      While I trust that this is an honest and faithful review, and also figured that this was a paid sponsorship, I would have much preferred to have it mentioned in the video. One of my favorite lines to hear on a product review is any variation of “This video is sponsored by XYZ, but I told them if they wanted to sponsor the video, they had to accept whatever my honest review of the product is- good or bad.”

      Gotta love not even pinning the comment where you finally admit this is sponsored! You make good videos, dont ruin your brand and credibility by not disclosing ads properly. No problem in taking ads, but just say its sponsored in the video and description. What do you gain in tricking your viewers? A bit more money now and a loss of trust later. Especially in a time where there are thousands of content creators, the truth is the content you make can be found elsewhere, what trully separates you is your personality and connection with the viewers that was gained throughout the years, dont ruin that.

    • @daleykun
      @daleykun 11 месяцев назад +13

      How you expect us to trust you to give an honest, critical review of a product if it is sponsored? It’s disingenuous to call it review if money is changing hands. Not being upfront with your viewers from the get go and have it come out afterwards makes them lose trust in you, even if your views in the video are completely uncensored by sponsors

    PSA FOR EVERYONE: This is just a Kickstarter. You are not "pre-ordering" this product. Your favorite youtubers do not just happen to love this product. The company that makes it is paying foodtubers large amounts of money to make full-on infomercials. As a Kickstarter, if you invest in the product's campaign thinking it's a pre-order, then there is absolutely no guarantee as to when you will get the product and very limited legal recourse for any issues it may have

That being said this appears to be a corporation who has brought various products to market in the past doing a fake kickstarter, or kickstarter-as-an-ad. Obviously you can't create and bring to market an air fryer on 10,000..this is just a way to produce hype and abuse the kickstarter algorithms(wow instantly funded!!).

    I think you should know that it's RUclips policy that you have to mention the sponsor in the video. You can't just put it in the description or in a pinned comment. It needs to be in the video itself. When you mention it in the video and you tag it as a sponsor in the upload (which you are required to do if there's a sponsor) It then shows underneath the video that this video contains product placement or sponsor. Your video currently doesn't do that and is very misleading, especially if someone's not reading the description or the comments.

    Okay, I need to say this, and in no way do I want to question the actual capabilities and performance of the device: AI in this case is just a marketing thing like when people tried to blockchain everything without any actual need.
    There are, at first glance, only temperature, ventilation, humidity and time involved and those are pretty straightforward curves to follow.
    Training an AI model for it seems unnecessary overkill, and I'd be surprised if it has an actual impact.
    But as long as it works, it's fine, especially since the device itself seems to be pretty good.

      Better read the fine print, This is just a Kickstarter.

      @@bricebeach3756 When I said Dreo was a known brand, I meant that they already have air fryers currently on the market. That's why I didn't hesitate. Also, $199 was the day one price - which is a price that I think is worth it for a combi cooker.
      I used large restaurant combi cookers in culinary school, so when this was first announced, it had my attention because steam cooking provides for a few additional options that I don't otherwise have in my home kitchen.
      I also don't already have an air fryer, though I've considered it. Based on what you have, if you're happy with it, be happy with it. I just think the criticism of how Dreo went about this is just a little over the top.

Now it's all about homesteading, having what you want in your perfectly-tended garden that never seems to have deer or rabbits eating it all, and chickens that don't get killed by coyotes....punctuated by product placement, not all of which is disclosed (like this).
      Mike, you've taught me a lot. I'm glad you've been so successful, but I wish you'd occasionally go back to your roots which is where most people actually life -- without elaborate gardens and every gadget known to man.
