Just started playing this game as a Brawler after like YEARS of not playing. Thank you so much for making this guide because WEW things can be confusing as a new player with this gear!!
OMG this is the video that I've been waiting for a long time. Thank you so much for your guide. It helps me a lot because I'm a solo player. I don't have friends in the game...just yet. :D
Thanks for your video & guides, super helpful as a returning player. If I can purchase mythical mahtnan gear on my brawler but the support options aren’t the best in options available (ie: cruel curse on a brawler weap), should I still purchase it? Thanks!
There are two weapon support options that have an effect that works for the whole party. It's Cruel Curse (reduces physical and magical resistance of the boss) and Hymn of Courage (increases magical and physical amplification for the whole party). If multiple people in the party have it on their weapon, then only the strongest one counts, so it does not stack. I think the reason why tank and healer use those two support options, is first so that without prior communication, everybody knows what to use, and second, dps should use something to boost their own damage, since that's their only job. So basically you can use something else like rage suppressor to boost your own dps instead, but if the dps players and the healer are using what they should, then the whole party is missing out on the resistance reduction. I've seen top tanks use rage suppressor though, so seems like it's not absolutely necessary to have cruel curse. Btw. you can also transfer random options, enchant level and etching even from a mythical to another mythical piece, so if you buy something, and get something better later, then you can still switch.
I left 6 months ago around July and I just got on yesterday and was so confused about the changes lol happened to me last year too after taking a 2 year break and seeing they got rid of stormcry/ heroic oath.
Yeah, they have to keep making changes, so people who play several hours each day still have something to do. On PC we typically get one or two gear changes per year.
Etching is impossible stuff for any player, not just for newcomers. New enchanting system is better a bit than it was, but there are still too much of random. I'm sick of it. And some really new content is absent still, that's why I don't want to get back here. But thank you for the news. GL! (IMO of course, so anyone could play if you can enjoy it)
Yeah, I still don't have those etchings either, but for people who run the hardest dungeons, it's not too much of a problem to make them. Also, I doubt that TERA will ever get rid of rng. I don't like that either cause my rng is usually terrible.
That lancer of yours looks astonishing I must say. Now, as for the video content: The incomplete Mahtnan gear that you receive at lvl 65 in Highwatch is not available for enchanting, for selling or for dismantling (weapon, chest piece, gloves and boots only), you can sell the federation circlet, earrings and rings once you can get decent ones, but be prepared, people are going nuts on the prices (as there are barely good ways of making gold these days on Tera, thanks gameforge for that "thing" (for not saying something else). What really surprised me is that you can't change support options (I got lucky with my valkyrie since I purchased for her decent gear without knowing and it helps), but now I have to be extra careful and the prices are killing me. Thank you Yukati for this wonderful video. Question as a newbie: how can you infuse jewelry? And how can you change stats on jewelry as well? Is that possible? Kind regards.
Thanks : ) Yeah, you cannot change the support option, but you can farm mythical gear just based on support stat, and ignore random stats, since you can get the random stats from another piece. There is a button at the bottom of your inventory, which opens the infusions window. You need those green, red or blue gems, which you get by dismantling accessories with bad rolls for example. You can only change the optional stats. Use unstable option change scrolls to randomize the stats as well as the number of stats (0-3). Stable scrolls don't change the number of stats but randomize all stats. Greedhead scrolls are like stable but let you lock stats, and boost scrolls add a stat as long as the item had less than 3.
@@YUKATIGaming I just read your previous message Yukati. Just so you know, you can transfer from mythic to mythic (I just transferred a +6 enchantment level mythic gloves to a +0 mythic one with better support options, super happy: Death Sentence V + Physical Amplification 5271 + ability to ignore Magic resistance by 1683)
Vakyrie and Archer are both physical classes, so you need physical crit power, physical piercing, ignore physical resistance, and physical amplification. If you want to min-max, you should look at the Discord for your class, maybe you'll find details on which stats are perfect for which piece of gear.
Ohh, sorry. For gloves, armor and boots, just use what I recommend for dps in the video (Perfection, Combat Essence, & Last Stand). I can't find any up to date info in the valk discord. For the weapon, they say in the archer discord to go with Rage Suppressor. I would say that is really good for classes that deal most of the damage during their burn, like ninja with inner harmony. For classes that deal good damage even outside their burn phase, it's probably better to use Heavy-Blow, or Blood Oath. Blood oath can be annoying for less experienced healers, and they might not be able to keep up if you face tank too much, so you have to manage your HP more carefully if you decide to use that. I don't know how to archer or valk, so you'll have to decide, or look at other people's setup.
Started Tera earlier this year, currently lv 70. Not to be overly negative, but I kinda dislike it when a game steamrolls it's players like this. When a major update occurs, the disjunct between pay2win and f2p players just really pops. All my money and effort that went into Kaia gear sort of went poof, and I'm left with a set of incomplete mahtnan gear. Meanwhile pay2win players (as I have noticed) have been buying items from the Tera store and selling them at the trade broker for insane amounts of in game currency, which they have been using to buy mythical mahtnan gear and ash. I have to run guardian legion missions next to players with +12 mythical occult mahtnan gear and it's just really depressing. They contribute like 96% of the damage while I do a measley 4%. I guess you get what you pay for. It's hard to find a community of f2p players to enjoy the game with tbh. And that's what I'm so frustrated about.
I think most of the players you see in high mythical gear, who also do enormous damage, actually didn't just buy the gear. In dungeons you can usually spot the newer players who farmed their credit cards, cause they are often those with highest gear level, but do lower damage than others who use gear a casual player could have farmed by then. What is giving the biggest advantage in a new patch is already having high gear from the previous patch, so you don't have to work as hard in the new patch to be able to run dungeons that drop mythical gear. For example, on my sorcerer on EU, I have a higher item level using my +6 Kaia's Soul gloves than when using my legendary gloves at +0. That sorc also has +3 legendary boots and chest piece, and +5 mythical weapon. On NA my sorcerer still has +7/+6 Kaia's Soul, and I can run anything except for the hardest dungeons. The item level of my Mahtnan set on EU (without soul gloves) is still lower than the ilevel of my soul gear on NA, and with the +6 soul gloves, EU sorc is barely higher ilevel than NA sorc. If you really want to get to the top, then you kind of have to work yourself up in one patch, so you can really go for it in the next one. It also helps if you can get into a guild that will teach you and carry you through dungeons you're new to. To be honest though, being a top player in tera requires so much grinding just to get the skill you need, so if you're not up for that, then you don't really need to worry too much about gear. It's enough to spend the 20% effort to get the 80% of the result ; ) Besides, the gear gets easier to get and enchant over time, and there are enchant events too (18th to 20 September, check out the September event in the launcher). If you get to like full +7 or +9 mythical gear by the time new gear comes in, then that's fine, and you'll have a small head start to farm the new sets. The fact that there is new gear once or twice a year means that there is always something to work towards. The only way to keep people playing is by giving them goals to go for, and in tera gear is one of those things. Sorry for the long explanation, but it's why I don't mind the constant gear changes. Btw. for legion missions, once the bam is dead, just walk out of the mission zone, switch channel, and walk back in. There is one bam on each channel ;)
Thanks for the detailed explanation. Been noticing players with really high gear level lately, and it's just a little discouraging. Buying and selling from tera store to trade broker is quite a big gig going on in the French server, and it's kind of sad that I'm not able to partake in that. I'll take no heed of the damage disparity for now and just work towards farming better gear in this update so that I'll have it easy the next update. It's not that I don't have money to spend lol, it's just that all my profits from art commissions just go into gacha :p lmao. I guess the pain of playing multiple games is that you'll never be able to fully invest in one game, which is kinda sad. That said, I do intent to spend much more time playing tera after my As, and I do wish to get to know a great community where we can all work together to become stronger. A great guild and a few friends is an awesome place to start, but I'm having trouble finding those. Probably will check out the respective subreddits. Thanks a lot! Sorry if I sounded super salty lol, was an og player of kings raid who took an extended break and returned to massive powercreep so I always frown at new gear or mechanics in game. Your content is awesome btw, it helps a lot!
Yeah, you can of course make a lot of gold that way, but it's not necessary. Also, this means you can buy things from the store using in game currency, I actually like that. The only thing I ever bought in the store was the starter pack, cause I need more bank and character slots on EU, and a couple of boxes for the seashell event, cause I had just enough thalers left from buying the starter pack XD Yeah, finding a nice guild is getting harder with the low population now. You didn't sound that salty, maybe a little bit, but I get why. Thanks, glad it helps : )
I actually like how they bring out new gear once or twice a year. The higher your gear was in the previous patch, the easier it is to get and upgrade new gear, but at the same time they make it easier over time to get the gear (with infinity coins, double drops, enchant events...), so new players can actually catch up (without p2w). How fast they can catch up depends on their skill level. I wish they wouldn't change the gear system every time as well though.
The Frostmetal, Stormcry, Heroic Oath system was my favourite. After that we had Kaia gear, which was the worst ever due to the downgrades. This Mathnan gear was an improvement over that. I saw most people leave when their Kaia gear kept downgrading. That being said, on Menma's private server Kaia gear is fine, since it doesn't downgrade and is easy to upgrade : )
I understand why you say that. They should at least stick to something that's good, and not keep changing the system. Either way, I think it's not that bad actually.
