I say this from India (which was a part of the empire at the time)
The British people exemplified the very best quality possible of a people in standing up to such monstrous tyranny against all odds. Alone. But the British kept keeping the chin up, firm and fighting on against all odds.
Winston Churchill was the exemplary leader who has such strength of character to stand and fight when the odds were the bleakest and in spite of his own party had lost hope and wanted to negotiate for peace.
Whatever Churchill felt about India I dont hold against him. he was a loyal subject and minister of British Empire and such was its policy. He is to be admired for his leadership and knowledge and courage and conviction. He saved western civilization.
The brave British lads on land air and sea who fought against all odds and fought with tenacity and courage...I salute them all. Bless them.
I am proud my ancestors fought as part of the British empire in its finest hour.

As an American, I have no room to speak in any direction on the actions of the British Empire, whether popular or unpopular, successful or unsuccessful.
I am grateful every day that the heroic soldiers of the British Empire (and especially the Soldiers of India, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, amongs manyy others.) Were there to fight for the freedoms of people not yet born.
May we all once more join hands and sing songs of peace and brotherhood, as fellow humans, joyful and proud of all the best parts of humanity.

To this day, its still our finest hour. The few who fought overwhelming odds, outnumbered 4 - 5 - 6 to one powered by the words of Churchill was enough to throw back a very dark age.
80 years on there is still no greater memory to invoke to power our nation forward than by standing as best we can on the shoulders of all those great men who, by committing themselves to the impossible, achieved the impossible.
When my time comes, I'll shake the hand of every one of them.

What a man. "Cometh the Hour Cometh the Man" so lets take some time to yet again honour this incredibly determined and brilliant leader. A man who could create phrases that moved a Nation at war to ever more strength and determination. A man whose words were probably as powerful and damaging to Hitler as any Lancaster bomber Squadron....
And in so doing honour the 'Few' who stood up and were counted amongst the bravest of the brave. Men who looked Hitler in the eye and faced him down. This was the first of many great victories along with further defeats. But we stood alone and remained free and in so doing kept the light of hope and freedom burning for those in Europe who had given in.
What finer postscript to that magnificent Summer of 1940 than Churchill's later words:
"Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few..."

Words still matter. Speaking matters. Speeches move. Moves us to higher ground. Upon his breath of life as gliding upon the Eagle's wings above the ugliness and bitterness of the old world, we soar into the countenance of hope on the tips of her wings. We face terrors that freezes souls. We shall overcome not in the absence of fear, but in confrontation of it we gain something far greater than bravery. We gain courage.
Brave souls shall meet their fate, many unkind and unfair. Each death is a tear that we much catch to plant in the ground for life everlasting. We must believe, in the least, that courage lives forever. For we shant survive a breath without it in the coming years.

This island is so divided by ethnic religious and ideological lines now, it would be impossible even for Winston Churchill to rally the people to such a cause.
The Russian invasion of Ukraine is analogous the the Nazi attack on Poland. And all I have seen is endless whining about ‘muh tax money’ and pro Russian comments from non Anglo British citizens especially south East Asians and Africans.
My patriotism died long ago, our culture is being extinguished, our royal family is considered ‘terribly white’, statues of the great Churchill being defaced, our ancestors gave their lives in vain to protect these lands from a foreign invasion, thanks to the ‘cultural enrichment’ we were all told we so desperately needed, this country is but a mere shell of its former self.

Ukraine is just as corrupt if not more so than Russia. They overthrew the fairly elected president in 2014 because he was sympathetic to Russia. America's current president and his son had shady buisness dealings in Ukraine, Ukraine government did bad things to the majority ethnic Russian populace in Donetsk and nearby areas.
Ukraine in terms of it's government is not the victim but part of the problem. Shameful that the government of Ukraine's corruption led to this war. Russia is not innocent, not by a long shot, but they are not the demons the West make them out to be

Remember this bravery and actions from 70 yrs ago, as we too must fight tyranny and stand our ground against not just from foriegn enemies from distant lands (China and Russia). But domestic ones currently on our home shores, who proudly wave communist flags (Greatest of which Chinese for some reason BTW) who've proclaimed their allegiance to BLM or ANTIFA. Who are no better than Mussolini's thug Black Shirt Fascists, or Hitler's Brown shirted Henchmen, or the cowardly Taliban or the ISIS scum who pray on innocent people.
They all hated America and swore to destroy her. They brought violence, looting, arson, discourse, lies, propaganda and murder to they're own lands to quench they're thirst for power in blood and misery. Then reached out and tried to engulf the world.
And what does ANTIFA and BLM bring to.the table with them? The same exact rhetoric and hate.

Religion is not powerful enough to create war.
War is never for religion. It is only for land. And it always will be.
