Many years ago when we were cash-strapped and living in Berlin, we went shopping for a super low cost gift to give to each other and settled on this CD because of this song.
Oh man. First song I ever heard by Voltaire, as a teenager. Little did I know it'd start a lifelong love for his gorgeous music.
Used this to walk down the aisle at our wedding 15 years ago (it was a slightly unconventional wedding). Still married so it must be good luck. ;-)

I listened to this album over and over and over and over and over again. I was so happy when it popped up in my feed. This album is one of my secret joys.
You know, a lot of love songs through the ages have always been about how things are so great and the singer hopes they stay that way forever, but V embraces the very realistic idea that things change over the course of knowing someone, but you can grow and change together. I think it just makes for a much more grounded and relatable piece of music. I read somewhere that over the course of like a several decade long marriage people change so much that you can be married to like 6 different versions of the same person and when you're able to adjust to those changes, that's what makes a lasting marriage work.

I discovered this song back when I was in my 11th grade year of high school. Shortly after, I met my then girlfriend, and it was love at first sight. In fact, it was as if we had known each other for an entire millennium prior, like old friends meeting again. I sang this to her on our first anniversary, and every anniversary since. I forgot to sing it to her again this past Anniversary, Feburary 19th, but tonight I'll do it again to make up for lost time.

When I met my husband online some 17 years ago, it was during the era when online dating was in it's infantcy and if you actually admitted to metting someone online, you were bound to be made fun of. I was fortunate enough that he lived one state away and we were able to visit each other semi frequently until the pair of us deceded to make it official. There were a lot of odds stacked against us, but we're still here together. This originally wasn't "our song" -- a different held that spot for many years until we "grew out of it". The relationship had changed, we matured as a copuple and it didn't have the same meaning as it once did. When an old friend introduced me to Voltaire's music, one of the many tracks I fell in love with was this one. I just fit, like Cinderella's glass slipper. We're much older now, not the same as we were, but our love has matured over time and I feel this song cpatures that sentiment just wonderfully. Our anniversary is this Halloween and I plan on playing this on my phone when were sitting down enjoying the campfire ( we'll be camping ) to remind him how far we've come and how much were still in love each other from that very first day of meeting in person for the first time. Thanks Voltaire for such a wonderful song thats stood the test of time.

4 years ago this month I married my best friend and this was our first dance. It has not only been an explanation of our relationship but so meaningful to us that when we had our wedding bands engraved I had "Well as long as were together" put in his and he had "it feels like everyday is our anniversary" put in mine. We didn't talk to each other about the engravings and didn't know until after the ceremony.

I've never heard of that interpretation. I always looked at it as an interpretation of a good, healthy relationship. That's how I felt about it. Every day your true love becomes more beautiful as the days pass...we me not see someone the same today as yesterday, but the feelings continue to grow stronger.

Not really. I'm not a fan of doing that. I prefer solo or full band. Inbetween is sort of lame because it lacks the fullness of a full band.. but I still have to keep my asides, stories and comments (in the middles of songs!) to a minimum so as not to have the person next to me get tripped up or feel awkward.
