    Hi, I have Osteochondromatosis since I was 12 (now I'm 23) and it used to hurt me whenever I was running even for 1k. After I turned 18 I did an MRI my doctor said it's nothing to worry about prescribed me some medication (pills for a month and gel) but since then every time I exercise it hurts very very bad. If I were to had a surgery how long would it take for an average size Osteochondromatosis to recover?

      It all depends on the site of the osteochondroma. There is no general rule in osteochondroma excision

    Salaam doc,
    When the osteochondroma is NOT continuous with the bone, is there just a gap/breakage between the bony outgrowth and the main bone?

    Hi, is it really needed to go under surgery? I have this on both side of my knee, it’s painless too,and I don’t know what to do.

      I have Osteochondroma in my left femur too and it doesn't hurt,but I don't know if I will undergo surgery

      There is no need of surgery unless it begins to interfere in your life. But get it checked with a certified medical practitioner to verify that it's not a cancer of tumor.

      I have had surgery on my knee twice Because it grew back. You don't have to have surgery unless it is really bothering you or it's painful like mine. That's why you should wait for your body to stop growing unless it's really painful. It was ruining my ability to walk.

    I went to see an Orthopedic doctor when I broke my leg. He told me I had broken my leg. He could not tell by the xray/ maybe he wasn't trained that I had a massive, beneign, large-cell none tumor. I demanded a scan. When he received the results, he freaked out and sent me to an expert. I will also say that an indication you have a tumor, is that the area generates heat.

    I have five children, four of my five children have Hereditary Multiple Osteochondromatosis. This video was very helpful, I also wanted to ask? What is the percent of the possibility of it becoming cancerous?

    • @Pediatricorthopedic
      @Pediatricorthopedic  7 лет назад

      As a general rule, for multiple osteochondromatosis, it is less than 10%
