divided by ethnic religious and ideological lines now, it would be impossible even for Winston Churchill to rally the people to such a cause.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine is analogous the the Nazi attack on Poland. And all I have seen is endless whining about ‘muh tax money’ and pro Russian comments from non Anglo British citizens especially south East Asians and Africans.
My patriotism died long ago, our culture is being extinguished, our royal family is considered ‘terribly white’, statues of the great Churchill being defaced, our ancestors gave their lives in vain to protect these lands from a foreign invasion, thanks to the ‘cultural enrichment’ we were all told we so desperately needed, this country is but a mere shell of its former self.

Ukraine is just as corrupt if not more so than Russia. They overthrew the fairly elected president in 2014 because he was sympathetic to Russia. America's current president and his son had shady buisness dealings in Ukraine, Ukraine government did bad things to the majority ethnic Russian populace in Donetsk and nearby areas.
Ukraine in terms of it's government is not the victim but part of the problem. Shameful that the government of Ukraine's corruption led to this war. Russia is not innocent, not by a long shot, but they are not the demons the West make them out to be

Remember this bravery and actions from 70 yrs ago, as we too must fight tyranny and stand our ground against not just from foriegn enemies from distant lands (China and Russia). But domestic ones currently on our home shores, who proudly wave communist flags (Greatest of which Chinese for some reason BTW) who've proclaimed their allegiance to BLM or ANTIFA. Who are no better than Mussolini's thug Black Shirt Fascists, or Hitler's Brown shirted Henchmen, or the cowardly Taliban or the ISIS scum who pray on innocent people.
