HELL YEAH! U tell em sister! Under pressure(ft. the enigmatic David Bowie R.I.P), break free, somebody to love, radio gaga, bicycle, fat bottom girls, who wants to live forever, and of course probably the most popular top 3(possibly 4) queen hits another one bites the dust, we will rock you (not sure if these 2 are considered the same song or not) we are the champions, and last but CERTAINLY not least Bahamian rhapsody. Songs that will transcend time. The fact that my 15 year old daughter hums Under Pressure at school and corrects the idiotic kids that make fun of her singing Ice Ice Baby she very calmly explains to the kids how a wannabe white rapper (remember the 90s? 😕)stole the music from Queen and David Bowie's single Under Pressure to have a song worth releasing. Even if he hadn't stolen the music (which he did, got sued, and lost 4 million$ full disclosure I'm not 100% sure on the actual amount awarded but I am 100% sure he lost his a** in that case😁) he should have been prosecuted for taking a HELL OF A DAMN GOOD SONG and murdering it into some ridiculous attempt to appear talented. Freddie and David currently have more talent in their left pinky nails than that poser did in his whole body during his entire life and for those living under a rock for the last 3 decades both Freddie Mercury AND David Bowie past away and they STILL have more talent than that thief. 😠
@@laurieerickson5648 YES! Have you seen the interview where vanilla ice tries to say the beat in ice ice baby is not the same in under pressure? It's hilarious, glad he lost in that case
@@amadnakateh I had a few years of music/band classes and later marching and concert band in my formative years. I remember when I first heard vanilla ices version I distinctly recall thinking to myself that there was only like a one Note difference in the chorus. Although in the interest of full disclosure I haven't actually listened too Rice Rice Gravey (sorry couldn't resist 😈) since like 1992/3. On the other hand I think I've listened to Under Pressure easily over 1000 in that time frame. All the kids in our H.S marching band that knew who Queen was got really heated about the whole thing. I just wondered if he outright knowingly stole it, or if MAYBE, just maybe U.P might have been played by his parents at a VERY young age. Perhaps he was only exposed to the song a couple of times then maybe he never heard it again. But that music can find a way to become a distant memory, almost seeming like a memory of dream from many years ago. That melody can surface at different and random times in our lives. What if (obvi it's PROBABLY not what happened with Vanilla) a person walks through life for 35-40 years humming a simple 4 or 5 bars truly believing that music to be an original production of their own mind? When in fact it's a song their daddy played just a couple times when he was 3 years old. Just makes ya wonder doesn't it? Well it Damn sure makes me wonder knowing what our brains are capable of and especially NOT knowing what our brains are capable of. 👀
Yes, but its still quite easy to sing. The whistle is more challenging if a person can't do it, obviously, but its still a fairly easy song to belt out.
@@Jzhwa Its more than kinda fast. But the points to rest are in between the first chorus and beginning of the second verse, the second chorus and bridge and the softer ad libs in the bridge itself before the chorus starts up again for the third / last time (prior to the whistles at the end).
“The Show Must Go On” is my absolute favourite Queen song. It’s even more incredible when you realize how sick Freddie Mercury was when he recorded it and he did it in a single take!
He nailed the chorus in one take but he didn't do the whole thing in one. Brian May cleared that up a while ago. His original comments were misunderstood. Still, as deathly ill as Freddie was, what he managed to produce was second to none.
I was thinking the same thing. I felt like somebody to love and the show must go on… And who wants to live forever should all be on this list. It doesn’t make sense that there’s only one queen song and it’s number five. LOL
I prefer the Rufus Wainwright cover. His take on the song covers my heart with such sadness that I can truly feel the heartbreak. It doesn't hurt that it's the same version as sung in Shrek. Some feelings you just can't replicate even if it's the same thing..
I just commented on this yesterday to my husband when I played the song. I think those notes would damage most of peoples’ vocals if they attempted it. I feel overall, Pentatonix doesn’t get enough recognition outside of Christmas time.
I love Dolly Parton's reaction to Whitney Houston singing her hit song, _“I Will Always Love You.”_ *_“They asked me if they could use it_* [for a remake and for the film, _'The Bodyguard']_ *_and I forgot about it until I was driving home and I heard this voice come on the radio. I knew it was something, but it didn’t register. I thought, ‘What is that? I know what that is,’ and then all of a sudden she starts that… when she goes into the ‘I will always love you’ part--honest-to-goodness, I almost wrecked! I had to pull over and listen to it! But it was the most overwhelming feeling that little song of mine could be done so beautifully, so big, so overwhelming, that I really almost just heart attack right there! I’ll never forget it.”_* I thought that was such a marvelous compliment to Whitney! Dolly has always been gracious and giving, and it made her so proud that Whitney remade her "little song", and that she did it so perfectly. I'm sure the royalties didn't hurt, lol, but she probably gave most of it away or started another charity with it, to be honest! She is a beautiful person. The world truly lost a legend when it lost Whitney.. and many others on this list, as well. ~Peace!
I so agree with what you said!!! Dolly Parton is one of the most gracious and giving celebrities who has ever lived and I adore her. And yes, we lost a legend when we lost Whitney. :(
I forgot who received this particular music award but the song received an award from The Royal Society Of Cremetory Science for being the most requested tune for a body being sent into the cremetory furnise in the UK.
I love her response to a talk show host about whether she was offended being called a dumb blond. She said "Honey, I'm not offended because I KNOW I'm not dumb and I know I'm not blond". Love her all the time.
When I was a kid, Whitney Houston singing our national anthem was the first song to make me feel so many emotions at once that I cried! Still one of the most amazing moments in history. RIP Whitney.
Simpler, as writer intended, with pride for ones country and countrymen. I agree one shouldn’t use up all his vocal “tricks” during that (or any other) patriotic songs.
Yeah, when I first heard her singing it I thought "What a amazing job " no mistakes at all. Then found out she didn't perform it at all ! Unlike everybody else Whitney performed hers in the studio 🎙 then lip synced her version at the Superball. This after selling over $1 million copies on CD. I didn't like that one bit, even though she was a great singer couldn't understand why she didn't do hers live where everyone else has done. I liked her but felt betrayed by her .
The technicality of Mariah’s entire discography would be vocal suicide for the average joe. Even some established vocalists could never replicate the exact tone, power, and richness of Mariah’s range.
It's vocal suicide for most singer. Even without the whistle, most of her songs are still impossible to sing with all the crazy high belt and lightning speed melisma
I have always been in awe of Steve Perry’s voice. His high notes and strength in his voice is just incredible! To me, the best singers are from the era, 50s-90s
ABSOLUTELY. Separate ways world's apart and there's another Steve Perry song that blows my mind when I REALLY listen to the vocals. Damn I can't remember what song it is but it's ABSOLUTELY Steve with journey. And while ultimately he can't ever be replicated or replaced they came about as close as humanly possible when they brought in that other guy.
I agree. I couldn't believe that some female singer already covered Adele's new song "Easy On Me". I said she has an ok voice but stay away from Adele. You can't cut it!
I am kind of shocked Guns 'N' Roses did not get an honorable mention. Not just because no one can replicate Axl Rose's voice without severe voice box damage.
Bridge Over Troubled Water is one of my all-time favorites. Garfunkel is masterful, both powerful and ethereal. I love how it builds to that huge crescendo at the end.
@Darla Brandon I was just gonna say, Houston caterwaled like a screechin banshee on a song that was supposed to be a tender farewell to a very deep love!!! I cannot stand how Houston screeched out that song!!!!
Video starts at :52. The list: * Don't stop believing (* unique voice, almost a female vocal range) * Hello (Adele) * Take On me (Aha) - HUGE vocal range. Difficult even for female singers. * I'll never let you go (Steelheart): very difficult for male singers due to extreme falsetto. * I believe in a thing called love * Chandelier (Sia) * Sherry (1962) - high falsetto * Total Eclipse of the Heart * Earth Song (1995) * The star Spangled Banner * Bridge over Troubled Water * Wuthering Heights * Unchained Melody * Dream On * Bohemian Rhapsody * And I am telling you I am not going * Lovin You * Given up (Linkin Park) * Listen (Beyonce) * Emotions
@@Nazaba09 how is she singing it, falsetto is much easier than singing in chest. She also has a naturally higher voice so it's gonna be easier with some of the male vocal lines
Livin' on a Prayer by Bon Jovi is incredibly difficult to sing too, and it only gets harder when the pitch changes later in the song. I think it deserves a place in top 20.
@@TheNutshaq sorry ik this is an old comment 😅 but do you know when were the two times he performed the studio version? I came across the concert performance in 1995 in London, not sure if it’s one of them
Michael Jackson has many extremely difficult songs to perform, but indeed Earth song, is one of the most DIFFICULT songs to sing if not the most. Not only it has these supreme and nearly impossible for someone but a professional singer notes, but also the emotion that the singer has to pass on to the listener is really difficult. 💭💭🖤🖤 Rest in peace Michael.
When my son was in middle school, he surprised me by saying he was going to enter a talent show at school and was going to sing. I didn't even know he could sing. He picked the Earth song. And when he went into to sing in front of 4 judges, the CD did not work and he had to sing it acapella!! He did amazing but I can see why that was once of the hardest songs.

What’s interesting about “And I’m Telling You” is that when both Jennifer Holiday and Jennifer Hudson performed it, they were newcomers. Like Effie was the first role that each of them played.
My favourite is Total Eclipse Of The Heart. There's just something amazing about Bonnie Tyler's husky voice. That song is like rock, pop & soul combined together. Everything about it is just perfect👌
Not many people now know why her voice is the way it is. She had polyps on her vocal cords and had to have surgery to remove them. She couldn't speak or whisper or use her voice at all for 6 months afterward. When she could finally sing again, her voice came back as the husky, rough voice we all know and love today. I don't even remember what her voice sounded like before the polyps. Her big hits came after them.
@@joubessGod bless those polyps on Bonnie Taylor’s vocal strings… Because, this unique voice and this memorable gothic song, and the emotional charge of it is something so important and beautiful for several generations, that any bugs or other theories about the medical condition seems unimportant and not worth taking about…
watchmojo - your description of each song is so beautifully written that i keep replaying this video just to hear what you have to say about each rendition. Bravo!
Michael Jackson's _"Earth Song"_ I never knew that it's a hard song to sing I just realized it after watching tons of Singers giving MJ Tribute in Grammy , no one hit the right note throughout the entire performance 🤧
She is amazing and her version is stunning for precision and power, but it's more an academic piece of art than an interpretation. While she (and all others) sing high, Michael sang SHOUTING and suffering. "Heavens are falling down" in Michael's version is dramatic and moving, in other versions is only a high pitch...
Her songs are low and I am a mezzo-soprano so her songs are hard. However, majority of these songs I can at least do but really depending if you want to be accurate, but if you are just doing karaoke I think anyone can sing these songs with ease lol.
@S. G. yeah because singers right now focuses only how to be a powerful like Whitney or Mariah which is too overrated to hear it from the listeners or other singers.
I can't believe Crazy by Heart was not here. Ann could go from soft ballad to power highs at the flip of a switch. Heart should have been somewhere on this list.
"Crazy On You" is extremely tough, but so are a fair number of other Heart songs. Heart is my favorite band, but I never sing any of their songs at karaoke, unless it's a cover of somebody else whose songs I can sing. Ann Wilson is amazing!
Dolly's original version -a single in the early 70s of I will always love you, recorded when she was younger, is the most difficult in range of notes, plus the sweetest most heart breaking song of my lifetime.
Ok...I've watched you for years and have NEVER called you out. But you brought Dimash into it, that arrangement of Sinful Passion could NOT be song by anyone but Dimash, not even close. He starts the song in a basement baritone from a whisper to power, does his operatic falsetto finishing with a whistle ala Mariah. Then proceeds to do a style I have yet to see a western singer even try as he moves up his range again and then does an acrobatic run up and down the scales in a 3 octave range on one 30 sec breath to finish. To anyone that has not heard Dimash listen to this song and SOS I promise your mind will be blown. He is by far the best singer/performer in the world now and he's only 26. Also he's an incredible human being not an egotistical bone in his body. He is a once in generations talent and I'm not easily amused.
@@marytatodd9934 I can't wait for Covid to clear for SOOO many reasons but 1 of them is the opportunity to see him live! I don't fan girl out but there's something about him that's captivated me. PEACE
Practically this entire list could've been made up of Celine, Mariah, Whitney, and Queen songs, because forget hard songs, those are all hard artists to attempt for anyone who doesn't have musical training
Idk, Nightwish has some very difficult songs and so does Evanescence and Halestorm. Freak like Me by Halestorm is incredibly difficult to do without damaging your voice and the lead singer does it almost perfectly every time.
@@fueledbypaintwater the lack of nightwish and Floor in particular is appalling and an absurd overlook. I'd like to see Mariah Carey go through Floor's full range plus the growls and the aria's. Mojo has had Floor on lists in the past, so this is just wrong
Mariah Carey's discography could easily take half of the list. Her songs are so difficult that even she has to adjust to them now (which is normal as you age).
@@natsume0542 This is so true!!! How could they miss it haha. Kudos to them for recognizing Mariah's Emotions, which in addition to whistle notes, is a whole lot more with its upper belts, agile transitions, low notes, etc.
Brad Delp of Boston sang some unbelievable high notes, G5s can be found in “Mean Woman Blues”, “More Than a Feeling”, and “Smokin’". He had a very wide range though, too. He should be on this list.
I think the older performances are much more incredible. Take the Righteous Brothers performance for instance, that was live, one take, in front of millions on tv and his mother in the audience. Pure raw talent. He killed it.
1982... My history teacher made a classmate sing "Don't Stop Believing" ah capella. He nailed it. At that time in my life.... I was so VAN HALEN that I couldn't appreciate how difficult and how good Mike Stowe was....
Mariah Carey's "Fly like a bird" is one of my favorites mainly because even tho I don't consider myself to be religious..that song makes me feel something spiritual
I was expecting Axl Rose (GunsN’roses) to be in the list, Man’s vocals are out of this world😮💨💯. Glad to see that you included Steven Tyler and Queen in here tho✨
Love On Top is one of the most difficult songs to sing! There are not that many vocalist who can modulate four times and hit a high head voice four different times in four different octaves. Y’all continuously keep ignoring that song
I was about to add this same reply!!! THANK YOU!!! How the hell does Beyonce not get on the list at all for this song, but only an honorable mention for Listen?!?! Many professional singers always say how difficult those songs are! Please put respect on that woman’s name.
Adele’s Hello, has been nailed by so many people thou. A Nigerian singer by the name, Omawumi, even added some spicies to it and made it hers with the infusion of raggae.
I have seen a fair number of the acts listed in this vidoe live to see them perform these songs. Celine Dion absolutely BLEW ME AWAY with her power of this song live. I think about it now and get goosebumps still.
The most difficult songs are sung by the vocal king Dimash Qudaibergen, such as "SOS", "Ogni Petra - Olympico", he can also transform any common song to a masterpiece.
When I was young (pre-25 or so), I used to surprise my friends at karaoke, because none of them knew I was a contraalto, and I could sing "Unbreak My Heart". I would also sing Stevie Nicks' "The Chain", Tracy Chapman's "Give Me One Reason", Fiona Apple's "Criminal," etc. No one knew my singing voice is low and smokey, because my speaking voice is high and basic. lol
I can sing all of these ones that I know, mostly classic rock ones, and do so in my bands. I'm opposite from you though, Ardella, in that my speaking voice is low and no one suspects that I am a mezzo soprano until they hear me hit those high notes. My highest is probably Promises in the Dark by Pat Benatar or Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. No one is surprised when I sing baritenor parts like The Doors, LOL.
Hehe. Right? Half this list was "be a contralto/high tenor/countertenor" with a few "have such a large range everyone else is left in the dust, and/or good control." I still remember one time I went to karaoke with some folks. I'd been helping on songs by sopranos all night, not much power or anything. Then suddenly I hit'em with my belt on a Barbra Streisand song, much to their shock and amazement. One of my friends asked me where I'd been hiding that voicethis whole time.
Yeah you are not wrong David's voice on that track is so varied and it borders on down right evil when you try to sing it (I know, I've tried lol) its a powerful cover
She does in fact blow it up in ways that are chilling, so very awesome, but believe it or not, I heard a duet at a local football game in Oklahoma, 2 men, that was actually better. You just had to have been there. As far as I know they haven't been recorded doing it and that's a shame.
As a kid, I didn’t know that much songs by Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston but being fully honest, I love When You Believe in DreamWorks The Prince of Egypt. Loved it ever since

There`s nobody like Dimash. Never was, never will be. The things he can do with his instrument in every register, the dynamics, the emotion, the technical skills, the breath control, the vocal control, in every genre of music is outstanding.
I don't have much more info, but there's a singer called Lisa who did a version, and honestly, one of the absolute most beautiful renditions. My fave to sing for years now. Oh, the channel name is LisaLoisVEVO! Highly highly recommend
I think you missed one of the most difficult of all, in fact I believe it was on your list of most difficult show tunes, "The Phantom Of the Opera". The Phantom's part isn't difficult but the last few bars of Christine's part are a literal voice killer. In fact I understand most performers prerecorded the end and then lip sync for most performances, they may do the full song only once or twice a week.
@@juliannaser4017 true but the women who have to sing this part at the major shows on Broadway or the West End, usually sign up for a year or two at a time with up to 8 performances a week. That will kill kill anyone's voice except possibly Sarah Brightman's. And remember, AĹ-W wrote the part for the love of his life at the time, Sarah, and took full advantage of her particular capabilities.
As a mezzo soprano... hitting that E6 without cracking or fading is quite difficult for me... I can do it on a good day, other days I sound like a dying animal
Happy to see Dimash at least as an honorable mention, but his songs are damn near impossible. I’m honestly shocked to not see a single mention for P!nk. Her song “You Get My Love” is wicked hard. I’m also happy to see Riperton on the list, but I wish there was more mention for some older jazz singers, like Ella. Some of those scatting moments are no easy task. Also it’s a crime that Vitas was not mentioned anywhere. But overall, solid choices.
I'm a bit surprised that there was no mention of Guns N' Roses, even in the honorable mentions. Especially since Axl has such a unique voice and is the only professional singer with a wider vocal range than Mariah Carey.
They have really an awesome range, but there are are actually many professional singers with a bigger range than Mariah Carey and Axl Rose, e.g. Devin Townsend, Corey Taylor, Dimash, Mike Patton, Adam Lopez, Nina Hagen and Nicola Sedda
Also I knew this wouldn’t be one even as a mention because it ain’t mainstream enough, but has anyone here ever heard Showbiz or Muscle Musuem by muse? Those are some ridiculous vocal performances. Sometimes you can’t tell if it’s the guitar squealing or just his voice, and usually it’s the latter. I think the highest note in it is G#5 off memory (Showbiz) and even though he’s in his forties he can hit still hit that note nowadays. Not hugely impressive compared to other high singers but amazing tone and technique, plus he also writes his music and is both an insane guitarist and pianist.
Emily West delivered a stunning jazz cover of Sia's CHANDELIER on AGT. Kevin Simm also did great male cover on the voice. Serena Onassis was amazing with her rendition of O Holy Night, she finds no difficulty with delivering perfect whistle notes. Most of the songs chosen in this video are about high notes. I think the most difficult songs are the ones that require a wide range of notes and the transition between them.
“Lead The Way” is maybe Mariahʼs most difficult song (VOCAL SUICIDE). However, “Emotions” is massively famous compared to it. The latter could be a #2 for me.
If you have a very good pair of earphones, you would notice that even Mariah used a lot of cut/paste (that long note is a loop) and voice modification on Lead The Way. However, I believe she could easily sing it if she was in her early 90s form.
When you grew up listening to artists like Earth Wind & Fire, Patti Labelle, The Stylistics, Chaka Khan, Luther Vandross, etc....this list is kinda meh. But I can appreciate some of the vocalists here. Mariah and Minnie are legends. Bohemian Rhapsody should have been higher on the list.
Surprised she didn't mention that high note he hit in that song. For me, that's one of the ways that I judge how well someone has done trying to cover that song - if they can smoothly hit that high note.
I remember going to see "Dream Girls" at the movies when I saw Jennifer Hudson sing the song "And I am telling you" The entire theatre stood up and clapped their hands including me because she sang that song with so much feelings you can cry which I did.
The most difficult song I personally have ever heard is Dimash's (the guy you have only in the honorable mentions for whatever reason) 6 octave version (F#1 - F#7) of the Diva Dance (that mixes (both chest and head) classical bel canto singing with several different contemporary genres, ranging from pop to metal techniques)
Agreed, and she's not the only one, sad that these are only mainstream songs that everybody knows, it labels them as "technically" the best singers in the world. They're all really good, but they're not the 20 best singers in the world. Title is deceptive as it doesn't take all music into account, only mainstream mega hits.
@@KathleenFeliciano Nightwish, Ghost Love Score, Live at Wacken 2013. The most reacted to music video/song on RUclips. If you watch this one song, you'll go down a rabbit hole you'll never get out of.

@@laurieerickson5648 Exactly! I listened to under pressure too many times but only listened to Ice ice baby a hand full of times
Queen is my first thought. That high note in BR just seems impossible.
Emotions has low notes, high notes, belting, falsetto, whistles, chest voice and more. That one is definitely up there. 🥴
And the song is kinda fast too. There's really just no time to rest.
Yeah I was like if Mariah isn't number one this list is a fraud. It's nice when they get it right.
Its not even her hardest song. IMO, Fly like a bird or lead the way are way harder than emotions.
The “Earth Song” is so powerful, and Michael’s vocals are stunning
When this song first came out it was a debut on Video Soul on BET and me and my cousin was watching and cried
Lol!
And even more relevant now than it was then, tragically

“The Show Must Go On” is my absolute favourite Queen song. It’s even more incredible when you realize how sick Freddie Mercury was when he recorded it and he did it in a single take!
He nailed the chorus in one take but he didn't do the whole thing in one. Brian May cleared that up a while ago. His original comments were misunderstood. Still, as deathly ill as Freddie was, what he managed to produce was second to none.
That’s true, I had forgotten that
I was thinking the same thing. I felt like somebody to love and the show must go on… And who wants to live forever should all be on this list. It doesn’t make sense that there’s only one queen song and it’s number five. LOL
Greatest vocalist of all time
whatever happens, the show must go on.
I would have thought that Pentatonix's cover of Hallelujah would be on here. Mitch's five octave vocal range is unreal.
i legit cried i thought i was like being lifted
I prefer the Rufus Wainwright cover. His take on the song covers my heart with such sadness that I can truly feel the heartbreak. It doesn't hurt that it's the same version as sung in Shrek. Some feelings you just can't replicate even if it's the same thing..
I just commented on this yesterday to my husband when I played the song. I think those notes would damage most of peoples’ vocals if they attempted it. I feel overall, Pentatonix doesn’t get enough recognition outside of Christmas time.
I love Dolly Parton's reaction to Whitney Houston singing her hit song, _“I Will Always Love You.”_
*_“They asked me if they could use it_* [for a remake and for the film, _'The Bodyguard']_ *_and I forgot about it until I was driving home and I heard this voice come on the radio. I’ll never forget it.”_*
I thought that was such a marvelous compliment to Whitney!
I did a decent version of Dolly's arrangement of the song in a studio, but I'm a mezzo so had to change the key.
Dolly has always joked that Whitney could keep the song as long as the money kept rolling in.
She’s one of a very few who simply sang the song ans did an amazing job

Yeah, but let's try to be nice to Ariana. It's not easy to be rich.
Mariah's prime during the 90's is incomparable. Her whistle registry and melisma are decadent.

And while ultimately he can't ever be replicated or replaced they came about as close as humanly possible when they brought in that other guy.

Not many people now know why her voice is the way it is. She had polyps on her vocal cords and had to have surgery to remove them. She couldn't speak or whisper or use her voice at all for 6 months afterward. When she could finally sing again, her voice came back as the husky, rough voice we all know and love today. Fiona Apple's "Criminal" is one of the very few songs I can actually sing well because it just perfectly fits my range.
I can sing all of these ones that I know, mostly classic rock ones, and do so in my bands. Then suddenly I hit'em with my belt on a Barbra Streisand song, much to their shock and amazement. One of my friends asked me where I'd been hiding that voicethis whole time.
I think disturbed's sound of silence should be on this list. His range and power is incredible.
Yeah you are not wrong David's voice on that track is so varied and it borders on down right evil when you try to sing it (I know, I've tried lol) its a powerful cover
100💯💯 agree
Sound of silence belongs to Simon and Garfunkel not disturbed
Exactly what I was going to say , disturbed's version "sound of silence" was performed even way better than Garfunkel
AGREED🤚🏼
Has there ever been a better version of "The Star-Spangled Banner" than that by Whitney Houston? Still gives me goosebumps & a tear in my eye!
She does in fact blow it up in ways that are chilling, so very awesome, but believe it or not, I heard a duet at a local football game in Oklahoma, 2 men, that was actually better. You just had to have been there. As far as I know they haven't been recorded doing it and that's a shame.
yes, Huey Lewis and the news knocked it out of the park. and did it without vocal gymnastics just straight singing.
While i agree, Marvin Gaye killed it, too.
She sung it perfectly noone will ever sing it better because it can't be done
Not only was the timing spot-on, her delivery was stunning. A true American.
As a kid, I didn’t know that much songs by Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston but being fully honest, I love When You Believe in DreamWorks The Prince of Egypt. Loved it ever since
Chester from linking park was definitely a talented artist... no question.
Given Up and Numb are great examples of that man's talent
I contend that Linkin Park’s cover of Rolling in the Deep is one of the best covers of all time. Chester was truly different. Miss him a lot
I feel that at least "crawling," is definitely deserving of a spot on this list...

There`s nobody like Dimash. Never was, never will be. The things he can do with his instrument in every register, the dynamics, the emotion, the technical skills, the breath control, the vocal control, in every genre of music is outstanding.
I agree with you. He's an another league, completely.
his tone is nasally tho
✨🔥✨🔥✨🔥✨
Me me ,pick me.
Dear since 2019
Maria Callas?🤔
Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen as performed by k.d. Lang. It is a beautiful song and her rendition is hard to beat
I think Jeff Buckley does an amazing version too
Listen to Pentatonix and remember they do it a capella, with 6 arrangements of the chorus and 4 arrangements of the verses.
Very true, I agree with you as well.
I don't have much more info, but there's a singer called Lisa who did a version, and honestly, one of the absolute most beautiful renditions. My fave to sing for years now. Oh, the channel name is LisaLoisVEVO! Highly highly recommend
I grew up singing a ton of journey,im a high soprano so i can at least hit the high notes lol
I guess you never heard "The great gig in the sky" by Pink Floyd and Clare Torry. Whoever sing this can sing everything
How did they miss Seal's Kiss From A Rose? An infamously difficult song to sing.
Yes, excellent call
Really not that hard
Or Guns N' Roses - Garden Of Eden
@@domx7zero157 you either high or in complete denial. It has so many dynamics and stamina to get through it. As a vocalist, I don't even attempt it.
@@troysuza2065 great song but I don't find it that difficult.
Elton John. He makes his songs seem easy to sing. I can't ever get them right even singing along with him.
Art Garfunkel, 80 years old, still knows how to sing... Kate Bush, oh my god... and the best of all... Freddie.
Yeah, because the don't trust themselves with the E6... but E6 is not thaaat extremely high for a soprano
Not one Linkin Park song? Nobody can do Chester’s distorted vocals the way he does
"Given up" was in the Honourable Mentions at least, the 17 second scream gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it!
@@MegaJSK123 You think that gives you goosebumps... Go listen to the live version of One More light on Kimmel. That scream echoes through your brain
@@BitWrecker yeah I've seen it, it's powerfull!

Did you watch the entire video?
Don’t Stop Believing …. best song ever to sing with all your friends back in the day. The 80s were amazing.
Faithfully is another tough vocal by Steve Perry. Brad Delp on More Than a Feeling. That's almost otherworldly for a guy to sing.
For me, Journey was in the 70s
Great list. I always liked "Never Enough" by Loren Allred. 😎
Yes, also amazing.
So glad Dimash's one song is in this list. But he deserved more than just an honorable mention. Each of his songs is fucking difficult.
I totally agree. A lot of people have not hear him yet and they should.
Same.
Even when the songs aren’t his, he somehow makes them better and even more difficult than one mere human can sing
I think they should do a list of top ten songs Dimash made more difficult
@@rosemarie575 LMFAO
You forgot Celine dions “My Heart Will Go On”
Came here to say this exact thing.
MHWGO its not one of her most difficult songs to sing. "I surrender" is one of them
Accidental thumbs down.... sorry 😣
'All By Myself' is even more difficult.
@@RoxanaGark dhimas take all
“Lead The Way” is maybe Mariahʼs most difficult song (VOCAL SUICIDE). However, “Emotions” is massively famous compared to it. The latter could be a #2 for me.
Also “Forever”
If you have a very good pair of earphones, you would notice that even Mariah used a lot of cut/paste (that long note is a loop) and voice modification on Lead The Way. However, I believe she could easily sing it if she was in her early 90s form.
If It’s Over & Outside say HI
Til the end of time, Mariah Carey. Is beautiful, but you're right about lead the way
Shakespeare's sister song "Stay" should have been an honorable mention, towards the end one girl hits an incredibly powerful difficult high note!
Trying to hit the way she does in stay and I don't care is an artform
I sang that as my GCSE music practical exam
Agree!!! Marcella Detroit is so under rated and her contribution to music in general, not just Shakespear's Sister, go a bit forgeotten!!!
Such a great song!
Kate Bush with Peter Gabriel singing Don't Give Up is so beautiful.
Great Song!!!! Great Album!!!👏🏽
Love both of those artists so much
When you grew up listening to artists like Earth Wind & Fire, Patti Labelle, The Stylistics, Chaka Khan, Luther Vandross, etc....this list is kinda meh. But I can appreciate some of the vocalists here. Mariah and Minnie are legends. Bohemian Rhapsody should have been higher on the list.
oh my goodnesssssssss!!!!! EWF!!! to die for
I would like to add Prince
Wuthering Heights is right to be on this list. Kate Bush has such an otherworldly voice
Pat Benatar cover is pretty amazing as well
She is an insane singer. Love her music
yea - the intervals are difficult and take a lot of practice. I'm a classically trained singer and LOVE singing this song!!!
That live performance by Bobby Hatfield of The Rightous Brothers of "Unchained Melody" is beyond the pale, taking nothing away from any of the others.
Agreed it is untouchable... also not even honorable mention for Harry Nillson's "without you" was surprising
Surprised she didn't mention that high note he hit in that song. For me, that's one of the ways that I judge how well someone has done trying to cover that song - if they can smoothly hit that high note.
It’s not just him hitting the high notes though. His vocal control (the vocal flourishes he employs) are amazing!
Earth Song is one of my favorite songs, it has an beautiful story to tel in such a emotional tone.
Yes, when you see Michael singing it. He seems to float into the sky. It is so powerful. Like Lennon's, Imagine, song. Immortal.
Alongside "Bohemian Rhapsody", Queen has so many other songs that are hard to sing like "My Fairy King", "March of the Black Queen", etc.
I remember going to see "Dream Girls" at the movies when I saw Jennifer Hudson sing the song "And I am telling you" The entire theatre stood up and clapped their hands including me because she sang that song with so much feelings you can cry which I did.
I loved Bonnie Tyler in "Total Eclipse of the Heart". She is AMAZING!!!
Agreed!!
Total eclipse of the Steelheart
Mariah's Emotions is just beyond human's ability!
Whiches one of my least favorite songs of all time
Most of her discography*
My dad was absolutely convinced that those whistles were actually a keyboard!
“That’s not natural, that’s a keyboard 🎹 doing those notes!!!” 😂
@@ConcertgoerJ.R. so you’re probably one of the most tasteless people of all time
@@ConcertgoerJ.R. no one is asking tho!
Agreed
Totally agree. The best singer in the world.
Right? That performance is INSANE
He out sings the lot of them
...I didn't know he did that one too. To le google!
Floor Jansen (Nightwish) could sing any of these. Most singers sing what they can, Floor Jansen sings what she wants.
Agreed, and she's not the only one, sad that these are only mainstream songs that everybody knows, it labels them as "technically" the best singers in the world. They're all really good, but they're not the 20 best singers in the world. Title is deceptive as it doesn't take all music into account, only mainstream mega hits.
Who is that?
Tarja was a better singer though
I argree. Nightwish is a really good band live.
@@KathleenFeliciano Nightwish, Ghost Love Score, Live at Wacken 2013. The most reacted to music video/song on RUclips. If you watch this one song, you'll go down a rabbit hole you'll never get out of.
I remember hearing Lin Yu Chun sing both "I will always love you" and "Total Eclipse of the Heart.' He did an awesome job of it.
